The OVO Network team’s opinion -

Chalet 65bis is a detached, two-storey home for six guests with three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Its location in the charming market town of Thônes is perfect for a group who would like to explore the Aravis mountains but still want all the facilities of a busy town nearby. But despite the town location, there's a surprising amount of outside space, with a large lawned garden and two terrace areas.

The three double bedrooms all have their own bath or shower room - a real bonus when you're all rushing to get ready for a day out. We also love the open-plan living area, with a cosy seating area for watching TV or catching up with friends, a fabulous kitchen with plenty of space to cook up a tasty meal and a dining table big enough to all eat together.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
We require a security deposit of €1,000 via a pre-authentication of your credit or debit card, which does not affect your card balance. The pre-authentication will be released as soon as we’ve checked the property and confirmed there is no damage. This is normally done right after your stay, but it could take up to 14 days after your departure.

If you cancel your booking and are due a refund, we will deduct any third party payment processing or foreign exchange fees related to the booking that we have been charged from the amount refunded.

Located in the lovely small town of Thones, this is a great place to stay for access to walking in the stunning mountains in every direction. And a short drive from beautiful Annecy lake.

Comfortable, with a very well-equipped kitchen. Walking distance from the shops etc. Two excellent bakeries in town, and a reasonable supermarket. Very good base for mountain walking. The floors are hard so take a dog bed!

We had a very nice stay at Chalet 65 bis, which is very well equiped and suitable for up to 6 adults. Check in an check out were easy and friendly, everything concerning the Chalet was as described and the area is very nice. Strongly recommended.

Enjoyable stay. The house is well-suited for a family. The kitchen is equipped beyond expectations, with everything you need and more. The ski resort is not far, accessible via a pleasant route. We often went sledding with the children.

We chose this because it was beautiful and it was as-advertised. The house has been redone and has all of the modern amenities. The location has breathtaking views and the village is charming, close to everything you’d want to do.

Great place to stay, everything is there. Minor points to pay attention to: the garden is not completely fenced off, so take care with small kids and pets. And the road next to the house can be busy in the mornings on weekdays. Not a big deal, just something to consider mentioning.

Cozy chalet near Thones

Lovely chalet and only a 5-minute stroll into Thones. The chalet was well-equipped with everything we needed for a week's stay. It rained a lot, so we spent more time in the chalet than we had hoped for. Maybe the lounge area could be made more comfortable. Also, the road outside is very busy, and the early morning traffic is noisy, especially if you sleep with the windows open. Some of our party were also not fond of the windows in the bathrooms of the downstairs rooms, which look into the bedrooms. Maybe it's just a British thing? Overall, a deserving 4/5 rating as we enjoyed our time there.
