Seth amazing host. We enjoyed every aspect of this wonderful property. Quiet, plenty to do in the surrounding area. Great traveling with our dog. We would stay again when in the area. Thank you Seth!
Outside areas weren't cleared off very well which made it hard to not track in stuff. The house was clean and worked well for us. Well equipt except silverware. The only thing was the Internet was very unreliable most likely a router issue..

Thanks for the feedback Jenifer! I have a tech that is meeting me out there to resolve the issue on internet.
This is my second time staying in this home! It's cute, comfy, and in the perfect location next to the lake, stores, and good food! Will definitely stay here again.

Never received anything beyond an auto response from host. Mentioned issues with cleanliness and maintenance and still haven’t heard back. Wouldn’t go back.

Hey Scott, I didn’t receive issue notices (or any Messages) until your checkout . You said there were ants (because of the heavy rain) and you enjoyed your stay. Please revise your review
This location is quiet and a great place to stay. This is our 2nd time staying here and this is the first place I look for to see if available when coming to Topeka Ks. Love the screened in porch while drinking my morning coffee.

We traveled from Wisconsin to visit family. The yard in the photos appears clean cut and a great place for games and visits. When we arrived, the yard was overgrown and had garbage around the perimeter - a broken screen and chairs tossed in the overgrown fire pit. The listing states, “let me know if you want to use the fire pit and we will leave wood for you” - I didn’t mention wanting to use the pit because I was unsure of how warm the evenings would be and didn’t want him to go out of his way to leave wood if we didn’t end up using it - well we wouldn’t have been able to anyway with the garbage thrown in it. The WiFi should not be a listed amenity. We were never able to use it which was unfortunate because it was required for some family games we brought to play. Positives - the A/C works amazing and there was plenty of room for us to stay. Walking access to Lake Shawnee was nice. I just felt like for us staying for 4 days, the place would have been better prepared for our arrival. Plenty of parking for my family when they came to visit which was very nice. Overall, we would stay again but would prepare for not having WiFi.
The inside of this rental is just as it's shown. Bright and clean, not too big but big enough for two. The outside needs some work such as the lawn needs cut and trimmed and porches needed cleaned. Otherwise a nice place to rent.

Hi! Thank you for your stay. I’m glad you enjoyed the inside and it met your expectations. Unfortunately we’ve had a fair amount of rain when the lawn service was expected, putting him back. It’s since been mowed. Hopefully you’ll give us another chance in the future :) .
Perfect little house for our trip to watch softball. Short walk to the Lake Shawnee Softball Fields. Trails around the lake were great for morning walks. Convenient location with restaurants and shopping nearby. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Owner was readily available. We would definitely stay here again!

About the host

My wife and I grew up and work in the Topeka area. We have a newborn and two fur-babies that keep us on our toes. During pregnancy, we decided we wanted to try a new adventure together. With my background in real estate and her creative ability to make something come to life, we turned a house into an experience!
Why they chose this property
We live just down the road from this property. But it’s not just the convenience that sold us, it’s the opportunity for guests. We absolutely love what Lake Shawnee has offered us in the time we’ve lived here. From the walking trails, to the tennis courts, 4th of July fireworks show, new bark park, venues we’ve used for All of our events and more! And the fact that it’s right across the street is incredible.
We always had family come in town during our wedding functions and there was absolutely NO WHERE to stay on the SE side of town, so we saw a need and wanted to help fix it.
