Welcome to Bluegill Cottage! This place was built in 1970 on a 0.35-acre lot, surrounded by water and nature. The cottage was recently renovated to provide a cozy environment, perfect for family mini vacations. The cottage is sitting by Sleepy Hollow Lake, offering a peaceful experience but plenty of adventure, from fishing to kayaking/boating.

Bluegill Cottage offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, equipped with a king, a queen and 2 twin beds. Although small, there is plenty of wiggle room in this lakeside cottage. The place offers a big screened porch with gathering area, a big backyard with BBQ kettle grill, campfire area, and private docks by the water. Pedal boats and kayaks are available on site (no extra fees). The place also offers a full kitchen with essential supplies, bakeware, utensils and equipment. A coffee station with Keurig coffee maker.

Recently updated with office desk, chair and high speed internet for remote work. With satellite internet, the browsing and streaming is fast, however, it may not be suitable for virtual meetings.

This cottage is pet friendly. Pet fee applies per stay.

Very nice lake cottage with a private deck. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was a good size and the a/c kept it nice and cool.

Everything was thought of in this wonderful cottage/cabin. Impecable cleanliness and top of the line amenities. Kayaks and Paddle boats were used each day and although not a single fish was caught, a great time was had by all. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful home and everything was so wonderful. Well stocked, within delibe3ry for Walmart so we just got there and had groceries delivered. Only issue was i forgot to get pancake syrup. Definitely not the properties fault! Kods loved the kayaks and peddle boats. It was so cold we had to bump up the heat. I bet it is a very lovely home in the summer as well. We streamed tv, played many games at the location, and i loved cooking in the kitchen. Very relaxing place to stay!

Everything was fantastic! This VRBO had more pots and pans, kitchen, utensils, and a full spice rack, which I have never seen before in a rental.The deck and lake are picturesque. It wasn’t quite cool enough for a fire, but the fire pit is perfectly situated beneath the stars.All in all five stars aren’t enough to give this property! I can’t wait to go back.

Awesome getaway!

Absolutely enjoyed the weekend, even with a little rain. Will be booking this place several times a year! The house is extremely well kept and comfortable. Had a great time playing darts on the back porch. The fire pit area was amazing in the evening. Enjoyed taking the kayaks out with my son to go fishing. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about staying!

Relaxing getaway

This peaceful lake side property was clean, thoughtfully stocked and a wonderful place to relax for the weekend. We enjoyed coffee on the dock listening to birds each morning, and kayaking in the afternoon. And spent our evenings around the large fire pit.

This place is much nicer than the photos. It’s well appointed with lots of supplies—spices, toilet paper, even fishing rods. It’s very comfortable and the lake is beautiful. I only had one issue which is that the thermostat is locked at 75; you can temporarily lower the AC, but then it’ll bounce back to 75. This type of house is not terribly well insulated. Even in February that can be a bit too warm; I would hesitate to rent this place in the summer because of this issue. I would rather have paid more for the rental and been allowed a cooler AC. However, this was a minor issue for an otherwise great rental.

Hi Julie, Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the stay. I apologize for not knowing you had issues with adjusting the thermostat. It can be adjusted below 75. Guests are allowed to adjust to their liked temperature. Sometimes, previous guests may lock the thermostat by accident. Should this happens, I can always help unlock the temp remotely from the app. Since it was not communicated to me, I could not help you in time. Hopefully, you would communicate to hosts on any issues in the next stays.

Just what we needed

A Peaceful Retreat

I was looking for something quiet and peaceful to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was a great location, very peaceful, and right on the lake that allowed my husband time to do his favorite hobby - fishing. Will definitely be back again.

Peace and quiet

This property was well kept and perfect for our family getaway. The lake access and amenities is what sold me but the cottage was a plus, it felt like home. My wife loved the kitchen and home decor and I loved the deck and fire pit areas. We will definitely stay again.

We purchased this cute cottage in early 2021 while searching for a perfect vacation home by the water. After months of searching, we landed our eyes on this cozy place and fell in love at first sight. The view, the scenery, the calmness of the water, and the surrounded nature has convinced us that this is the place. Previous owner has taken a good care of this place, through which, we saw love, care and memories being made. We also spent more than a year to renovate this place, pouring our heart into it, to make the place a perfect getaway spot for whoever needs it.
