We enjoyed The Bear Cub Cabin! Perfect location, clean, and comfortable! It was great relaxing in the hot tub after hiking all day. My teenage boys loved the pool table.
Great property, close to the climbing areas and restaurants. Hot tub was great for a post climb soak.

Thank you so much for the kind review. It pleases us to hear that our guests have enjoyed themselves. Please come back and see us.
I'm usually a hotel kind of person but I have to say the cabin was very nice I will definitely be back. the location was awesome cabins below but far enough you can't really hear them.
I guess we expected a bit more secluded, but it still a nice quiet area. We did not notice when booking that it doesn't have wifi, which actually turned out to be nice. All in all, it was a nice property. Don't expect a 5 star hotel, but it was great for us being on a budget.
For the price it was great. Easy fast check in/ easy to get to. Clean and the hot tub worked great. Only bad I seen was no chalk for the pool cues but no biggie. I would stay again.

Location of property was great. Close to attractions & hiking trails in the area. If you are planning to cook meals onsite may want to bring your own pots & pans. There were 2 12 inch fry pans & 1 sauce pan, & 1 glass cake pan. Not really enough to cook a full meal. Oven was dirty. Owner was notified of oven condition upon check out. If not going to be cooking won't be a problem. Did not use hot tub so cannot speak to it.

It was great... We didn't wxpect the little things we had packed for our stay... But, they were there...😊
And, the pool table was absolutely divine to play .... 😁
Would definitely stay in the Bear Cub II again...

We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again.
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The cabin was clean and well equipped. Excellent location! Close to Miguel’s Pizza which was excellent! Princess Arch and Chimney Top are the easiest out and back hikes with spectacular views. Our only complaint is that the pictures showed a fooseball table in the living room (which, granted, would have made it feel quite crowded as well as being loud… still, we booked partly for that) and it was gone. There was, however, a brand new hot tub which was fabulous!

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay...Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We apologize for the absence of the fooseball table. That was a recent decision without time to contact you. Glad you were able to take in some of the beautiful hiking trails in the area. Hope you'll consider a stay with us again in the future.
Love this cabin and the ease of booking and check in. Don't usually review but wanted to give a shout out to whoever built the deck AROUND the existing trees. Most would cut the trees out of the way, but they worked around the trees and cut a hole in the deck for the trees to grow through. Would highly recommend this place for anyone staying in the gorge and will definitely return.

Thank You for your kind words. We try to make our guest's check-in an easy procedure so your adventure can begin as quick as possible. Also, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the 'uniqueness' of the deck.
Lack of reliable Internet/wireless / Cabin mildew smells
Check in was supposed to be open to 8 pm but they were closed by 5 pm and poor Internet/cell made it difficult to call them or learn how to pick up the key. There was Wi-Fi in the cabin but it was VERY intermittent. Have all of your information printed out in advance. The cabin had a strong mildew smell, especially in the lower level.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify a few points mentioned in your review for accuracy.
Internet: Service had only just been installed at this cabin prior to your stay and had not yet been listed as an amenity. We were still testing it to ensure reliability before advertising it. While it may have been intermittent during your visit, the Wi-Fi is now fully stable and functioning as intended.
Check-In: Our office is scheduled to be open until 8 p.m., but it closed early that day. We do text afterhours procedures to guests if we close early or the guest has not arrived by close. That said, we strongly recommend guests always print or save their arrival information in advance, as both cell service and Wi-Fi can be limited in this rural area.
Cabin Condition: Regarding the comment about mildew, the cabin is cleaned and inspected regularly, and this is not a recurring issue. We have had our housekeeping supervisor and maintenance team review the lower level again to ensure there are no underlying concerns.
Your stay coincided with some timing challenges as we were finalizing updates, but the cabin remains a well-maintained and highly rated property. Feedback like yours is always reviewed, but it is important for future guests to know the full context.

Great location but
Location was great, but it was clear that there was a mouse problem. The cabin didn’t seem clean at all and the kitchen was not well equipped with even the basics to cook with, the oven and burners both smelled bad when trying to use them, I found later it was bc of mouse poop

We apologize for your bad experience. Hope we can make it right on your next trip.
The property is not fancy but quite functional and clean, with more than enough room and comfortable sleeping spaces for a typical family, everything worked as it should. No laundry but we did not need it for a weekend visit.
There are stores near by and a good Mexican restaurant, and the location is close to the local attractions . Cell phone reception is very poor and there is no WIFI, which I think would be a significant improvement that should be considered. The gravel driveway is fairly steep and could be a bit challenging for a front wheel drive car. Overall we are happy with our stay and we would go back in the future.
