Mike was an excellent host. We especially loved the adjacent porch with a great view of the lake and a gentle lake breeze every day. Great place to have breakfast.
All we can say is wow. Michael was a wonderful host and communication was top notch. This place had all the comforts of home and great views of the lake.
Beautiful setting on a quiet lake. Cabin was perfect, very clean, comfortable! The owner was wonderful, kind, helpful, and available if needed. I will definitely be coming back!!
Nice water front cabin! Great area for boating, biking, and hiking. Short bike ride to the Mesabi Bike Trail. Mike is very accommodating to your needs. Well kept place, very clean with nice touches like bottles of water, coffee, very nice towels etc. The separate screen porch is a nice addition giving views of the lake. Swan Lake is an above average lake, clear water and I was told a decent fishing lake. We would definitely stay there again.
Everything contributed to an atmosphere of serenity - the landscaping, cabin interior and location, plus special spaces to connect with the healing aspects of nature.
We loved this place. Pictures don't do justice. It was clean, we had everything we needed, the location was great. You have access to Swan Lake, you have your own dock, water is clear, and great for fishing and swimming. The owner was fantastic with great communication. He provided anything we needed. We recommend this place. It's a piece of heaven.

Thank you so much for your glowing review! It was a pleasure having you!
Had a great stay at this Swan Lake cabin! Very clean and cozy, quiet and private, well-supplied kitchen, with nice lake views especially from the screen house. The dock was an awesome spot to sit and read! A few FYIs for other visitors: the hot water smelled somewhat of sulphur, there is no wifi (totally fine, would just prepare differently knowing that--the vrbo trip page says 'wifi' even if it's not offered as an amenity), and we weren't able to find the laundry in the cabin. Overall recommended for a retreat perfectly balanced between rustic and comfort!

Hi Laine,
Thanks so much for your glowing review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we are so sorry that everything was not up to your standards.
All of the water supplied to the cabin and screen house comes from the private well on the property. Even though we have a dual filters we change on a monthly basis, there will sometimes be a lingering smell but the water is extremely safe to both consume and bathe with.
If you could please let us know where it says WIFI is provided as an amenity and we will let VRBO know that there is a glitch in the listing. We are not able to find this issue to correct it on our side and we are sorry for the confusion.
And lastly, the laundry is in the garage up the hill. This has been utilized by all previous guests without issue. Mike is easy to get in contact with and lives right next door for any questions that may arise during your stay.
Everything you see is how the property is. All utilities provided that'd you'd need. Property owner was very nice and extremely accommodating. Pathway to cabin is nicely lit from solar lamps. Separate cabin was used and very nice as well. Windows can be opened to let air from lake directly in and also has good heat.
Perfect for couples or just yourself getting away. Highly recommended!!!

Thanks so much for staying with us DJ! So glad you enjoyed everything. We'd love to have you stay again!
The cabin and property were just as described, if not better. A private getaway with a beautiful view of the lake and sunrise. Everything in the cabin was super clean and fresh.
We brought a paddle board and some flotation tubes and spent a lovely afternoon on the lake.
I’d definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet getaway on a lake. The property is also close to Grand Rapids and Hibbing. Also we found an awesome meet store 10 miles south of the cabin called Fred’s.
The owner Mike checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and made suggestions for our stay. Great property manager.
This gem was the best escape into a quiet north woods setting! You couldn't help but relax. It was just like it is pictured. Mike was the perfect host-welcoming and helpful, yet respectful of our privacy. The cabin was clean and comfortable with many thoughtful amenities. The screen house with its lake views to watch the sunrise and sunset was perfect. Listening to the waves lapping on the shore and the loons calling over the water lent itself to the peaceful setting. We enjoyed our visit so much, we plan to return. Thank you so much, Mike!

We stayed during the week and found the cabin rustic in all positive ways: lovely, very quiet, spotlessly clean, and very well-equipped. The owner was very friendly and helpful. One day when a hailstorm was expected, he invited us to move our car into his garage for protection. We were able to rent kayaks from the owner's next-door neighbor, which was great. The lake was very quiet: hardly any boat noise during our July stay (we weren't there on a weekend). One small drawback was that there was no wi-fi (I forgot that the cabin wasn't advertised as having it). Another cool thing was that the kitchen was equipped with excellent coffee and snacks. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
This is the best rental that we have ever experienced (VRBO and others). It is like having your own private cabin fully stocked with amenities. The furniture is welcoming and comfortable. The pine covered walls and built-ins give it a cabin feel with plenty of room for two people. The kitchen and outside grill can be the site of your cooking if you choose or there are plenty of restaurants to visit within a 15 miles radius. The detached screen house offers a view of Swan Lake, a quiet place to read, or catch something on TV. Dockside you can watch the loons, bald eagles, or any lake activity. You can take a swim or a boat ride. We were there over Labor Day and it was a little busier but calm and peaceful the rest of the days. Mike is the consummate host. He treats you not like a renter, but like a friend. Nearby if there is a question but respectful of your privacy. We have rented this cabin for three consecutive summers and plan to return next year. Fall would be a beautiful time to visit as well to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Many thanks Mike for sharing this place with us.
