The Ranch Cabin is a luxury cabin nestled at the base of Mount Magazine, the highest point between the Rockies and the Alleghenies. The cabin is private and isolated and has a gorgeous view of Mount Magazine from the fully furnished deck and the covered porch. The little house is fully furnished with a hide-a-bed couch in the living room and a recliner for him (or her) Outside on the deck, a fantastic night sky will greet you with stars so stupendous on clear cloudless nights it will literally take your breath away. And August is especially great with visible meteor showers. Grab a quilt and a pillow and spend half of the night outside.

You can nap in the hammocks during the day underneath the trees, or roam in the woods, build a fire in the rock garden in the woods and enjoy a good old fashioned cook out with hot dogs, marshmallows, and more. Plenty of wood provided. You just have to gather it. If you get tired of being outside we have supplied the cottage with Dish TV, many, many games, books, and many videos for you to enjoy.

Nearby is great hiking and swimming and magnificent Mount Magazine, one of the jewels in the crown of the Arkansas Parks System. You will experience fantastic photo ops, hang gliding, hiking, and a visitor center at the summit. On the way up, stop at pristine Cove Lake for a great swim. Enjoy also award winning dining nearby, wineries, and museums, float the Mulberry just 40 miles north, and travel an easy drive north to Eureka Springs, South to Hot Springs, or East to Little Rock. At Jack Creek and Knoppers Ford recreation areas you may even catch a glimpse of a shy black bear as you swim, picnic, hike, and enjoy the bluffs. Deer and coyote, owls and other wildlife are regular visitors at the cottage. And the whippoorwills will serenade you to sleep in the spring and summer months. Enjoy butterflies In June and herb hunting as your knowledge of nature grows.

Why Walene Beeler chose Arkansas

Ott Clare bought this property at the base of Mt Magazine in 1958. The original homesite, which originally had a log cabin, but a new house was built in 1990 on the same site. The cabin is on this property. Many locals have said we have the prettiest view of the mountain. Better than they have seen anywhere else in the county.

What makes this cottage unique

We love the peace and quiet here and the way the attributes of the mountain seem to be constantly changing. Sunrise and sunset can be dramatic. The whippoorwills in the spring and summer are so relaxing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I was trying to submit a review on your site and couldn't figure out how. First, I wanted to say how sorry I am for the misunderstanding about my inlaws coming up. I honestly did not think they were coming up this year. I did not find out until Thursday morning. Now for my review if you don't mind submitting it on your site for me ----

I highly recommend Circle C Cottages. The owners are amazing people. Jenny's cottage is beautiful. Has all the comforts of home. My boys thoroughly enjoyed being able to just head out a s go fishing (even tho they aren't very good at it!). The location is perfect for all the spots we wanted to visit this year. The views are great! We hope to see you again next year!! Thank you so much, The Purdons Naples, Texas

Quiet and Serene

  • 4 of 5

I was looking for a place to use as headquarters while my husband and I explored the Mt. Magazine area over a long weekend, when I found this cabin. It feels isolated (but not TOO isolated), and looks out over acres of pasture and a distant view of Mt. Magazine. It's truly peaceful - few man-made sounds anywhere, not even the sounds of cars!

We visited the nearby town of Paris several times, drove to Subiaco Abbey, visited a winery and toured the Arkansas wine country, and spent one whole day exploring Mt. Magazine State Park. We drove the quiet highways and enjoyed "just looking." I'm a native of the state, yet had never visited this section - it was amazingly beautiful!

The cabin was totally adequate - clean, cute and cozy, with everything you need. Walene left us some WONDERFUL cinnamon rolls that still make my mouth water when I think of them! If I had one complaint, it would be that the cabin, especially the kitchen, is pretty dark. It didn't seem to bother my husband (he read two books!), but I feel that better lighting would definitely add to the cabin's comfort.

Thank you for your hospitality, Walene! We had a wonderful holiday!

Very nice!

  • 5 of 5

Very cute cabin and great for anyone looking for a quiet, private getaway! The cabin was just as the pictures showed. I was impressed at how very clean it was! And the cinnamon rolls are amazing. Would definitely recommend this cabin, you may want to bring some food and drinks with you before u drive to it because it is several miles from town. We loved our stay!

Warm and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This place is warm and cozy. Super clean, great views, wonderful outdoor space. 30 min drive to Mt. Magazine. I would highly recommend staying here. Felt like home. Walene is very responsive and cooks some mean cinnamon rolls. Everything you need is provided. We hope to come back when it's a bit warmer out.

A nice, private cabin out on a farm but with a wooded area with all the amenities you would need!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I decided to take a spontaneous trip since he was out for a school holiday Monday and stumbled across Mrs Walene's cabin in Magazine. We had a blast! My son, who is 7, loved it as well. Cozy, comfortable, woodsy and farm-y at the same time, mountain view, peaceful, quiet; Orion LOVED the farm dogs that greeted us; they were so sweet! And Walene was a phenomenal hostess who took great care of us and had everything we needed. We even walked in to find cinnamon rolls on the counter YUMMMM! We drove to Mt Magazine, ate, hiked, and it was so nice to come back to this cabin away from the busy highways. My husband grilled the first night and we just heated stuff in the oven the next not to mention roasting hot dogs and marshmallows in the fire pit out back! And you can see every star in the sky! We don't live too far away and will definitely be back! Our favorite trips are our small, simple, spontaneous ones and this one is at the top of the list! Thank you for having us and being so kind, Walene! God Bless!

Fantastic start to the new year!

  • 5 of 5

We chose Magazine Mountain on a whim, never having been to Arkansas. We booked this cabin because of the beautiful pictures and reviews. How pleased we were with both the place and the cabin! We even had our first experience with real snow! Thank you for such a wonderful time! We can't wait to come back!
