Awesome home in Umbertide (PG)

Overlooking the Upper Tiber Valley, this friendly holiday home is situated in a slightly hilly location. On the ground floor you enter the bright, friendly living room with kitchen corner, open fireplace and access to the covered terrace; on the first floor (outside staircase with small loggia) there is a further living room with sofa bed as well as two bedrooms and a bathroom. In front of the house is a spacious plot with a garden shed, all in a quiet hilly location, an ideal place to relax. Within an hour's drive you can reach several Umbrian and Tuscan towns worth seeing, such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Arezzo, Cortona (all around 40-50 km) and Lake Trasimeno (30 km) with its sandy beaches and small islands. Umbertide with its shops of all kinds, trattorias and weekly market is 7km away, the charming hilltop town of Montone 8km. Città di Castello 20km. Short unpaved access road.

Heerlijke accomodatie om (lang) te verblijven

Op zich was dit een heerlijk huis, met alles erop en eraan. Gianluca was ook een erg vriendelijke, behulpzame gastheer die je altijd kon aanspreken als je hulp nodig had voor iets, en loste dat dan ook meteen voor je op. MAAR...en dit is echt een waarschuwing: het pad dat naar de accomodatie loopt is ABSOLUUT niet geschikt voor auto's met weinig bodemspeling! Het onverharde toegangspad naar de accomodatie zit vol gaten en kuilen, en we waren daarom altijd blij dat we eindelijk waren aangekomen. Dit leidde er eigenlijk ook toe dat je weinig zit had om de auto te pakken om wat dorpjes te gaan bezoeken. Overigens is Umbertide niet echt de moeite waard van een bezoek, maar heeft wel een grote COOP. Conclusie: het is echt een heerlijk huis om te verblijven, maar als het flink regent (zoals bij ons) zit je daar wel enigszins vast.
