Escape your day to day life to come enjoy this house in the country. This is a great house for you, your family and friends. It has 3 bedrooms, living room, den, full kitchen, dining room, laundry room and a bathroom. It also boasts a large covered deck with a propane fire-pit and dining area so you can enjoy the great outdoors and watch the stars at night. This is a great rental to be away from the city life yet close to a lot of destinations. This house is within 1.5 miles to Ballahack Airsoft Field, Triple R Ranch, Northwest Naval Annex and Navy Exchange open to the public and a couple miles further is the Great Dismal Swamp, Bobs Fishing Hole/Boat Ramp, NC State Line and many more great places.

This home has 3 bedrooms, living room, den (with small work area), full kitchen, dining room, laundry room and a bathroom. It also boasts a large covered deck with a propane fire-pit and dining area so you can enjoy the great outdoors and watch the stars at night.

Depending on the weather and time of year, you may see some deer, wild turkey, lady bugs, mosquitoes, carpenter bees, lizards, water bugs, field mice etc. While we pay for routine and proactive pest control every blue moon there may be a sighting.

Sweet haven perfect for exploring Chesapeake

We stayed here while visiting our military family member nearby. It was perfect. The location was wonderful and the home is very comfortable and had what we needed for a couple of days visit. I would definitely stay here again!

My family had the best time. My grandkids loved the games. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful back porch. We played UNO while my husband watched tv and grilled. There was a TV in every room which saved us from having to watch cartoons. I look forward to future stays.

The pictures don’t do this place justice! Such a quaint, charming, and cozy home. Beds and pillows were comfy and we had plenty of hot water. The back porch was amazing!!! We loved sitting out there at night under the twinkle lights listening to nature. We even saw a couple dozen horses across the street one morning. Not sure if they were wild. Such a peaceful stay.

This property has been lovingly renovated by the daughter of the family who lived there. It’s comfortable, spotless, and has some features we didn’t have time to enjoy—a very large deck with a tv, a backyard fire pit, and a shelter with picnic tables.

Country Escape

Found this gem when planning a trip to the area to visit grandchildren. Besides the perfect location, the home offered generous space to spread out and relax. Everything you need is offered in a well equipped kitchen. The host creates a welcoming decor plus the convenience of flat screens throughout . You can expect excellent communication if needed and everything you might need is available to begin your stay. Hope we will be able to stay here when we plan our future visits!

We had a good stay at the house. Tracy is a super host and we had good communication. She left us a nice card and goodie basket to enjoy. We used it and made s’mores on the back deck fire table. The house was extremely clean, tidy and nicely decorated. We felt very comfortable and safe in the home. My granddaughter enjoyed the playground in the backyard. I would stay here again.

Dismal Swamp Kayak n Snake Extrzaganza

My son in law stayed here this year for it ease of accessing the intracoastal waterway, Lake Drummond and the wildlife refuge centers. Outstanding location n a home with every possible need making it a home away from home vibe ! Tracy is outstanding and deserves her hopes n dreams to keep the family home going strong while out of Townes seek adventure in the area !!!!! Private, convenient, home away from home

This little home is cute as a button! Well appointed, tastefully decorated, thoughtfully supplied, and much bigger than it looks! This home is rurally located, so be prepared for a short drive to town, but it was nice to not be in the thick of things and have some privacy. There is a huge covered deck out back with two seating areas, a fire pit, and a large TV. Beyond that is a giant backyard with swings and a jungle gym for the kiddos and lots of room for them to explore. Inside are three bedrooms, one bathroom, two living areas, a kitchen and a laundry room. We stayed for seven nights and ate most of our meals in the house. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking and it’s obvious that most folks leave their dry goods for the next family to use. Tracy was an excellent host, responding very quickly to any questions or requests. We would definitely stay here again.

Welcome to Cooks Country Escape! My name is Tracy. My husband and I have two grown kids, a daughter in law, two granddaughters, a rescue lab puppy and a cat. We have always loved staying in short term rentals so when I had the option to purchase this home from my parents estate I decided this was the best way to keep the house in the family and help pay the mortgage. This house is not just a house it is the home I was raised in. I have so many fond memories growing up in the house and I am hoping you will enjoy your stay and make your own memories here.

Why this property- because it is a quaint country house surrounded by woods without any neighbors around. The home inside is warm and welcoming to make you feel relaxed, comfortable and at home.

What makes this property unique

Some of the unique features of this property is the large covered back deck with a seating area, dining table, propane fire table and cafe lights. The ambiance is so welcoming at night. It is also great to be under it when it is raining so you can hear the rain on the tin roof.
There is also a great picnic shelter, playground, sand play area and fire pit in the woods behind the backyard with the same cafe lights. When you go in the woods you feel like you are miles away from everything. It is so relaxing! As I mentioned we just recently purchased the home so we are still clearing out the old vehicles but in the meantime, it adds character to the country way of life.
