We barely left this beautiful home - the fabulous host and personal chef made our stay perfect! We had yummy shortribs, potatoes and celery root puree in the frig from the personal chef and the view to end all views off the back porch and landing near the beach. We spent almost all of our time outside, but the inside is beautifully finished with a fabulous kitchen and cozy bedrooms. We loved Camano Island and hope to be back!!
Very well done 2 br. 1 ba. with an absolutely gorgeous view and access to the beach. Beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped, house clean and plenty of hot water. Only one complaint and that is the lack of privacy with the neighbors. The house next door looks right into kitchen/ dining/ living room.
The property was everything I had hoped for as far as the view goes. It really filled our cup taking in the sound and sunsets. The master king bed was amazing, the bunkbeds were not listed as miniature beds (that would have been helpful to know). Our adult daughter ended up sleeping on the couch and her friend slept in the shed, which is absolutely adorable with a wonderful bed, however, the listing said it was heated. It was heated, but with NO INSULATION.....he was very cold and didn't get any sleep the first night, we bought a heated blanket for the second night and limped through and made the best of it. The table in the living area is unique and beautiful, but is not level and had a rock back and forth......the chairs were marginal and it was concerning that they would break. I would suggest advertising more accurately: this listing probably is best for two who are going to sleep in the king and 2-3 children or another couple in the shed in the milder weather months. I would stay there by myself or with my husband again and again, it is tastefully decorated and we loved the location.
Really liked the view, watching whales, and a warm fire as it was so cold. Definitely a cold winter break. Our grand-daughter really enjoyed the little separate room to read by herself in quiet and sleep in as the house is quite open concept.
This little beach house has everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s a short drive from the city, so if you need a quick escape that feels like you’re far away, this is the place. The master bed was super comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and the views can’t be beat. The owner is also easy to communicate with and quick to respond. We will be back!
This was the perfect place for a quick family getaway this weekend. The house is comfortable, cozy, and equipped with everything you need. So nice to be able to walk down to the beach and its proximity to restaurants and coffee shops was a definite bonus. Very comfy beds, too. Would love to stay here again!
This house isn't fit for everyone, but it was perfect for me, my wife, and my daughter. A gorgeous view of Skagit Bay and Whidbey Island are inescapable in this house through the large panoramic windows. The house itself is cozy and small, but with all the right thoughtful touches to feel cozy and enjoy your time there.
The "adult" bedroom is sparse but perfectly adequate with a comfy bed. The bunk room is very cozy for up to three kids. Our daughter tried all the low bed options and loved all three books, toys and oddities in the room.
The kitchen is well stocked and has a premium feel to it. A lot of cooking necessities are thoughtfully stocked, like salt, pepper, and oil.
We didn't use the bed in the shed, but it seemed cozy when we peaked in.
The best part of the house is outside. The view is definately the main attraction and can be enjoyed inside or out. Stairs bring you down to the quiet beach. A patio begs you to relax there in the breeze. The garden in the front is a beautiful escape, even in November. There's even a small kid house in the yard that our daughter tirelessly cooked in and cleaned. The side yard is large enough to enjoy summerlawn game activities like corn hole or ladder ball.
So why did I say this place wouldn't be for everyone? Well, we believe all the positives far outweighed the negatives. The place is small and old (although tastefully updated throughout). It's not well insulated, so it's a constant battle to get the temperature comfortable. It helps that the main heating option is a gas fireplace with a thermostat - so it may memorize you with it's flames until you realize you may just be cooking your family for dinner. The bedroom heaters and blankets were adequate but sleeping still required astute attention to any leaks in the covers they let in a draft. I
actually think this all added to the charm of the place, but I can see how some may find it a deal breaker in the winter.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and we were sad to leave. We'd love to stay again, especially in the warmer months so we can enjoy outside even longer.
Absolutely perfect. This home was even better than the photos. Warm, cozy, and comfortable. The decor was so thoughtful and just enveloped us from the moment we walked in. My 3-year-old son loved the bottom bunk and was “comfy cozy” - in his words! The king bed was heavenly for me.
All the amenities of home were there. The last few places I’ve booked were completely bare, down to no seasonings or even basic necessities. I came beyond prepared, but was pleasantly surprised by how well set up this home was.
The view is beyond amazing...we could have stayed for a month...or forever! Already planning our next trip back. Soon I hope! Thank you.
This charming house has a wonderful view of the bay and so much wildlife around. The kitchen is one of the best kitchens I have ever cooked in, with updated appliances and creature comforts. We saw various water fowl, seals, bald eagles, deer, hummingbirds, and wild birds. The terrace in the morning is full of peaceful shore sounds that I wish I could just bottle up and take home with me. The owner has good taste in decor and keepsakes. I felt comfortable and cozy- especially with the gas stove fireplace! So many things I would have chosen myself so I loved it. Thank you for sharing your treasures and darling home with us!
This light-filled, 50's white-painted-wood, beach-cabin-chic setting will not disappoint. The home is modest in size, tastefully updated, and set on a generous terrace at the edge of a high west-facing bluff. Visitors share this bluff with two close neighbors to the north, but have unobstructed views and privacy to the west and south. The main room, with its wall of glass and giant beautiful custom wood table are SO PEACEFUL. The detached shed, while equal parts charming and rustic, made the whole place seem way bigger, and was the perfect socially distant bedroom for our college-aged daughter. We had an amazing Christmas stay here. Fires on a private beach and everything. Hope we make it back.
