This house definitely met our needs. It was within walking distance of Wellsboro Dickens Christmas. It’s a large but older home. Six of us stayed there very comfortably and we couldn’t had several more people join us. Nice coffee bar. Unfortunately, it had snowed and the driveway was not shoveled or plowed, making if difficult to unload. Needs a deep cleaning, many cobwebs. Several broken pieces of furniture. Many lightbulbs needed to be replaced.

Our large family has enjoyed staying at the Highland House twice this year. We love the house which easily accommodates all of us for sleeping arrangements, family meals and game time. The younger kids had their own space while the adults were able to relax and spend time together. And we love walking through Wellsboro. Shannon has always been very helpful and accessible.

House is very nice, open and comfortable! Hose is clean, beds are comfy! Loved staying there and being so close to Wellsboro. Great communication with host.

Excellent location in Wellsboro, within walking distance to downtown. Adorable decorations throughout the house and plenty of sitting space, inside and outside. Loved the deer that just wander around all the time. Would stay here again if we revisit.

This house was perfect for us. So roomy and comfortable. Easily walkable into town from the house. It is a very relaxing area and there is plenty to do at the home itself. The home owner gives you plenty of items to make your stay perfect. Do not liaten to the bad reviews because im glad i didn't! This was the best home I've rented and i will definitely be back.

Great!

Really cool old house with a great property. We had everything we needed. To those who complained about it not being clean or whatever: it's a 100 year old house, not The W Hotel. Old houses have old floors, fixtures, etc. that might show some wear. Most call this 'character'. We dug it, and if you approach it from the right perspective, you will to :)

The house served us well for our weekend stay! We could have used some more paper towels and there were no dishwasher tabs or soap to use. Some fixing of features like the wiggly, low stairwell would be nice as well.

Christmas/New Year

6 adults over 60. The place COULD have been nice, but I spent the the first evening & next morning cleaning it to make it passively clean. No basic supplies such as toilet paper, paper products. Water from sink drained straight to the yard. No shovel or even a broom to clear snow and ice.

Great location & character of home

Our stay was during a snowstorm-turned-to-rain so we were indoors more than expected. There was plenty of room to spread out. Very quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds & furniture, generous supplies at coffee bar, plenty of towels. Because this is an older house, it has creaking floors & stairs (no sneaking to bathroom at night or downstairs in the morning) & rising heat so BR doors need to be open if you want heat, & dust from over-the-top yet creative decorations also rising. I swept dust webs from light fixtures & around the ceiling. Restoration/renovations were interesting, yet the house was charming & inviting. We loved the electric FP in LR, but we didn’t need to use the wood stove. Being walking distance to town is a huge bonus.

Great property!

The house was the perfect size and great location! Stayed for my birthday with 4 couples. Lots of space for everyone. Walking distance to town was a plus!

Short overnight stay

We stayed over one night, location is nice and quiet. The house is a pretty older house. My issue was the cleanliness, hair in sink, the outlet cover in the kitchen backsplash was very dirty, lots of spider webs and dust. Needs to be deep cleaned and cleaned better between guests

Property was older, but everything was fine. Real close To downtown. Pennsylvania Grand Canyon just a short drive. Good places to eat close by.

Loved the Location

This property had a great location and the house was big and roomy for all 8 of us. The property was clean and welcoming. However, there were some upkeep issues with the property. There seemed to be electrical problems impacting the lights staying on in some rooms. They would go on and off. Grown kids did not like the lack of locks on bathroom and bedroom doors and the inability to fully close the downstairs bathroom door. The listing stated there was air conditioning which consisted of window ACs in the upstairs bedrooms. There was not any AC on the main floor and since we stayed in July it was very warm. Many of the windows did not have screens so we couldn't open the windows and leave them open at night. The water dispenser on the fridge did not work and the light inside the fridge did not work. Even with these issues we enjoyed the area and had a good week exploring.

Nice BIG old house

Nice size property with plenty of room to spread out. One group was in the bigger sitting area watching tv while another group was in the smaller sitting are watching a different program. Nice size bedrooms and 2 shower areas were a plus.
