Wonderful area, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Polynesian Shores...could have spent all day, every day watching the many, many sea turtles from the shore. The condo is nicely appointed and comfortable for two people to stay. We had everything needed from beach towels to chairs, and the lack of a/c was not an issue at all. Would definitely book again if we are ever back that way.

Queit and Relaxing location

  • 4 of 5

Polynesian Shores is very quiet and relaxing complex. The amenities were as described. When we arrived there was juice and banana bead, a nice touch after a long flight. Parking is great and close to unit. They have a new maintenance guy who seems to be doing a great job and was continuously cleaning grills, planting, paining, etc. I even saw him cleaning the pool at 5:30am when we woke up to do the road to Hana.

Beth, was incredibly responsive, usually in hours, to any queries I had before arriving. We did not have to touch base when we were there as everything went as planned and described.

The place is not overly updated per sae but is clean and well maintained. Similar to other places we have stayed.

There are beach chairs, two snorkeling sets, a fishing rod, soft and hard coolers that can be used.

Unfortunately they were doing a few ground repairs when were there so there was a pile of dirt and safety cones in our direct view but these things happen and need to be done. It happens everywhere - maintenance.

The beach has also apparently washed away this winter so there is no direct access to get in the water ( I noticed this in many areas across the island which used to have more beach area - even Black Rock seemed to have less beach than last year. Hopefully the tide brings the beaches back.

Tons of turtles right in from of the resort. One morning I believe there must have been a few dozen of them playing around. I counted 7 in one wave so they were plentiful.

Overall a friendly relaxing complex with a responsive owner who is vested in keeping the unit in good shape and ensuring good experiences. I would not hesitate in letting others know about this place.

Great young family vacation getaway. Downstairs unit, swimming pool and partial ocean view.

  • 4 of 5

Clean unit offered all basic amenities. Swimming pool is small, which made it ideal for very young families. Christmas 2017 were filled with many many young families,; in which making sleeping-in impossible with the little feet running back and forth and furnitures dragged around from the 2nd floor occupiers, at the crack of dawn. Next door unit is occupied by primary residents. Friendly and always home. So we felt obliged to be mindful with our noise. Property sits on rugged rocky ocean front. Do not expect to see or have access to a Sandy Beach from this property. Property is very close to Kapalua Air Field, a very small airfield for Mokulele Airlines. Gorgeous view of the island of Lanai. Incredible sunsets. Perfect temperature.

Owner's Response: Aloha Cindy I am happy to read you enjoyed your vacation and Christmas at the property. Unfortunately like most properties on the West side we have been experiencing a wash away of the beach. This happens every now and then and we just decide it was time for the sand to take a vacation at Molokai. it will return eventually. Also happy to read you were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. I do hope you will consider visiting and staying with us again in the future. Mahalo Beth

Love this unit!

  • 4 of 5

We stay for several weeks each time we visit this lovely community. Beth keeps the unit updated and the unit is perfect because it is ground floor and completely out of the sun. The complex is away from the tourist centers, so you get more of a local island experience.

It was cute, friendly n kept up

  • 4 of 5

Our first time in Maui, had our 11 mo baby and my mom with us! It was clean, cute and fun. It got a bit hotter then I'm comfortable with inside around 3 pm every day, the fans n open doors n windows just weren't enough, but a cold shower at night cooled it all down. The bed was soooo comfy. My mom stayed on the pull out and had to adjust a bit to the springs. The pool was nice and well kept. The lil section of beach was great! Saw turtles every night sleeping, swam with turtles and fish every day! Beth was great to work with, quick to respond to my emails. It wasn't till the 4th day we saw the board where they welcome the families staying there, so we missed seeing our name but it was really sweet they did that. Within walking distance to a big park with toys n fun beach, shopping n eating. Not a single mosquito or bugs besides little flies by the beach. The landscaping was cute! truly enjoyed my first time. Would maybe come back during a cooler time tho so the rooms weren't as warm. Overall very happy with our experience!

Owner's Response: Aloha Cathy Thank you for the lovely review. I am sorry to read you didn't see you Aloha welcome on the board but it sounds like you were quite busy having fun. I am also sorry to read you were a bit uncomfortable in the afternoon. The greatest majority of the time we have the benefit of the trade winds, and being located between the West Maui Mountains and the ocean it is quite pleasant and comfortable. I do hope you will come back and see us in the future and look forward to having you return in the future Mahalo Beth Sunsets In Paradise

Beautiful Property and Memories!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at your condo and enjoyed the property very much. The flowers are gorgeous. We saw turtles everyday & several whale splashes. It was very relaxing & I really appreciated it was on the bottom level with direct access to the lawn, pool, grills and ocean. Sunsets every night, lighting of the torches, climbing on the rocks over to the beach were daily and nightly occurrences for Brad & myself.

Thank you very much for letting us stay in paradise for our wedding and honeymoon. Each beach we visited was different & we had a lot of fun in Lahaina. We were married at Kapalua Bay, went to the Feast at Lele, sunset dinner cruise on Trilogy and bottom fishing on Start me Up.

We are now back in Illinois and are planning our return!! We hope your home is available again!!

We have beautiful pictures of your property and the turtles 😎
