Fall in love with Wellsboro as you walk downtown with the gas lit lanterns on Main Street or enjoy God’s creation as you hike, fish, snowmobile or kayak in beautiful Tioga County. Great for families.
This vacation home is rented throughout the year! We do accept monthly rentals for traveling nurses and Doctors and we are within walking distance of the hospital.
What a beautiful property this is! You won't want to leave! They say it is all about location, location, location. Well this house has just that. The house was built in 1840 and is in the historic part of down town Wellsboro. If only this house could talk and tell us some stories. I was told that at one time this house was a carriage stop and also a post office. Now it is time for you to make some memories here that will last you for years to come.
You can leave your car parked in the driveway and walk down town or bring your outdoor games as the yard across the bridge is huge. Our kitchen is well equipped for dining in. The dining room is bright and has a table that seats 8 for dining, socializing and games in the evening. There is an enclosed back porch to relax in and a large comfortable living room. We offer a master bedroom on the main floor with a bathroom and shower just off the bedroom. There are 3 additional bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom, tub and shower. You do need to provide your own sheets and towels.
This is a perfect place for couples to gather and spend a weekend together. It is spacious enough to accommodate 4 couples, cozy enough for just 2, or great for a ladies week end away. This is an old house and has a step up to the dining room and a step down to the kitchen, living room and foyer. There is a deck outback to sit and enjoy the sound of the creek as it trickles by. But please, do not walk or sit on the stone wall. An outdoor fire pit is in the back yard for roasting hotdogs or relaxing in the evening. Wi-Fi and Dish T.V. is set up for those rainy days.
Are you a baseball fan…The Little League World Series in Williamsport is about 45minutes to an hour away.
We ask that you keep things clean during your stay and leave the guest house as you found it. Our cleaning people will do all the final cleaning. Please be respectful and courteous to our property and our neighbors.

John and I were high school sweethearts and have now been married for over 40 years! Totally too hard to believe. We have three wonderful sons, 3 great daughter-in-laws and 6 fantastic grandchildren that range in age from 1 year to 15 years old. We are happy to say that no one has moved away from our hometown of Elizabethtown, Pa. in Lancaster County. It is so good to have everyone close by.
John drives milk truck for Mount Joy Farmers Co-Op and I am an Interior Designer. We are members of Community Bible Church in Marietta where we have served in various ways over the years. Besides working full time, we squeeze in babysitting and attending the kids activities whenever we can.
Every summer we spend a week with our extended family at Ocean City New Jersey. Often times there are about 30 of us that go, so you can only imagine what that is like….lots of kids, lots of noise, lots of fun and lots of laughter.
God is good. Certainly we have had our challenges, as I am sure you have, but we have experienced God’s faithfulness in many ways.

The Last Lantern Guest House is full of charm. I fell in love with it the minute I walked in and you will too. The picket fence, the creek, the bridge and the huge back yard will draw you into this unique experience and help you appreciate all that there is to enjoy here. There is everything you need for a fun and relaxing get-away. You can walk downtown or spend time in God’s beautiful creation fishing at Pine Creek or hiking the Pa. Grand Canyon. There is also rail trail for biking along Pine Creek. There are all kinds of outdoor activities in and around Wellsboro. Or just come to relax in the warm & cozy furnishings of the Guest House. If you enjoy eating out, there are several wonderful restaurants in town or close by. But the kitchen is fully furnished if you have a good cook along that loves being in the kitchen and serving others! There is a golf course close by and the Little League World Series is played at Williamsport which is just about an hour away. So there is something for everybody!

What makes this property unique

This is a special place. It is right at the edge of town so you can walk down town with the gas lit street lights or turn out the driveway the opposite direction and you are in the country with a completely different adventure awaiting you. Whichever direction you go, you will never forget the time you have spent at the Last Lantern Guest House and the experience you had visiting the quaint town of Wellsboro. Come back again and again for the “home away from home,” feeling!
