About this property

Private garden and panoramic views in the historic centre

Coronavirus - This apartment has an independent entrance, there are no shared stairs or closed passages and the garden is self-contained. The cleaners use masks and gloves and the windows are left open before your arrival, even if it is known that the danger of contamination through surfaces is negligible. You will be as safe as in your own house.

Large (140 square meters), full of light (see pics) flat with a secluded garden in the historical centre of Lisbon, walking distance from all main tourist sites in the old town.

The flat has large windows with unrestricted panoramic views of Lisbon and the castle and conserves all of its original features - high sculptured ceilings, original wood floors, etc.
This, together with its garden where you can sit by the end of the day with a glass of wine, hearing nothing but the birds and feeling anywhere but in the middle of the capital, makes this flat the perfect place to stay in Lisbon.

Safe for small children as the garden/flat is gated (twice)

This is a ground floor, 8 steps above the garden, with handrails on both sides to help climbing. The flat then is all on the same level. Suitable for people with mobility issues, although not for wheelchair users because of those entrance steps.

Graça (where we are) is an area with a bohemian but also very family-orientated atmosphere. Full of family restaurants and open-door cafes, as well as several public gardens and spaces for the kids to play outside.

10 min walk from Alfama , the castle of San Jorge and the famous flea market 'Feira da Ladra.
15 min walking distance from the National Pantheon of Santa Engracia and Lisboa's cathedral.
5-10 minutes walking distance from shops, supermarkets, restaurants and services such as banks and public transport - 28 tram, buses and taxis, et

A wonderful place to stay to explore Lisbon.

My family of 5 adults stayed at this lovely apartment for 2 weeks. It is very well located close to the castle and other attractions. from here we were able to visit all the sights and many restaurants in Lisbon. It has a lovely quiet and secluded garden filled with figs, that we had for our breakfast. We were able to spend many evenings sipping wine and the local cherry Brandy at the local view point, a place where others climbed up hill to go, for us a 2 minutes level walk! The views from the main bedroom and lounge were stunning and gave us spectacular sunsets to watch. The tram ( no28), is also a level walk away. This was very useful when after a long days sightseeing we returned home. There are plenty of local cafes and a couple of supermarkets with fresh produce and cakes and pastries to enjoy. Catarina and her family were very helpful during our stay when we needed them. We would recommend Lisbon and its rich culture, as a great place for weekend or like us an extended holiday with time to fully explore all it has to offer. If we ever go back, I would not hesitate to return to this lovely flat.

great location

Catarina was wonderful, responsive and as helpful as she could be. The location was great and there was lots of space and a fabulous view. She gave us helpful tips and recommendations. We were able to walk to anywhere we wanted to go and fabulous restaurants close by. However, I was a little disappointed by the space and surprised by the reviews. It is old and kitchen and bathroom were pretty run down. There is a slightly strange arrangement with walking through bedrooms to get to the common spaces. But the bathroom is really lacking, it's large but the shower curtain and mat were moldy and needed fixture upgrades to be functional. The kitchen was good for breakfast, but we wouldn't have tried cooking. We had to relight the pilot before every shower. Spotty wifi. If you have the right expectations and no more than 4 people it would work well.

While it is true that the net failed and there were problems, Tracy forgets to mention that the outside door's lock was broken and we waived any damage payment because of these. All bedrooms have an independent exit without passing by any bedroom. However, the 2nd living room, which is clearly tagged as such on the website, is a place of passage and if used as an extra bedroom.... That’s the price of a family of 5 each wanting their own bedroom. And while Tracy and her family were perfectly ok guests she never said a single thank you. Not when we sent her a compiled doc with info on the neighbourhood in order to improve their experience, neither every time we wished her a good day or a good journey nor when we sent her two nationwide reaching hotspots to use. Maybe it's a cultural problem, after all, I live in England, but it wouldn't hurt to think about that

Super logement pour découvrir Lisbonne

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Catarina ! Elle est parfaitement situé dans le centre ville de Lisbonne et offre une superbe vue sur la ville. Le petit espace extérieur au calme est un vrai plus ! Tout s'est très bien passé. Catarina a été très arrangeante sur les horaires d'arrivée et de départ. Nous recommandons sans hésiter !

Stunning views, lovely apartment

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time here. The apartment is really spacious and has the best view ever! The location is great, we walked to most places we wanted to visit, even with a 6 and 7 year old and a stroller to push. We spent our evenings with a glass of wine by the open window enjoying the sunset and the many lights in the city.

Wir haben mit 6 Personen ein verlängertes Wochenende in dieser Wohnung verbracht. Alles war wie beschrieben, die Kommunikation mit Catarina klappte sehr gut. Wenn man die vielen Treppen nicht scheut, kann man gut die Metro (1x umsteigen) vom Flughafen aus nehmen. Da wir als Gruppe mit einem Bad und einem Durchgangsschlafzimmer kein Problem hatten, würden wir diese Wohnung wieder mieten.

Dear Sabine thank you for the lovely review that I just translated below to help other guests: Perfect Fit We were 6 people staying a long weekend in this apartment. Everything was as described, the communication with Catarina worked very well. If you are not afraid of the many stairs, you can easily take the metro (1x change) from the airport. Since we had no problem with one bathroom and a walk-through bedroom, we would rent this apartment again.

Elegant historic scenic spacious and comfortable!

We were absolutely thrilled with this apartment and it exceeded all of our expectations. We felt like we were staying in someone’s elegant beautiful Graca home, and in-fact we were. The view out the window of the Castelo de S. Jorge and the old neighborhoods of Graca and Alfama was like being transported back in time. Up the road to the right, we could see the Jardim da Graça, were we spent several sunsets and very late evenings drinking wine. We took our breakfasts in the garden, and spent our days exploring the local neighborhood of Graca. For us, it was a lucky call, but Graca is without question the best place to stay in Lisbon. Catarina and her support team we super helpful. It was just three of us, husband, wife, four-year-old, and the house was very spacious and could easily hold more. Parking on the street was easy. We strongly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lisbon.

fantastische liggen in het oude deel van Lissabon

Heerlijk genoten van dit mooie appartement. Schitterend uitzicht op de stad vanuit het appartement en van het pleint op de hoek van de straat. Met tram 28 ben je zo beneden in het centrum, maar je kunt ook heerlijk dwalen door de kleine straatjes in de omgeving. Handige tip neem de taxi terug voor een paar euro sta je weer voor de deur en hoef je niet naar boven te lopen.

Fantastic location wirh a stunning view

This flat is brilliantly situated on top of the Graca hill, wirh a great window to appreciate the view, and only a few steps away from a beautiful Miradouro, from where you can overlook Lisbon while having breakfast. We stayed there with two people only, I would recommend the flat for a couple or a couple with kids as most beds tend to be on the small side and you would avoid fighting for the wonderful master bedroom!There are great restaurants around so you don't really need to cook, however, we really enjoyed the little garden for a pre-breakfast morning coffee. Catarina is a very attentive host, even from Britain she was always prepared to assist and help with things like a rusty key lock, also, from the office next door we got some hands- on help, really nice people who even ordered an early morning cab for us at the end of our stay. Lots of great ( English, Portuguese) books on the shelves, too!

Super Lage und entsprechende Aussicht

Der Preis ist zu hoch, da einiges aufzuarbeiten wäre. Die Kochnische lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig, die meisten Betten (wir waren 7 Personen), resp. Matratzen sollten dringenden ersetzt werden und im mittleren Raum zur Hofseite ist eine ganze Wand von Schimmel befallen. Da Catarina aus einer Doktorenfamilie stammt, wundert mich das mangelnde Bewusstsein bezüglich Gesundheit sehr. Das wäre sogar ein Grund für eine Rückforderung!! Ansonsten ist die Whg sehr attraktiv und hat ein schönes Cachet. Die Sicht auf die Stadt ist wunderbar!! und die Ausgangslage für alle möglichen Aktivitäten ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Rudolf that ceiling was painted in january, the stains are rain infiltration - if you looked at the remained walls it is clear that everything is newly painted. More important It's NOT a health hazard. But I asked for pics of the wall and in fact the problem got much worse in the last month so the wall is now being sorted. But you had my mobile, and 2 doors away is the office, if you were unhappy why not talk with us ? Never assume that people want to cheat you, instead give feedback directly so we can improve things for the next guests. On the price, you paid £20 per person/night and claim that was expensive...?

Catarina´s apartment is spacious, charming, with tasteful traditional furniture and a nice little garden. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Lisbon. Excellent location, excellent owner, ecxellent communication

I could write kilometers of praising for this vacation rental and its owner - but instead I will only say this: our group of three adults (with pretty long history of travelling together all over the world) has decided to come again next summer - and we made our booking for 2017 about two days after we had returned (better safe than sorry policy) from this great place. Thank you Brian - you saved our vacations at the point where it seemed totally ruined by a terrible rental we had to run away from right after we got there. It was well, well worth it to drive hundreds of kilometers alongside the Spanish coast to escape from hell and get to your lovely paradise! See you in August 2017!
