We appreciate guest reviews, as they help us identify areas where we may have overlooked something or can improve. Our main goal, and a point of pride, has always been cleanliness, as many previous guests have attested in their reviews. If your expectations did not align with the experience reflected in the many 10/10 reviews we have received, that does not invalidate the positive experiences of other guests. The water in France is quite hard and can sometimes cause limescale buildup, which may leave stains that can appear unclean, particularly on items such as the dish rack and coffee maker. We have tried various products to remove these limescale stains; however, some spots may still remain. We take guest feedback very seriously. Following your comments, our property manager inspected the bathroom tiles and grout and found no issues. Our house rules clearly state that check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Check-ins between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. incur a late check-in fee, and we do not accommodate check-ins after 11:00 p.m. We do not operate as a hotel. We stand by our property manager, who stayed behind to explain how everything in the apartment worked and to ensure you were properly settled in. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, as it has for many of our previous guests.

We want to first address your comment about being threatened. That is a very serious statement, and we want to clarify what was communicated and for which we have proof. Our message was that continued communication of a harassing nature after your departure and return to your home country would not be tolerated, and that we would involve VRBO to help mediate if necessary. Regarding the hot water, as we explained, we were not aware of the issue prior to your arrival. Unfortunately, a lack of communication from our building management caused a delay in us knowing that there was a problem and so that we could proactively address this with you by fully refunding your money. Lastly, despite our sincere efforts to make things right, you either declined the proposed solutions or were unavailable. We didn’t hear back from you until you had returned to your home country. We are truly sorry your stay did not meet your expectations because of the hot water issue. As reflected in our many 10/10 reviews, we take guest comfort very seriously and pride ourselves on providing clear, timely, and honest communication. We were glad, however, to see from your daughter’s note that she had a positive experience in the apartment, which reflects the stay we aim to provide for all our guests.

Although our guest did not leave a comment, we still reached out to them, as we do with all our guests, to ensure they had a good experience in our apartment. The guest gave us a 6 out of 10 review without any comments, so we wanted to understand where we fell short in order to improve in the future. We reached out to them, and these are the two points they were dissatisfied with: 1) They purchased their flight ticket, and their flight was scheduled to land at 8 p.m. Paris time. They informed us that they would not arrive at the apartment until 10 p.m. We simply reminded them that our latest check-in time is 11 p.m., as we do not function as a hotel (this is clearly stated in the house rules on our listing). They then chose to change their flight to an earlier one and were unhappy about this. We ask all our guests to carefully read the rules and policies on our listing to avoid any confusion. 2) The guest mentioned that there was no air conditioning in the apartment. Please refer to the amenities section of the listing, where we clearly state that we do not provide AC in the unit. This is something we are considering installing in the future. Most French apartments do not have air conditioning, unlike in North America, due to the structure of the buildings and windows. We go to great lengths to ensure that each of our guests has an enjoyable experience in our apartment while visiting this beautiful city, and we will continue working hard to provide quality accommodation to everyone who stays with us. Please make sure to carefully read the house rules, check-in times, and listed amenities before booking our property. We would be happy to host you, provided our property fits your needs.
