Relax and enjoy the morning sun as you look out at the ocean from the living spaces of this 6-bedroom home. Its location in a corner lot affords this home plenty of natural light and beautiful views.

Sit down to eat breakfast with your family and friends in a table that stretches to seat twelve. Then put on your bathing suit, cross the one-lane street and you are at the life guarded beach! When you're ready for a change of scene, come home and relax in the hot tub or in one of the two shaded porches.

Spend the afternoon strolling the neighborhood, biking to the nearest shops, or simply hanging out. In the evening venture out to dinner in Bethany, Rehoboth or Ocean City, Maryland. Finally, before going to bed, be sure to climb the stairs up to the crow's nest to count the stars!

The Sand Trap comfortably accommodates large groups of friends and families. Three of the bedroom suites have their own bathroom and there is parking for five vehicles on the property plus off street parking for two with a permit. Free wifi.

Please note that I work with a local property manager who has been in business for over 35 years in South Bethany. His office will send and collect the rental agreement and make arrangements for optional travel insurance and towel and/or linen rental. The office will also provide you with the access codes and address any issues that might arise during your stay.

The house was in an ideal location, immediately across from beach access. The beach is very family-friendly and much less crowded than other area beaches due to limited access. The house is in great shape with ocean views and had everything our family needed to enjoy an amazing vacation!

Great House! Great Reunion!

We enjoyed our stay very much(we are 4 couples for a family reunion). The house is lovely and very welcoming. Great location! Very close to the beach, Nice neighborhood for our morning walks. All the rooms were very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. Only complaint was we wished we had booked a longer stay.

We were two families of four and had a great time. Pros: --The kitchen is large, everything works great, plenty of everything for cooking, baking, drinking, storage, etc. ---The great room is sunny and lovely at all hours of the day and night. ---The big dining table was big enough for all meals, board games, puzzles. --- The LR furniture is very comfortable and ample ---Location is top notch. Cons: ---A couple of the downstairs beds were a bit saggy in the middle. ---I wish there was more than one hang out area instead of the 6th bedroom. ---There is too much furniture on the small covered porch. It is hard to move around out there if multiple people want to sit

Thanksgiving in Bethany

We had a wonderful time at the property which included a total of 12, from 1 to 71. The space was suited for entertainment and enjoyment, nice and close to Bethany but far enough to avoid the traffic. The beach was pristine, and the top deck had incredible views. Highly recommend!

Pride of ownership shines through in every aspect of this beautiful home. Our large family enjoyed our 10 night stay immensely. Fantastic Property in South Bethany Beach!

We loved our stay at The Sand Trap. This was a "cousins reunion" - all 11 of us now in our 60's - in S Bethany. The house was completely as described and photos recent and accurate. The kitchen was well-stocked and everything was in working order - really enjoyed having 2 coffee pots for the amount of people we had. The bedroom and bathroom configuration worked out very well for us. The parking capacity is excellent and the beach is right out the door! The booking process was easy and I received excellent communications throughout the booking, arrival, the visit and the check-out processes. Would highly recommend The Sand Trap for large groups - it's got everything you need and convenient to Bethany, Rehobeth, and Ocean City.

Super spring vacation

Our family spent the most marvelous week at the Sand Trap. The house is gorgeous - so beautifully decorated and comfortable for our group of 9 family and friends. The location is amazing - such easy access to walk on the beach (too cold to swim in April) and we saw dolphins one day. Also easy walk or drive to the boardwalk which was great fun to explore. We visited Assateague National Park and saw wild horses - a highlight of the trip for my granddaughter and me! The house itself was by far the best rental I've stayed in. Everything was in superb working order with easy to follow instructions and labeled light switches - a small, but great detail. The kitchen was well appointed with quality dishes, appliances, and baking pans. The large dining table was convenient for eating and games and the living room comfortably fit all of us for movie night. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. One of the best things about this rental was the easy, quick response from the owner and the folks at the rental agency. They were both awesome in answering questions and making sure our trip was pleasant. I really can't say enough good things about the Sand Trap! It was a most enjoyable and memorable home away from home!

Spectacular Views

The sand trap has wonderful views and is spacious enough for a large group. It’s an easy walk to the beach and wonderful to enjoy your coffee on the crow’s nest. Family Christmas

The Sand Trap was an awesome house for our three generation family of 9 to spend Christmas and New Years together. The house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We enjoy cooking together and the kitchen was very well equipped and open to the living area. The bedrooms are large and most have an attached bathrooms. The views from the living room are very nice and you almost feel beach front. The upper deck has amazing 360 degree views The beach is just across a quiet street with a new boardwalk making it an easy walk. Ria and Sandcastle realty were very easy to communicate with even though their offices were closed for the holidays.

Great beach house

Our extended family stayed at this property for a week vacation. The property was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The location was excellent, only a few steps from the beach. The owner supplied many extras, such as beach chairs. We are planning to return next year.

Beautiful home in South Bethany Beach

This is our 3rd time staying in this rental home and its beautiful. Close to the beach access and the views from the deck/crows nest are awesome. The decor in the house is so nice, large dinning table and comfortable living area for large families. Also, love the availability of beach chairs, beach toys, and umbrella!!

Beautiful house at great location

Took my wife, 2 sons families (5 grand kids) for a week. Loved every minute of it. The kids especially loved the crow's nest. Easy stroll to the beach (maybe 50 feet). All amenities available, we could have left our beach chairs at home. 2 things to be aware, 4 half flights of stairs to get to the main living area ( counted it as extra calories available for snacks...) And any one on the second floor can hear anyone walking on the third floor but kids did not seem to loose sleep over it. Overall a GREAT place to vacation at a very quite location

My husband and I settled in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC area over twenty years ago. From early on, vacations in Rehoboth and Bethany with our children became a favorite tradition. We've had the opportunity to vacation as a family in some of the best beaches in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. However, nothing has ever replaced the comfort and sense of belonging that we get vacationing close to home in the Delaware Shore!

Why they chose this property

After spending two years looking for a home in the Bethany area, we were finally were able to make our dream come true by buying a beach house in the summer of 2009. I remember clearly the day in late June when my husband who regularly surfed the real estate listings exclaimed 'Here it is! Our new beach house!' We were drawn in by the brightness of the home, its excellent condition, and the size of the house which lent itself to large gatherings with friends and family. The South Bethany area offered a good compromise between the seclusion of the private beaches of North Bethany and the crowds in downtown Bethany. We also felt that the life guarded beach would appeal to the families with young children that we hoped to share our house with. Finally, the young age of the house meant that it was up-to-date and likely to have less maintenance problems than an older home.

What makes this property unique

The Sand Trap is one house away from the ocean so sitting down in the morning with a cup of coffee and looking at the ocean is one of our favorite activities. If you are an early riser, you can watch the sunrise from inside the house or one of the decks. The crow’s nest also is a favorite hangout providing views north far up the beach and of sunsets across the tops of the houses and trees of Bethany. At night one can check out the stars or moonlight on the ocean while listening to the waves. You can actually hear the waves crashing on the beach from inside the house, but the sound is soothing and not overpowering as it might be with an oceanfront home. We love the home's closeness to downtown Bethany (1.5 miles), to Ocean City (8.5 miles), and to Rehoboth (13.5 miles). Shopping in Delaware is tax free, thereby giving those who don't typically like to shop an excuse to go! Most of all we enjoy sharing the company of our friends and family around a good meal, a sand castle on the beach, or in the hot tub.
