The Loft Ethnic is a typical Canut-style apartment on the banks of the Saône, very close to Vieux-Lyon and a 10/15-minute walk from the presqu'île (town hall).

Tastefully renovated to a high standard, this 51 m² loft-style apartment is bright and enjoys a rare, unobstructed view over the Saône quays and the Chartreux Gardens. An ideal setting for a stay in Lyon and to discover the city, ideally located in a quiet neighborhood dating back to the Middle Ages.

A warm, designer atmosphere for this 3-person apartment on the 2nd floor of a secure building.

French ceilings and a breathtaking view of the Saône and Les Subsistances. Marble fireplace, oak parquet flooring, meticulous decoration and quality fittings.

The apartment comprises

- A spacious 35 m² living room with flat-screen TV, 4 large windows, coffee tables, storage cupboards with molding and sofa bed for one person.
- Dining area with table and 4 chairs.
- Open-plan fitted kitchen including steam oven, fridge with freezer, silent dishwasher, hob, hood, toaster, electric kettle, Nespresso capsule coffee maker...
- A mezzanine bedroom with 1 queen-size bed (160×200cm Confort Grand Hôtel) overlooking the Saône river and blackout blinds (approx. 1.50m high). 4* hotel-quality linen is provided (sheets, towels, tea towels), and your bed will be made up on arrival.
- A bathroom with two windows overlooking the courtyard, with walk-in shower and rain shower, washbasin and storage unit. Access from both the living room (sliding door) and the entrance hall.
- Separate WC at the end of the hallway adjoining the bathroom.
- Large dressing room with plenty of storage space, accessible from the entrance and bathroom.

A washing machine and tumble dryer are located just below the stairs to the mezzanine, as well as a clothesline, fan, ironing board and iron.

The apartment is ideally located in the city, in a very pleasant environment. You'll be close to all the essential shops (Bakery and organic grocery 100 meters away) but also boutiques, restaurants, bars, market...

- You can park close to the apartment on the quays, paying parking with a ticket machine or the flowbird application.
- Bus: Homme de la Roche stop - Lines 19 - C14 - 31 - 40
- Velo'v station 100m away: Homme de Roche
- Stop Navigone at 200 m , in front of the appartment .

LE LOFT ETHNIC We very much enjoyed our stay here. The neighbourhood is great and within walking distance to lots of restaurants, shops and sightseeing. We loved opening the windows and overlooking the river. We had a minor issue with the internet not working when we arrived but the person that met us to check us in was able to troubleshoot this quite easily for us. The ceilings are low upstairs and into the toilet are but we knew this when we booked it and didn’t mind too much. The charm and history of the space made the ceiling height worth it! Thanks for the wonderful stay in Lyon.

LE LOFT ETHNIC "I definitely would not return 🙂 The view onto the river was nice 🙁 The front door is covered in graffiti. The corridor access is dark and dinghy and the spiral staircase up 2 levels is tight and difficult to carry bags up. The loft bedroom ceiling was much lower than I had expected. While the location is only about 8 minutes walk to the beginning of the restaurant area, the walk at times (especially at night) felt unsafe."

Great view! … with a few drawbacks

The pictures are accurate. The kitchen appliances all worked as expected. The washer/dryer actually washed and dried. The location is very good. Buses run often, footbridge over river is 200m, nice little shops on the street such as the Pochat Boulangerie-Pâtisserie and easy access to the walkway at river level. But be aware of: 1 - low head space in some places. a. entry to toilet: At 1.7m tall, the entry is at your forehead. At 1.6m, you fit. b. cabinets over sink: At 1.7m or taller you may hit the upper cabinets when washing dishes. c. bed area: Everyone bends over in the loft. You can sit-up in bed and not hit the ceiling. (Fine for us but want to be sure others are aware.) 2 - steep steps to the loft. With no handrail, the steepness was uncomfortable. We went up and down as you would on a ladder. 3 - keys are difficult to work. a. the locks are very close to the wall so the 2nd key on the key ring can get in the way of turning the key in the lock. You may also bump your knuckles on the wall when turning. b. you need to pull very firmly for the locks to move into the door frame. (Happy I didn’t pull the doorknob off.) 4 - the 2 flights of stone circular stairs coming up to the apartment are well worn. Wished we had packed lighter as it was no fun carrying a large suitcase up the steps. There is a handrail which helps. But the steps can still be a challenge.

LE LOFT ETHNIC "Beautifully decorated apartment with a lot of comfort and a great view 🙂 This is a beautifully decorated and very comfortable apartment with a magnificent view of the river. It has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, even for extensive cooking. The bathroom is very comfortable with a well-functioning rain shower. I was welcomed by a very friendly young woman who was just cleaning the apartment and also gave me the key and all explanations. A large bed can be found on a mezzanine that has a bit of a low ceiling, but otherwise very comfortable. I really liked the decoration of the apartment and its old wooden ceilings, very stylish indeed. The location is a bit out of the city centre, but the centre is in walking distance and the location on the river is special. There is a bar/disco directly next to the building of the apartment and I was concerned about noise during the night, but this wasn't the case at all. The apartment was very clean, felt safe and is also practically set up with a lot of storage space. There are some shops nearby, but for more extensive shopping one has to go to the city centre. Lyon is wonderful city with many superb restaurants. 🙁 As said, it is really a beautiful place but there are two issues of concern in terms of safety: there is a somewhat slippery and uneven staircase leading to the apartment, which may be awkward for those that are less mobile. And it is strange there is not some kind of (low?) railing on the mezzanine. The mezzanine is quite high and the stairs leading to it rather narrow with no railing either. It would be good to maybe consider some adjustments in terms of safety there."

Tolle Raumaufteilung und schöner Ausblick auf den Fluss, bequeme Betten, viele Magazine/Bücher, stilvolle Möbel. Altstadt und Fourvière sind einfach zu Fuß erreichbar, auch wenn das Haus nicht unmittelbar im Zentrum liegt. Weil das Apartment so gemütlich ist, lässt sich hier auch ein Regentag gut verbringen. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren die benachbarten Bars geschlossen, sodass ein ruhiger Schlaf kein Problem war. Auch wenn es ein Schlafsofa gibt, würde ich die Wohnung eher für zwei statt vier Personen empfehlen, weil sich alles in einem Raum befindet. Restauranttipp in 10 Minuten Entfernung: Bistrot Bondy :)"
