Great Stay!

This house was perfect for us and our friends! It was clean, check in was easy, the house was adorable (we loved the decorations), the host was great at communicating with us, and we were very close to the national park! We would definitely stay here again!

As a huge movie buff, this house was a dream to stay in! Love all the decor and the overall theme of the house. Above ground pool was destroyed in a windstorm and was just a skeleton in the corner of the yard, but we did not go there to swim. We were married there on the front porch at sunset with only 3 friends present and it was an absolutely magical sunset wedding on our 7th anniversary...in an awesome house, in a gorgeous desert. Also an amazing location to stargaze at night! We had a lovely time there and would definitely stay there again! Thank you to the host for letting us stay in your beautiful funky home! Will definitely recommend others to stay here.

Close to the NP entrance!

My cousin and I had stayed here for easy access to Joshua Tree National Park entrance for the meteor shower and it was great. The property manager responses very quickly to resolve any hiccup we faced.

Unhygienic & Unhelpful

The house and the service were the worst we’ve ever experienced in Vrbo. Or at any lodging for that matter. Our messages to the host regarding check-in were ignored for hours; finally, we had to call the number provided and speak with the property manager who sent us the check-in information over text, outside of the app. When we arrived at the house, it was clear that it hadn’t been fully cleaned. The floor was unswept, with stains, footprints, and hair all over. There was hair all over the master bathroom. The bath mat was visibly dirty. Many of the dishes had mysterious residue on them. The leather sofa was covered in dust so thick that we could leave handprints. The bedding in the master bedroom obviously hadn’t been changed - there were hairs in the sheets and mascara smeared on the pillowcase. We took photographs and called the person who had given us the check-in information. She was unhelpful, just saying “oh the cleaning girl is usually so good, I’ll let her know, that’s not cool.” Nothing was done to address any of this. We ended up leaving & still haven’t heard anything from the host to address our complaints. In fact, the host keeps sending us messages as if everything was wonderful, not acknowledging any of our communications with her property manager or the messages we’ve sent her on the app. It’s bizarre. The whole thing was a terrible experience, from start to finish.

Clean, solid house but harsh check-out and security deposit policies

The property was clean, neat and as listed. We were comfortable in the home and enjoyed the large yard. However, 1. The option to either pay an extra fee for potential damages or leave an unbelievably MASSIVE security deposit felt completely unfair. I’m not sure if this is standard on VRBO as I’m new to the app but it wasn’t clear until I had almost confirmed the booking so flagging to other potential renters. 2. Despite paying a healthy cleaning fee, we were told we would be charged large additional fees for leaving a dish in the sink, not taking trash out, locking wrong door, or leaving anything behind on accident that needed returning. I find it rude to punish renters/spoil the end of someone’s vacation with a penalty fee if they were to accidentally leave a dish in the sink… especially when they’re already paying a cleaning fee. But hey, that’s just me. 3. Last bit of feedback is that kitchen supplies were very bare minimum. Only 1 huge pot with a lid for boiling anything, no oven mits, 1 baking sheet, full knives. Just heads up for anyone planning on cooking a big meal! Otherwise, like I said the property was very clean and exactly as listed. We enjoyed our stay overall and the host was responsive in all communications!

Perfect for Stargazing

I love this location! It's perfect for stargazing and having an outdoor firepit made it cozy outdoors. This place has me missing it already because being one block away from the open desert was something I wasn't expecting and it made it all the better to stay here. Would recommend for anyone traveling with family and friends. I'm willing to stay here again when I return to Twentynine Palms.
