THIS IS THE HOOD RIVER HOTEL. The hotel was very unique, and historical. For the overall price the room was worth the stay, but we had a couple of little things that weren't the best. When we arrived to check-in there was no one at the desk. At this time, it was only 45 minutes after check-in started. We waited about 15 minutes, then I tried calling the hotel phone number...no answer. I should mention there was also another person in the lobby waiting to check-in this entire time as well. We waited another 10 minutes (because what else could we do) and the front desk guy appeared. So that was not the best start.The room felt much smaller than pictured. It is an old building, so no A/C, but they did have a window unit going. This was an ongoing battle as the windows had large gaps letting air (and noise) in, the ceiling vent kept pouring out hot air, and the bathroom was extremely hot with a door that wouldn't stay closed.Overall it was a cute, prime location. Some of the staff was outstanding, the one not so much. Not sure we would stay here again...but might be worth the price and prime location.

Great location. Some confusion at booking

Overall great experience. I had a moment of confusion when I received an email that a confirmed change was suddenly not available and was told I could upgrade for $50 a night. They were kind enough to make the change without the extra charge but it would have been better to offer that upfront. But the folks were courteous and helpful throughout the process otherwise.

Good location

Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Kinda nostalgic room nice paint color and a soft bed. Small bathroom and the sink is in the main room not the bathroom. Seems overpriced in my opinion.

No control of heat/cooling in the room. "Surprise" bill from VRBO

Great location and friendly staff. Room was marginal regarding cleanliness. I was not aware of the additional charge by verb and therefore will avoid this type of booking in the future.
