Just completed an extensive remodel of this beautfully decorated home with beautiful views of Rough River Lake. Conveniently located on the "South Fork" part of the lake in Holiday Rough with quick access to Leitchfield for shopping and restaurants! Short drive to several marinas for easy boat rental including Peter Cave marina, State Dock and Nick's boat dock. Some other area attractions include: golfing at Falls of Rough resort and golf club, hiking at Rough River Dam state park and Mammoth Cave (approximately 49 miles away), Elizabethtown Sports Park (38 miles) and Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo (46 miles). Relax and unwind in the brand new hot tub or on the deck with views of the lake. This home is perfect for gatherings with guests of all ages! Inside you’ll find a brand new custom eat-in kitchen that opens to living room. The basement also has a spacious living room perfect for movie watching with a laundry, full bath and two bedrooms on lower level. Lastly the adorably decorated loft with amazing lake views has a full bath and 2 queen beds.

There was miscommunication between VRBO and the owners. They didn’t know we were coming so the property was just as the last visitors had left it. Also it had snowed and the steps and walkways were covered in ice and snow. We were expecting guests all of retirement age, the next day. The owner had addressed and resolved all these issues before any of our guests arrived. Very impressed by the owners attention to these challenges.

A beautiful place to relax with friends

I met up with a group of friends and we had a blast! The hot tub was a very nice amenity and the separate rooms let us all get some privacy. The two things I would comment on are make sure you bring toilet paper, trash bags and paper towels. There is not a very big supply there and that is not something I have usually had to supply. The top floor was also very warm, which made it a bit hard to sleep up there. Showers were a little odd with how you switched between tub and shower mode, but we figured it out. Overall, an amazing place and the hosts were great with communication. Would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay again if in the area. It was also close to some cool experiences like mammoth cave.

Wonderful Property

The host was excellent, easy communication and very accommodating. The house is so cute and well equipped. The bedrooms are very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hot tub was a nice addition for our stay.

Great location and area

We traveled to Kentucky with a group of friends and wanted to stay near Mammoth Caves, and actually ended up traveling to Louisville as well. The house was pretty much in the middle of the two areas. The addition of the extended patio by the hot tub was a great feature for being outside with friends. The house was exactly as described and had plenty of space for all us! Thank you!

Sparkling clean, with great outdoor spaces facing water & woods, in quiet neighborhood. Well-stocked kitchen. Bonus: adjustable shower faucets can be hand-held. Susan promptly answered inquiry about restaurants, shopping, boat rental, etc., with very helpful info.

Great for a group

We had 3 families stay and had plenty of room! The outdoor areas are great. We loved the remodel on the home and had plenty of space to gather on the first level. The rooms were all comfortable. Communication with the host was great and she gave us many helpful tips for the area.

Special Birthday Gathering a Success

Wonderful home with a nice lake view. Good quiet neighborhood. Very well equipped for cooking in and even a easy safe spot to cook s’mores off the lower level with hot tub. Only slight negative is the yard is quite steep in back, so not too good if there are a lot of little kids who need to be outside.

Beautiful and comfortable

This property was exactly what our large family needed for rest and relaxation. The home was extremely clean. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and great gathering areas for us to spend time together. The view was beautiful and the neighborhood was very quiet. We would definitely book this property again.

Nice lake house

House was nice and accommodated our group well. My only hang up was the descriptions/location of the listing, it was listed as being 20 min from Mammoth Cave National park, which was our destination. Ended up being over an hour away. Also several thing about the property are not listed in the descriptions, but we’re revealed with the check in instructions, house is lakefront but no lake access, neighborhood has a dock, but no access for renters. Otherwise it was a nice and clean property, just needs a better description for renters to get the best use of the house.

Wonderful home. Three generations of family stayed comfortably.

Very clean; attentive host. We would stay here again. We do suggest supplying one dishwasher pod for each day of stay instead of just 2.

Peaceful retreat

The home was beautiful, with ample room for us and our children. We enjoyed the porch with partial view of the water. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. The teens enjoyed the loft area as their own separate nook. Lots of space and everything we needed. Thank you to Susan for being so responsive when we inadvertently locked ourselves out.

Comfy and convenient

We had a great time! There was plenty of room for everyone, especially with a bathroom on each level. The kids enjoyed the loft beds. No access directly to lake, but 15 minute walk to boat launch or 15 minute drive to public beach was convenient. The hot tub was a nice touch, and the host was very responsive when we had questions.
