THE NEIGHBORHOOD

La Carolina is central, well connected, and known for its dining, shopping, and outdoor life.

Parque La Carolina, Quito's most iconic urban park, is a 6- to 10-minute walk away and is ideal for morning runs, weekend cycling, or unwinding after a day of work or sightseeing.

For coffee, Coffee Factory sits at the southwest corner of the park, serving Ecuadorian specialty coffee and homemade pastries. For lunch, De La Llama offers contemporary Ecuadorian cooking with fresh local ingredients at reasonable prices.

Avenida República de El Salvador and Avenida de los Shyris, both minutes away, are lined with international restaurants, wine bars, Japanese and Italian kitchens, and rooftop terraces.

Supermaxi and other major supermarkets are a short walk or taxi ride away. Quicentro Shopping, with more than 200 stores, a food court and a supermarket, is minutes away by taxi, as is El Jardin Mall.

GETTING AROUND

The UNESCO-listed Historic Center of Quito, one of the best-preserved colonial old towns in Latin America, is approximately 15-20 minutes away by taxi, depending on traffic.

Mariscal Sucre International Airport is around 43 km away via the Ruta Viva highway. Allow 45 to 60 minutes in moderate traffic, and more at peak hours. I recommend leaving extra margin for departing flights.

Ride-hailing apps including Uber, DiDi, and inDrive operate throughout La Carolina at any hour and are reliable and affordable. Street taxis are also readily available.

WHEN TO VISIT

At 2,850 meters above sea level, Quito's climate stays mild all year, which is why it is known as the City of Eternal Spring. June through September tends to be the driest stretch, and the rest of the year typically brings afternoon showers rather than all-day rain. There is no bad season to visit.

The altitude can take a day to adjust to. Take your first day gently and drink plenty of water.

Do I pay the full price if we are only four? No. The nightly rate covers up to 4 guests, and a per-guest charge applies only beyond that. A group of four pays noticeably less than a group of eight, so you are not paying for space you do not use.

Do you offer rates for longer stays? Yes. Reduced nightly rates apply automatically to stays of a week or longer, with a further reduction for stays of a month or more.

Is parking available? Yes. Private parking is included at no extra cost, and your space is reserved for the duration of your stay.

How does check-in work? You are met at the building by the on-site concierge or security guard, who hands over the keys on arrival. No lockboxes or complicated codes. Please send your estimated arrival time in advance so I can coordinate.

What are the check-in and check-out times? Standard check-in is 15:00, and check-out is 11:00. I am flexible whenever the calendar allows, so let me know your schedule in advance, and I will do my best to accommodate you.
