  • Always perfect, great escape indeed!

"Have stayed here numerous times since 2008. First time back with kids. House is set up great for everyone to have their own space, but also to be together. Teens LOVED the observatory on the third floor, which has great views of the bay ( sunset, especially ) and very comfortable couches. Toddler was well contained on main floor ( we brought our baby yard gates ), but also enjoyed so much open space to run and explore. House is truly appointed as you would want your own to be. The pictures are absolutely accurate - this house is as pretty in person as the pictures appear. The kitchen has everything you need and then some, along with quantities that don't require the dishwasher to be run after every meal. The bedrooms are spacious and beautiful with soft sheets ( how many rentals have you stayed in with scratchy, budget linens? Not this place!! ). When the weather is warmer, there is plenty of pool/beach gear - no need to fill up your vehicle with sand toys, towels, or chairs. Driving there via Route 50 East/ 13 South is a great scenic tour of the MD/VA Eastern Shore, and avoids the craziness of I-95/I-64 ( adds maybe 30 minutes overall, but far less stress ). We drove past NASA Wallops Island and went to Chincoteague National Park on our way home. The owners are gracious to work with, and give you insight as to what to do while here. We walked the downtown beach, had facials ( Breezes Day Spa ), horseback riding ( this was the highlight of the trip for the preteen - went two days in a row! ), and just enjoyed being able to wind down. We did venture to Virginia Beach for the day, which is close enough (a little under an hour, on the engineering marvel Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel ) for a day trip. Easy drive to and from, and happy to come back from the hustle and bustle to the quaint serenity of Cape Charles. I am already plotting how to make a summer visit happen:)"

  • Superb!

"First time house renters - ever. We were very surprised and very impressed with this home. It is superbly kept, with every imaginable amenity available. Very warm and welcoming. The screen-in porch was our favorite morning coffee hangout. I taught the kids to play poker with the cards and chips (not sure this was a good thing). There were 8 full size bikes in the garage that we took advantage of all week. The grounds of the golf course were welcoming and extremely fun to explore on those bikes. In town there are many shops - the Brown Dog Ice Cream shop and the Pizza Pie shop were tops! Lastly, I want to say - the owner Brad was quite helpful and pleasant...though we only corresponded by email, he was courteous and timely every time I had a question. He made it relaxing for us - well done Brad! Brian"

  • Just as the description said.

"I have rented various properties in different locations through VRBO. This house was the best with supplies. This may seem trivial but there was hand soap at every sink, plenty of ice cubes ready in trays( sure an ice maker would be nice). Well stocked kitchen. This historical home was charming. Thankfully they upgraded with air conditioning, Internet, & cable tv. Impressed with Chesapeake Properties that managed the reservation. My first visit to Cape Charles. It was so quaint. Chesapeake Bay beach is great. I didn't have as much time to enjoy it, as I was there for a golf tournament at Bay Creek Resort. We ate at Oyster Farm Eatery & Shanty's. Would have eaten at Hook u Up, but they only serve dinner Tuesday- Friday. If this is peak summer season, I will say it is very low key. Some businesses are only open Wednesdays - Saturdays. There are no major brand restaurants or stores in the area. Frankly, I enjoyed that."
