Great House with Terrific Ocean View - Beach Lovers Paradise

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Enjoy our bright and beachy 3rd tier home, Halliday Time, with an unobstructed view of the ocean as you sip coffee on the porch. Prefect house for a family or 2 couples. No high rise condos or crowds here - sometimes the dolphin will be the ONLY things you will see - Ft Morgan is an undiscovered jewel for those looking for a true beach getaway. The elevated porch is covered in the center, and open on both sides. From here, you can read a book, watch a GORGEOUS sunset, see the Blue Angels on training flights and SO much more. Enjoy a walk with your dog along the water on one of the last pet friendly beaches on the Gulf. Halliday Time is the PERFECT beach get-away. From the second you walk through the glass doors, the stress will melt away, and you will be on Halliday Time.

We have decorated Halliday Time with the pride of our own beach home - not a rental. Bright and comfortable furnishings. Luscious sheets, mattresses and towels will ensure a peaceful sleep. All the amenities are provided in the kitchen - from a blender to a lobster pot for all your fresh shrimp!

Located just outside Morgantown. This is a unique third tier house with no houses directly between you and the beach. Just an easy 150 yard stroll directly out the front of the house makes spending the day on the beach as easy as grabbing a cooler and towel. The beach is what the Gulf is known for - white sand, bright blue green waters, shore fishing, dolphin, sea turtles and relaxing.

Premiere golf is just a couple miles down the road at Kiva Dunes or the Peninsula. Fish for pompano, whiting, and flounder from the beach - or chase redfish and speckled trout in the bay. Also, just 15 miles into Gulf Shores is all the extra entertainment you might need - go-carts, putt putt golf, a water park, The Little Zoo That Could, outlet shopping and much more! It's far enough to keep the crowds away, but close enough to reach on a cloudy day! Just 2 miles away is the Beach Club resort where you can book a spa treatment or have a nice dinner. The historic Ft. Morgan is just 5 miles down at the end of the island where the Ferry departs for Dauphin Island and the Estuary.

It's a secret gem. It's classic beach house on stilts where you can get away from the crowds and stress of today, but still have your modern day conveniences. House is newly remodeled with new furnishings. Upon inquiry, we'll send you detailed information about the area and all the fun stuff to do - so that when you get there, you'll already feel familiar with the surroundings - leaving more time to enjoy your vacation.

About The Owner

We're from Nashville, TN. In 2006, we completed our dream of owning a place at the beach and have been fortunate to visit often. While down there, we enjoy jogging, biking and most of all not doing anything but relaxing and eating good seafood. Kayak fishing - both in the Gulf and the Bay - is my new found activity. We think our dogs - a Black lab and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever may just enjoy the beach more than we do. We look forward to sharing our place.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Gulf Shores

Having never visited Ft Morgan before, we felt like we stumbled on a secret treasure in 2006 -no high rise condos, no crowds, dog friendly beaches, beautiful sand and great fishing - heaven for us. We were sold on this house because there are only vacant lots between it and the water giving us a great view from the deck - and a wildlife sanctuary immediately behind us.

What makes this house unique

Dolphins swimming along the coastline, fresh shrimp, a TRUE get-away. We also love the Blue Angels overhead when they practice, the sea turtles when they hatch, the Rays when they are mating and the sun when it is shining! Gorgeous Gulf waters can't be beat!

Great for watching wildlife with a sea turtle nest on the beach, the Alabama Gulf Coastal Birding Trail, dolphins, manta rays and crabs in various seasons cruising the beach; Blue Angels training flight pattern; great shore fishing for pompano, whiting, red fish & more! Short Ferry Ride to Dauphin Island Estuary; Set-up with puzzles, Board games & cards like the beach used to be - bring your shovels, a good read and family - not your Gameboy, videos & computer (though we do have DVDs & Wi-Fi).

Love this place!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for the two of us and our dog. We have been looking for a place where we could enjoy our four legged child surrounded by other people who also love dogs. We finally found it. The home was comfortable and perfect for us to enjoy ourselves without worrying about our dog bothering other people. The owner was great to work with throughout the process. We will be back!

Fantastic stay.

  • 5 of 5

The house was just what we were looking for. Great view of the gulf. Short walk to a very quiet beach. The owner has thought of all the things to make a great stay. Perfect for two couples traveling together. Away from the bustle, but a close drive to anything that you would want to do. Thanks, Haylee.

Our 4th Stay, Time to Rave!

  • 5 of 5

Our wonderful stay is winding down (it's Friday), but I want to share how happy and grateful we are to have Halliday Time for our beach vacations. Before we found Fort Morgan we bounced around the Gulf from Destin to Panama City Beach. Then, in 2014, we found Halliday Time. It's beginning to feel like home and our dog Scooter feels the same. My favorite time is early morning when we sit on the covered deck, watch the sky paint the sand dunes that sit between us and the private beach. So quiet, except for the birds and occasional runner. Bring your binoculars because we frequently watch dolphins hunting for their breakfast in the shallow waters! We haul our umbrella and chairs to the beach on Day 1 and leave them there all week. Nobody bothers them, it becomes our "spot". The kitchen is well-equipped (new refrigerator this year!) and the washer and dryer get a lot of use. Bathrooms are large, beds are comfy, and there's lots of room to spread out. We noticed nice new carpeting has been installed for this year, new items beneath the sink, etc. Currey and Haylee have a real gem here. Thank you for letting us enjoy it! We'll be back in August!

Owner's Response: Awwwww. Thank you SO much. We love our repeat guests (and welcome new ones). We love when people love the area as much as we do. We feel so honored to be able to share a slice of paradise with others who appreciate the same type of beach experience that we do. We try to keep it a place that does feel like home and it's just a "rental." Can't wait for your return!

The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Halliday Time Oct. 1-8, 2015 with our two dogs and had a fantastic time. This was our dogs first trip to the beach and they loved it. The house is very cozy and is in a perfect location to easily access the beach and everything else you would need. Very peaceful and relaxing. It was really nice because we didn't have to bring anything...the house had it all which was a nice surprise because most rentals don't have everything you would need. They even had dog bowls. :) We will definitely be renting again and look forward to going back. The neighbors were also very friendly and helpful! The perfect getaway!

Family of three LOVED our stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family of three stayed at Halliday Time March 18-22, 2014. This house was absolutely perfect for our needs. We had everything we needed, plenty of kitchen supplies, beach chairs, hot water, and a lovely master bath. The covered deck was perfect for our child to play on, or to have lunch or adult "happy hour" watching the sunset. Amenities including wifi (necessary for a "working vacation"), along with TVs, DVD players, music, plenty of books and games, made this a wonderful getaway. The interior was decorated for beauty AND comfort.

The walk to the beach was MUCH shorter than we expected, not a problem at all for multiple trips during the day, (we didn't even need the thoughtfully provided cart), and the nights were quiet and peaceful. We hope to rent Halliday Time again, dealing with the owners was easy and we were grateful to have such ease in renting, from such lovely people.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Halliday Time the second week of June and it was just perfect! First off, you would never know that this house allows dogs: it smells fresher and has less dog hair than my own home! The furnishings were great quality and comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the beach was a VERY short walk across the sand, and the master bath is heavenly.

We love coming to Fort Morgan because the beach is never crowded, and I think the beach in front of Halliday Time may be the least crowded section at that! We never had anyone set up a blanket or chairs closer than 20 feet away - probably more! We also left the canopy and chairs at the beach the whole time we were there (took the shade off at night) and it was fine. We saw dolphins daily, rays, turtles, and tons of fish! We can't wait to go back next year!

Thanks so much for the perfect vacation Haylee and Currey!
