You'll be able to snuggle up with ease in this lovely home, nestled on a wooded hillside for privacy and boasting a gorgeous view of the mountains. Light a fire in the private fire pit in the front yard, or come inside to warm up around the wood-burning fireplace. The family dog is welcome to come along - there's room for everyone to sit and enjoy the view in the screened-in sunroom. A desk workspace is set up right next to the downstairs gas fireplace, so you can finish up remote work while staying warm. Central air conditioning and a ceiling fan in each bedroom will ensure everyone stays comfortable no matter when you visit. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher for easy cleanup, a breakfast bar with seating for three, and both a coffee and espresso maker for early mornings. The private gas grill has its own covered space, so it’s always ready for your burgers and veggies. Let the memories commence at this home built for fun together!

When it's time to explore, you're located within the golf community of Mill Creek Country Club, which is open to the public and offers 18 holes of affordable golf for guests. The town of Franklin lies just six miles away, so you won't be too far away from groceries or a cold one at Lazy Hiker Brewing Company. Fans of outdoor activities will be able to enjoy hiking trails and waterfalls throughout the surrounding area.

Summer Mountain visit

We have stayed at this property several times. The house has a great floor plan for extended families. The screened porch is wonderful. Most of the furniture in the house is great. The bedding is old and needs to be replaced. The beds are pretty comfortable. The porch furniture needs to be replaced since the seats are sagging. The driveway is very steep so beware. All in all, we will stay here again when we visit family in the area.

Beautiful home nestled in the mountains

My wife, daughter and myself had a wonderful stay at Mountain Joy! The home was clean, comfortable and private. We took walks daily through the community and had the pleasure of seeing deer on a regular basis and one sighting of foxes. There were hummingbirds and a variety of other birds, which regularly visited the birds feeders on the second floor. The fire pit was pleasant and overlooked the mountains. Being able to barbecue outside on the patio and listens to the crickets was also enjoyable. The house was large and had several rooms, which helped when putting the girls to sleep. The community had a lovely golf course, unfortunately did not have time to play this trip, but will do so next time. Franklin was a nice town with a lot of events going on, which was a pleasant surprise! It was also close to Cherokee and Highlands. We had a laid back and enjoyable trip! Will definitely visit again!

The perfect fall getaway!

This spacious and cozy house nestled in the picturesque mountains was the perfect fall getaway for our family! There was always a beautiful view of the leaves changing from the 2 porches. Having coffee in the morning watching the birds eat out of the many bird feeders hung close to the upper porch or simply rocking away on the rocking chair downstairs brought us so much joy. The house was adorably decorated to fit the mountains and all the furniture and beds were comfy and great for relaxing. The small town had some great restaurants and breweries with live music in the square. Just a great place to stay!

Very nice place but cleaning service was poor

Spacious, well-maintained, nicely decorated with a well laid out floor plan. Beautiful property. HOWEVER, floors were filthy. Visible dirt and food crumbs throughout the entire house. Entire view off living room balcony horribly obscured by fingerprints and smudges. Dishes in cabinets have encrusted food on them- eggs dried on frying pan, rings in glasses, grease and stuck on food on baking pans. Apparently dishes in DW were put away dirty. Looks like soap dispenser didn't open, but cleaning staff put dishes away anyway. No vacuum cleaner in unit. Since our family came in at different times, one member brought a vacuum and we had to vacuum the entire home ourselves, wash every dish and piece of silverware before using, wipe down counter tops, and shake crumbs off furniture. Given the visible uncleanliness, we also washed the sheets on every bed because we doubted the cleanliness of those as well. We liked the place but were HIGHLY disappointed in the cleanliness. REALLY feel like our "Cleaning/Housekeeping" fee should be refunded since we had to clean the place before we could comfortably use it. In fact, feel like we should get one night rent knocked off since our first night we were up until 4 AM cleaning the place.

The cabin is great for families. Close to Franklin, in a gated golf community. The cabin had everything, plus more.

Good Porperty but way overpriced

The house was good but it was overpriced. The beds were really horrible and 2 of us had back issues after first night. We didn't find the kitchen towels.

Nice Getaway, but…

This house was very spacious; however, it’s a little dated. The closed in patio off den is a nice addition. If you want to settle in for a movie (or are a Braves fan), cable is very difficult to navigate along with poor internet connection. We were able to get after many attempts by signing in with our own login information. A suggestion I would have regarding the gate would be to notify guests upon arrival to get remote first. We were given an access code and no one answered when we were trying to get back in. Fortunately, we were able to follow a car in and didn’t have to wait too long. The situation was taken care of the following day. Although there were a couple of blips, we still had a wonderful time with lots to do - fly fishing was the best!

Mountain Joy House - Franklin NC

We had a lovely stay at Mountain Joy house in Franklin NC. The house was laid out perfectly and comfortable. The front porch is awesome. Having 3 bathrooms was a wonderful feature. It was great having a separate living area along with the bedroom downstairs. We enjoyed the rocking chairs outside the bedroom on a small patio. When we arrived the door was unlocked by the kitchen area which was a little unsettling. By the back door there were 3 large trash bags on the porch. We did not touch the bags. A board on the back patio was broken upon arrival. I took a photo and sent an email to Vacasa with photos of the trash bags and the broken board on the porch. The table on the back porch was nasty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The area around the house should have been blowed for the leaves prior to a guests arrival to make it look more manicured. We know leaves fall but it was not very attractive outside. We never found where you could turn on the lights under the carport. We arrived after dark and found it very difficult to find the house in the dark. We really liked the inside of the house but I don't think we will go back. There is essentially no yard. There is a fire pit but it's on a hill at the end of the driveway. Thanks but no thanks.

Great place

Backyard is literally a mountain. dog and kids loved it. Left our youngest ‘s small stuffed animal (a bunny). Tried / trying to get in touch with a property manager to see if they found it. Haven’t been able to get in touch despite reaching out through vrbo. This might be more of a vrbo thing

Wonderful oasis in the Smoky Mountains

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Had some plumbing issues but maintenance came directly to fix that. Loved the community we stayed in. If your husband is a golfer the course says it is public.

Terrible experience

We a group of 6 adults and 1 pet had checked in for a weekend trip. On Saturday evening while we were grilling we accidentally got locked out. We couldn’t directly contact the owner. So ,we tried to get in touch with customer service, we were told there is a lock box... which had keys. The keys were not working with any of the locks of the house. So the backup they had was useless. We spent close to 1 -1.30 mins waiting for maintenance guy after which we learnt the message was never delivered by the customer service. We were so disappointed by this service. After calling them again, a property caretaker was sent to help us. He had the original keys. He took another 1-1.15 mins to come. We were stranded outside the house for close to 3 hours. All of this happened and yet we were not given any phone no’s or owners contact. We were simply relying on their phone calls. I am Very disappointed by the poor communication and such callous approach towards this situation. I don’t recommend vacasa rentals at all. So far my worst home rental experience.
