3 Bed/2 Bath - Full house rental with direct sandy beachfront on beautiful Lake Leelanau! At 1000 sqft, and with an expansive yard facing the water, there is plenty of space for the whole family! In the heart of Leelanau county, this home is 5 minutes from downtown Lake Leelanau, 10 minutes from Suttons Bay, and less than 30 minutes to downtown Traverse City. Enjoy relaxing sunsets fireside after a day of wine tasting, kayaking, and exploring all that the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer.
We are here to make your stay feel like home - feel free to contact us with any questions, and we hope you enjoy your time in beautiful Northern Michigan!
Lake Leelanau is one of the largest inland lakes in the Traverse City area, and includes two bodies of water, usually referred to as North Lake Leelanau and South Lake Leelanau. The lake covers over 8,000 acres and is easily accessible by boat as it offers two boat launches. Watersports are popular or you can just take a cruise up to the lakeside towns of Leland or Lake Leelanau for lunch. The lake is perfect for swimming, boating, or simply enjoying the view!
This home is perfectly situated! Here, you’ll also be amidst Traverse City wine-country! Minutes away, you’ll find 20+ wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula alone. Just ask, and we can recommend a wine trail for you!
Downtown Lake Leelanau is just a 5 minute drive north with groceries, antique stores, wineries, and a coffee shop. Suttons Bay and Leland are both 10 minutes away and provide a fun day with beautiful downtown shopping. Leelanau Casino, Hop Lot Brewing, and Bahles Golf Course are also a quick drive away.
Guests have access to the whole home during their stay.
The driveway can accommodate a maximum of 3 cars. All vehicles, boats and trailers must be parked in designated parking spots in the driveway. Street parking is not permitted. Please note the street is a dead end at the neighbor’s house and guests are not permitted to turn around at the neighbor's property.
This cozy lakehouse can be found on a quiet road in the heart of Leelanau County. Enjoy outdoor dining on the deck overlooking the water, or use the picnic table to spread out by the water. There is a fire pit right by the water and plenty of outdoor seating, kayaks, paddle boat, and row boat included. A dock (shared occasionally) and mooring are also provided on the right side of the property. The public boat launch is just 5 minutes north if you want to bring (or rent) a boat while you’re here!
A perfect home for large groups or families, this cottage includes 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom is located just off the kitchen and has a queen bed as well as attached full bathroom. Down the hall, you’ll find a second bedroom with queen bed, a third bedroom with 2 twin beds, and full guest bathroom. There is also a sofa bed in the living room.
The home includes all the amenities you’d hope to find to make your vacation feel like a home-away-from-home, such as a coffee maker, SmartTV, cable, WiFi, and including plenty of towels, and linens.
The dock is available from the end of May through the end of September. Please only use the dock for 15-minute loading and unloading of passengers. Wind and waves can cause damage to boats and docks. There is a mooring ball available for your use.
Grocery stores and restaurants near the home don’t stay open very late, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead especially for that first night! The closest grocery store is Hanson’s in Suttons Bay but if you’re coming up through Traverse City, there’s a Meijer, Olesons, Toms Grocery, Target etc on your way. There is also a local grocery delivery service called Stocked Up as well. They deliver groceries (and more!) before or during your stay!

Excellent stay for sixth straight year.
We have been staying at this house for six years now. That probably tells you how we feel about it. Great beach. No zebra mussels. Beautiful location on an ideal lake. Great hospitality.
A cozy little cabin right on Lake Leelanau, clean and neat, nothing fancy but all you need for a relaxing time by the lake. Beautiful views from the deck and the lakeside firepit. All it needs is a dishwasher.
Very nice house on beautiful lake Leelanau. Well equipped kitchen nice furnishings very spacious and well kept yard, fire pit, beach, kayak, outdoor and indoor games, Wi-Fi, as well and a great location on leelanau peninsula. Super cool outdoor shower too! We had a fantastic stay!!!
Upon arriving the cottage was very clean and has a beautiful view. Location is great. Half hour from Traverse City. Beach area is nice for kids. Water is shallow and clear. Only things I would recommend is a dishwasher and umbrella for the deck.
Beth & Keegan provided us with check in information along with additional info about local stores, wineries & restaurants. Kitchen had everything we needed for dining in, along with a grill on the back deck. Bedrooms & bathrooms were spacious & clean. Having the lakefront was perfect for our family. We used the kayaks at the property everyday! We took several day trips to Leland, Sutton Bay, Glen Arbor that were only 15-30 minutes from the house. We enjoyed the local restaurants, wineries, shopping, hiking trails, lighthouses & a golf course close by. This is our 4th trip to Michigan and would say this was one of our favorite stays!
The location to everything in this beautiful area is excellent. Being right on the lake without stairs, a steep hill to climb or difficulty getting to the house was simply perfection! The house is comfortable for 6 people. A nice eat-in kitchen, convenient washer/dryer and plenty of windows that make the cottage bright and light! Beth was very responsive and helpful if anything came up. We had a lovely time for 2 full weeks!!
The home was very well equipped, everything we needed. The property was wonderful. Te view of south Lake Leelanau was amazing. We saw a lot of wildlife including turtles, loons, eagles flying over and heard coyote at night. The night sky was very clear to look at stars and satellites. Really enjoyed the fire pit at night. Will definitely recommend this property to family and friends. BTW, our sister, brother-in-law and family stayed next door many years ago. Brought back fond memories.

Cozy Cottage Great Location
The cottage was tidy, spotless, and has a wonder view of the lake from the back patio. This location does offer centralized location between Traverse / Suttons Bay and Empire / Glen Arbor / Sleeping Bear. Enjoyed many of the trails in Sleeping Bear, restaurants and other local attractions within (30) minute drive. The cottage was lacking A/C first couple of days, due to the compressor not being turned on the second day was uncomfortably hot. Bathtubs are tight. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with the Fish Fly / May Fly / Drake season. They were so bad we had to leave a couple days early.
We loved our stay for the exceptional lakefront - shallow, calm, sandy-bottom lakefront with a small beach perfect for kids. Having kayaks and a pedal boat included was a highlight! The location is central to so many of our favorite things in Leelanau - Leland, Sutton’s Bay, Sleeping Bear Dunes and more. The house was just the right size for our family of four, and the welcome snack and coffee were a lovely touch!
We loved this little house on Lake Leelanau - just perfect for our family of 6 - grandparents, parents, and 2 little grandchildren. The water is shallow for a couple hundred feet. It was like a backyard water park. We rented a boat for the week which was ideal for enjoying the water. There were also kayaks, a rowboat, and paddle boat for our use. The fire pit was nice in the evenings to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and smores! The property managers and owner are lovely.
This property has an incredible backyard and lakefront area. The variety of watercraft provided created lots of options for fun on the lake, too. The house itself is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. It is close to “downtown” Leelanau (gotta try Nittolo’s pizza!), Sutton’s Bay (for shopping), and several Lake Michigan beaches, so everything our group wanted to do was easily accessible. It’s off the main roads so it was quiet at night, too. We had a wonderful week!
From start to finish the whole process was easy.
Great communication from our hosts.
A wonderful spot on the lake, peaceful but not secluded.
The house was clean throughout, with all the bits and bobs you need. A real home away from home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Tip: try the curry from the local shop…… amazing curry. Best we have had since living in America.
My group was visiting the Traverse City area this October for fall colors and wine tasting and reserved this home for the weekend. Location is excellent, you are in proximity of several wineries on the Leelanau side and TC is a short drive a way. The house is also right on the lakefront of lake Leelanau with a large yard and fire pit so, plenty to do back at the house as well - great place for kids in the summer. Hosts are great and super responsive.
This sweet little place is a gem. The backyard is phenomenal, stocked with kayaks, peddle boat, and rowboat. The cottage is super clean and decorated with charm. We had a great time playing with the numerous board games and cards. The hosts were gracious and promptly accomodating. We will be back :)
