The Chinquapin Canal opens into Blind River and is a short boat ride to Lake Maurepas as well as the Diversion Canal. Along both routes, there are endless places for fishing, frogging, and touring places most people never get to see from land. Whether you fish from the dock for catfish, or hit the stumps in your own boat for wide mouth bass, spotted bass, sac a lait, and other native fish to the area, you are almost sure to bring home a great dinner.

This area and the lake are also prime tubing, skiing, and wake boarding spots. A little closer brings you to the Diversion Canal that hosts Canal Bank, Dicarlo’s Food and Spirits, Lagniappe, and Rum Buoy’s. If you don't have a boat and need to rent one, you can contact Geaux Outdoors for availability.

This places was awesome, exactly what we wanted my wife wanted to move in, we loved it! Great hospitality is an understatement we cant wait to go back!
We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was nice and the kitchen was well equipped. Meeting the neighbor, David, and Stephen's cat and dog were all fun for the kids. There was very little traffick on the road which helped make it a peaceful location.
The house was BEAUTIFUL and so so relaxing! It was so fun to sit outside and watch the boats go by. Communication was great and super quick at responding. We would definitely stay here again!
The location is so peaceful and the house had everything we needed for the perfect vacation. It was a close drive to New Orleans and all the sightseeing we did. We never saw our hosts and they responded quickly to questions we had. It was a wonderful stay!
Looks just like the pictures, perfect place to stay for the weekend. We really enjoyed our weekend away. Owner is very friendly, and next door if you need anything. We had a great time. Would absolutely stay here again.
