Charming cottage centrally located, 12 minutes from downtown KC, 5-6 minutes from Country Club Plaza. Mixed quaint neighborhood with shops, homes and businesses most of which are within walking distances in nice weather. Brookside, just 1minute away, is an old fashioned English Tudor style neighborhood of small boutiques and restaurants. Waldeaux Cottage is decorated in Country French decor with two queen beds and a set of twin beds. Healthy, gourmet organic meals can be provided by prior arrangement. Spa/salon services can be arranged for couples or girls getaways or bridal attendants in the separately locked off & separate entrance to an intimate salon. Salon is located in the lower level of the home and is by appointment only. Spa packages with discounts for multiple services can be arranged. (Presentations Salon & Rx Day Spa) I offer workshops on how to make your own basic skin care from the kitchen and the garden. If you book a stay at any of my properties, and send in a $25.00 membership in to Slow Food, I will give you $25.00 of Spa services/products of my choice. Slow Food is an international organization that promotes local food sources and teaches nutrition to underprivileged children in inner city as well as other non-political nutritional pursuits. I have three furnished vacation rental in the Kansas City area.
I have created an in-town space to have pampering services made available , ideal for an out of town wedding party, girls getaways and a place to stay with more amenities than a typical hotel room. We also work with a boudoir photographer to set up bridal and romantic photo shoots for our overnight guests. This home is convenient to many cultural events and attractions. Perennial flower beds in both the front and on the large patio in backyard provide a welcoming feel and can open up opportunities for intimate gatherings. There is complete privacy for overnight guests. On the other hand, if a bridal party wants to meander from upstairs and downstairs for salon services, the doors can be opened and then enjoy the whole space for pampering.

The convenient location to shopping, cafes and museums and all activities in the greater Kansas City area. The neighborhood of Brookside/Waldo is just south of the Country Club Plaza area and is only 5-10 minutes away. Most other destinations are within 25-30 minutes away
This is a neighborhood where families walk with their dogs and children. Lots of dining opportunities both low-key and upscale. Spa/salon services can be offered, by appointment.
My husband and I wanted to have a quick weekend get-together with our kids over Labor day. Found this cottage available and made plans. It was so great to have this cozy place to spend time, rather than 3 separate hotel rooms. Thanks for the hospitality! Enjoyed our stay very much!!!
The cottage offered the opportunity for 6 women to get away for a weekend in KC. Near the Plaza and West Port for shopping and eating fun but good eating establishments in walking distance. Patio area was relaxing and fun in Springtime weather. Beds are comfortable and great to have a living room to socialize. Some repairs to front steps were in process when we were there. Just a little treacherous at that time but should be finished soon. Driveway is steep but not unmanageable. (We were all 55+.)
We spent a girl's weekend at the cottage. There were 6 of us and we had a blast. There was a spa on the facility which we did not use, but only because we were limited in time. We spent the weekend enjoying the local establishments and also went to a neighboring area called Brookside. It was a fun weekend. The cottage had plenty of room for all of us to sit and talk comfortably in the living room. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The owner was very helpful in answering questions and providing information and worked with us regarding our arrival time. I would recommend this property to others.
I rented this cottage for a bachelorette party for my sister. The cottage itself was lovely. Very classy, comfortable and perfect for a get together. What did not go well was everything else I had planned. The spa treatments mentioned by the owner fell through because the salon person claimed I did not contact her after she repeatedly contacted me. This is not true as she did confirm with one of my guests who was pregnant that she could do a special massage for her. I also had an email confirming what I requested. I received conflicting messages that she was and was not coming due to a car accident. I finally received a very unprofessional text message from the salon person to which I finally asked her to not continue with the messages to me as I was trying to host a party. When we arrived, after I had confirmed what time I was arriving just days before, I got a call from the owner asking me when I would be arriving. I was already at the property and was greeted by a man in a chef's jacket who was cooking a catered meal for another group. He said he would leave shortly and the owner confirmed on the phone that he would be leaving. To make up for being there he did serve us some of the food however it was very awkward to share a small space with a stranger when we were doing "female" type festivities for the bachelorette. She felt uncomfortable playing the games and opening her gifts with him present. After spending a lot of money on food I could not get into the kitchen to prepare it for the guests. He said he was leaving and we could call him because he lived nearby and could easily come back if we needed him. We thought he had left and then discovered after he returned twice that he was with a friend on the back patio. He left eventually but when we returned rather late at night we saw from outside that there was a room on the spa side that was lit by a television and that the spa door that led to the patio and the back yard was locked from the other side. We were unable to go out to the outdoor areas after that point but we did seem to think he was staying the night. My guests were very uncomfortable with this and I was personally embarrassed. Last but not least, the next morning we were awakened at 9 a.m. by people doing yard work and yelling back and forth under our windows. It woke up all of the guests and they were all annoyed. I just felt like there was a lot of weird and unprofessional behavior that put me in an embarrassing situation.
We were in town for our medical school graduation and could not have picked a better place for us to reunite. The back patio area is great for sitting, talking and relaxing. The 3 bedrooms and spacious living room make it easy for groups to spread out with air mattresses and such. The basement/salon provided a great space for the girls to get ready each day and night. And best of all Kathy offered us a group discount on massages if anyone wanted one. The ad says it sleeps 7 but can easily sleep more if needed. Thank you so much for having us!!
We stayed in the cottage with two kids and two dogs. It was great for all of us. The Waldo area has a lot of places to eat and drink within walking distance. We walked for coffee, breakfast, dinner etc. The whole neighborhood was pet friendly, even including dog bone dishes outside of some local businesses. Plus--there is a doggy day care just across the way if you want to check your dogs in for the day.
Kathy, the owner was very accommodating during our stay. We have children with food allergies so we cooked at least two meals a day and found the kitchen to be stocked sufficiently. We would definitely stay here again.
The Waldeaux Cottage is in the quaint historical and little bit quirky area of the Waldo/Brookside area of Kansas City. This home is in a mixed area of small businesses, duplexes, English Tudor homes, sidewalks for walking dogs and baby strollers nearby. Brookside is right next to Waldo and has a lot
