Great spot in Door County
We had a great stay at this cabin. The view of Kangaroo Lake is fantastic. The screened in porch, dining area and sleeping porch were a huge hit with our family. Kids loved using the row boat and canoe. We had six people there and there was more than enough space. Always love having laundry facilities available. As mentioned, no wifi but you don't need it! Great to check out for a week and enjoy the surroundings. Plenty of restaurant and beach options around. Great hiking at some of the state parks.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay...Kangaroo Lake is a special place and we are thrilled to share it with you. We hope that you will choose the Log Cabin on Kangaroo Lake and stay with us again the next time you come to Door County!
A Little Piece of Paradise
The Log Cabin on Kangaroo Lake is the perfect setting if you're looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate. The screen porches provided us with a perfect spot to read and to socialize during rainy and sunny days. The separation of bedrooms (two upstairs, master off the screen porch) provided plenty of privacy for all. There is a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room, which was perfect in the cool evenings. The kitchen is a little tight, but sufficient. My extra tall husband (6'7") did bump his head frequently on the kitchen light.
The Andersens live near by and are lovely people. They take great care of the property.
This is a rustic cottage that is everything a cottage should be!
Great week at a rustic Door County cottage which reminds me of the way Door County used to be. Enjoyed morning coffee in the gazebo, grilled dinners in the screen porch, watching the moonrise over the lake while sitting at a campfire. All is right with the world when you are here with family. The dock worked fine for our 18 foot boat and the sandbar just off the point was fun for frisbee and other shallow water games while the youngest could play on the inner tube.
We are so thrilled that you found a perfect family retreat. We hope that like many families who come back year after year that the sunny days and even the rainy ones will be followed by a campfire by the water and memories will be made. Come back and see us again!
Peace and proximity
The charm of this property cannot be overrated. The landscape was so well cared for, yet not at all fussy. The ferns just becomes you to relax. He house itself is wonderfully quirky, following no modern day typical floor plan. Knowing the mosquito possibilities in Door Co, the screened porches, including the screened " hallways" we're genius! Walking out to the shoreline, watching the beginning or end of the day is a blood pressure reducer. The house is clean, charmingly and well furnished. Having the laundry facility there was a great boon. The kitchen is small, but it works. And there are two big tables to accommodate meals. When you are there, you could truly forget the rest of he world! However, all this comes with the bonus of being within Door County and access to all it offers. The owners were also wonderful to work with. We are hoping to make this a tradition.
We are just thrilled to share the little gem on Kangaroo Lake. We hope you will come back again some time.
Lovely, spacious, comfortable
The cabin was perfect for our family of four and our dog. The screened in gazebo (huge), dining area, and sleeping porch (awesome) were all so great and relaxing places to chill out! The cabin was appointed with plenty of towels, sheets, etc. and had cute, thoughtful decor. It really felt comfy. The entire cabin was just perfect for us. The close access to the lake was perfect and the chairs, pier, and fire pit made enjoying the scenery easy. Being in close proximity of the towns was great and we loved the secluded nature of the cabin. It was really what we all needed and we had a lovely time!!! I, in particular, loved the sleeping porch and slept out there the entire stay! It was a real treat. Thank you.
Thank you. We are so happy to allow guests to bring their dog with them. It is a wonderful spot to allow your dog some freedom and enjoy the family vacation with you. The screened porch and gazebo are such a bonus for people and the canine companion. There is nothing like sleeping under the stars, but the screened porch is as close as you can get and not share the outdoors with the critters!
