This tastefully renovated historic home is centrally located near Columbia’s best attractions, with easy walking or driving access to most places in the area. Built around 1899 for textile mill workers, it’s now a modern home that blends old-world charm with modern comfort. The home is warm, inviting, and decorated to delight guests, with plenty of amenities for a perfect stay. Ideal for Army Graduation stays, perfect for families visiting Fort Jackson.

Steps from Columbia’s famous Riverwalk with walking, tubing, and biking trails, this house is ideal for those seeking an outdoor adventure. Tubing and kayak trips start just two blocks away. The house comfortably sleeps 6, with three bedrooms and a pullout futon. New 14” memory foam mattresses in all bedrooms (king and two queen beds). The house also has smart TVs, high-speed WiFi, and built-in USB charging stations.

As you enter, you’ll be greeted by accent walls and an open, comfortable living area. The home has tall ceilings, new ceiling fans in every room, and modern conveniences. Relax in the spacious kitchen area with a new granite eat-in bar, enjoy your favorite shows on the TV, and use the built-in USB charging station. The living room is equipped with leather couches and power recliners, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.

The home’s outdoor spaces are perfect for fun and relaxation. The deck, which extends the living space by 400 feet, is ideal for outdoor gatherings or simply relaxing under the stars. A cornhole set is available for outdoor fun.

The home is in Columbia’s River District, with bars, restaurants, and entertainment all within walking distance. Just a block away, you’ll find the West Columbia Amphitheater and Riverwalk. BEDROOMS:
Upstairs: One bedroom with a king memory foam mattress and a 42" smart TV. A recliner is available for relaxation.
Second bedroom upstairs with a queen memory foam mattress.
Downstairs: A bedroom with a queen memory foam mattress and its own full bathroom.
BATHROOMS:
The home has three bathrooms, all featuring rich Italian Travertine tile. The upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower and dual vanity, while the master bathroom downstairs includes a tub/shower. There’s also a half-bath conveniently located near the living area. All bathrooms are stocked with towels, washcloths, a hair dryer, and iron. A washer and dryer are also available.

KITCHEN:
The newly updated kitchen includes stainless-steel appliances, including a microwave, stove, and fridge with an ice maker. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, including cookware, coffee mugs, wine glasses, utensils, and more. A Keurig coffee machine is available, and there’s an outdoor charcoal grill for grilling.

Enjoy the 400 sq ft deck with festive lighting, perfect for relaxation, outdoor dining, or gatherings. The home features a covered front porch with no steps, making it easily accessible. Perfect location

The place was great and more than enough space for us. The Fenced in yard was prefect for our tiny dog. We are thinking of relocating to the Columbia area, and this was central to all areas we were looking into. Great neighborhood, great host, great property.

I’ve been here for 12 weeks! In Columbia for work. I settled in with my dog and love the location. Fenced yard with plenty of room and a lovely covered back porch. When I return this is where I’ll be!

Great spot for my long term stay!

I’m in town for several months to work This is a great spot-downtown and USC are easily accessible. Brian is very responsive. Love the fenced backyard for my dog as well as the fire pit and picnic table. Covered back porch make being outside for coffee lovely.

Terrific property/Terrific host

This house is great. The beds and seating are very comfortable. The kitchen is nicely furnished. The backyard is inviting. It's well-suited for telework. The location is perfect, quiet and safe but close to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. The host went over and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable during the cold snap super stay. This was our second stay at the property but it won't be our last.

Perfect location

The home is three bedroom and two bathrooms. Decorated really cute, with fenced in backyard and adorable patio lights. I enjoyed reading under the lights while my dog enjoyed the backyard. Home is four minutes from Riverwalk, where I walked my dog daily. I was able to enjoy tubing down the river and a visit to the art museum. This is a great location and central to all activities. I felt safe walking my dog in the neighborhood and nodding to other walkers. This has been a big hit for me.

Nice Quiet Neighborhood

We stayed for 4 days while my wife had 3 days of classes at University of South Carolina. The house was clean, nice and seems newly remodeled. Has a fenced in backyard that helps when letting out your dogs since this is a dog friend house. Neighborhood was quite and about 2 miles from the University. We have to go back I two more times over the next year and this house will be our first choice when the school confirms those dates she needs to be there.

We traveled from Texas to this beautiful Verbo. Brian and his family was so kindly to have room for us to stay while we were there for my son's Army graduation. Ipon arrival we found the most heartfelt welcome. The TV had a special thing going for our son in the Army. They left us a nice little gift for staying. They also put out little red/white/blue flowers and an Congratulations Banner for graduating the Army for my son!!!! It made me cry. Everyone loved it. My son got to see it on graduation day when he came back with us. He smiled and almoat cried. He said they dont even know me that is awesome I love it. The communication between Brian and I was great. He never once dropped the ball. The house was beautiful inside and out. The weather did keep us from using the grill and enjoying the outside. However the beds was so soft and we all slept like babies. We never had an issue with anything. We loved it and didn’t want to leave but we had too.

Great cottage!

We came to Columbia for parents weekend at UofSC. We were looking for something close to campus and this place was perfect. There was plenty of room for 4 adults. The floor plan is set up perfectly for some additional space between couples as the master suite is on one side of the house and 2 sizeable rooms on the other side house with their own full bathroom. The house was clean and comfortable. We didn't need to contact Brian, but he reached out to me multiple times to ensure everything was as we expected. And it was. We will be looking for this place the next time we're in Columbia!

Riverwalk

The host did wonderful job in making everything pleasant and some great and helpful tips. My family went to the fair (first time in Columbia) and the Vista. They really enjoyed it! The downside was a neighbor who made some of us feel really uncomfortable by insinuating and overreacting about my family doing stuff that was not true. That almost ruined the experience. But we were determined not to let that spoil the beautiful weather and different events happening downtown. Overall, Ithe Knotts were excellent hosts and their home was very clean and nice! Would recommend to other visitors!

We booked last minute for three days in Columbia, and this was a truly wonderful stay for the whole family! The home is extremely well kept, clean and furnished impeccably, with a lot of thoughtful details from the refinishing/remodeling that was done to make it a unique space which is also comfortable and livable. Quiet & up-kept neighborhood is a straight shot to downtown and by the riverwalk & many restaurants/shops. The kitchen is well stocked for meal prep and the backyard is sweet. Rooms have light and a great tub & dedicated workspace w standing/sitting desk! Special thank you for the hosts for the basket of family games available, and excellent communication throughout! You can’t go wrong with this “Homerun on the River”!

Way better than a hotel

We were in town for a family wedding and needed a place where the dogs would be comfortable also. This place is in a perfect location with a quiet neighborhood but close to everything we needed to get to. Plenty of room and extra parking for folks to join us for dinner. Can't recommend it enough.
