My wife, daughters and I had a great stay the week after Christmas. Great location near Ober Mountain and an easy drive to downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Smoky Mountain National Park. Chalet/Cabin was nice with an updated kitchen. Good size for 4-5 people to stay and have a great mountain vacation

We really enjoyed this condo! Everything was clean and ready to go. Very comfortable beds and the softest sheets ever! Loved sitting on the balcony and rocking with a book and a cup of coffee. Justin was very quick to answer my questions. We would recommend this place for sure.

clean and comfortable

This condo was very clean and had great views of foliage. The complex is very quiet and has easy (for Gatlinburg roads) access to the Smoky Mountain park and Gatlinburg. The owner communicated very well and was quick in responding to me. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The unit was nicely furnished with newer furniture and decor.

Comfortable and Clean

Cleanliness is a top priority and this apartment was very clean. Location is in the mountains, so wifi was our only source of calls/service. Furniture was comfortable. They do not provide basic seasonings, so you have to bring/buy all items if you plan to cook.

Where the bears are!

The bears seemed to love this area. We saw a family of them multiple times. This is further up the mountain than we’ve ever stayed before. Things to know: he’s not kidding about that cell service. It is almost non existent. So if you need to contact owner, you will have to drive around or down the mountain to get in contact until you can hook to the Wi-Fi inside the property.

Hey Suzanne! We appreciate you visiting Alpine Lookout. I'm delighted you got to see some of the wildlife that lives around here. Mobile Coverage is unstable here in the mountains, so I'm glad you found a way to contact me during your stay. It's nice to hear you had an enjoyable time, and I hope you'll stay with us again soon. We appreciate you coming to Alpine Lookout!

It took 30 minutes to unlock the front door. Eventually we unlocked it with a new code and figuring it out by ourselves. The spare bathroom tile is about to come off the wall. The soap holder has already fallen off. They don’t show you that picture in the profile. The picture of the view isn’t correct as well. The picture is of the ground with bears because the mountains are blocked by electrical lines. The towels are old and scratchy and bare wrapped around me. (I am 116 LB woman. We had issues with extra pillows ( the only pillows were 2 per bed and flat as the floor) not having pillow cases on them. We were initially told they would bring extra pillow cases, then told those pillows were being thrown away and if we wanted extra pillows there would be a charge. Then after my initial shock and protest was told that was mistake and that they would bring me extra pillows the following day. I would not recommend staying here.

Thank you for the feedback on your stay. Sorry it took so long to access the home — we’ve reviewed our keyless entry process and check‑in messaging to make sure codes are sent reliably and instructions are clearer, and we’ll improve remote support for quicker help if this happens again. Apologies about the loose tile and fallen soap holder — maintenance has been notified and will repair/replace those fixtures and inspect other bathroom hardware. I’m sorry the view and photos didn’t match your expectations; we’ll update the listing photos and description so the view is represented accurately. We also regret the condition of the towels and pillows and the confusion about extra pillowcases and charges. That was a mistake — we’re replacing worn towels and flattened pillows, ensuring extra pillows have cases, and clarifying our housekeeping and pillow policies to prevent this in the future. Thank you for letting us know — please message us through Vrbo if you want to share any additional details so we can follow up. Avada Properties

First time in the TN Mountains

Overall our stay was great, host Justin & Kari was very responsive on questions we had, great home, we appreciate the use of their home. Our biggest struggle we encountered was the lack of cell service that we were not prepared for. Justin did mention intermittent cell service when we booked our stay but we found ourselves a bit challenged using Google Maps to get around due to the service in the area. One needs to exercise caution on the mountain roads, especially at night as this is not for the faint of heart not secure in experiencing steep grades and blind curves. This has no reflection on the host it is more of awareness for future bookings. Be save and be prepared.
