When we arrived, we saw a few flying insects which we have since learned are "pantry moths." As we spent more time in the house, we discovered there is an INFESTATION of pantry moths. They were flying through the rooms, crawling on ceilings, climbing on walls, crawling on windows, etc. We killed about 60 of them in 24 hours.
We called VRBO customer service for help and sent them photos and video clips. We also contacted the owners. They said they sent a pest control person - but, according to widely available online information about pantry moths, it can take up to 6 months to get rid of them. These aren't pests where one visit from an exterminator will solve the problem. You have to find the source of the infestation.
We did not want to stay and be surrounded by either living moths or dying moths, whatever chemicals were allegedly sprayed (our 2 dogs were with us), and we did NOT want to bring their eggs and larvae home to our house. The homeowner was polite and friendly -- but had ZERO intention of giving us our money back even though WE DID NOT STAY THERE for 5/7 nights. RUN -- do not book this property!!!!!! Don't say we didn't warn you!!!!!!!! (P.S. -- The "heated pool" was not heated. They told us how to heat it, and it turned out there was not enough water in the pool to actually heat it. And it was filled with a disgusting layer of scum. And they wanted to charge us more per day just to turn the heat on...) ZERO STARS. ZERO FUN. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO VACATION.
