About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

Beautiful rustic, yet sophisticated house built in 2008. It is on a large wooded lot on the main channel of the lake with a really big water view. The best sunset view is from the upper screened-in porch, with the trees silhouetted in between. Blue herons, cranes, and many other birds and wildlife. Hike to the dam on a trail through the woods; enjoy sitting on the dock or swimming and boating off the dock in the summer.

State of the art kitchen with a gas range, double convection ovens, magnificent granite counter tops, and a natural stone bar with soft lighting. Dining area connects the kitchen to the den, which has a huge stone fireplace, comfortable Bob Timberlake furnishings, and a 63' high definition plasma television with surround sound. Wet-bar in the den has a built-in ice maker, wine rack, and handy sink. Screened windows open in front and back to allow a wonderful cross breeze if desired.

Off the kitchen is a screened-in porch with rustic rocking chairs and tables. The huge deck, connected to the kitchen and den, is equipped with a gas grill and a small table for outside meals. Steps lead you downstairs to a raised wooded walkway to the dock.

Every room has an a full view of the water. You feel like you are in a tree house, which is where it got the name Tarheel Tree house! The main master bedroom has a large walk-in shower with dual shower heads.

Three bedrooms: 2 masters with queen beds, 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. The beds are made for comfort with pillow-top mattresses and homestyle quilts. Bedrooms are decorated for with artwork and charming furniture.

The detached garage has a playrrom abvove it with pool and foosball tables, along with a queen-size futon. It is not air-conditioned or heated, so it is most comfortable when temperatures allow for the window and door to be open for a cross-breeze.

Keywords: Sophisticated yet rustic, outdoor fire pit, stone fireplace, big water view, awesome decks and porches

Great getaway home

  • 5 of 5

We spent spring break at the Tarheel Treehouse and had an amazing time. Our family of four had more than enough room. Inside and out it was perfect and exactly what we needed. Plan on coming back this summer with friends and make more memories.

Excellent choice!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this house for our family gathering and enjoyed it tremendously! The open floor plan allowed all of us to be together very easily. Our one son lives on High Rock Lake also and he brought his boat over to the nice dock area. Overall, everything was very nice!

Amazing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our kids and my sister brother in law and her kids had an absolute blast here. The house is amazing and the owners were so nice and quick to respond to any questions we had. Our favorite part of the house was the screened in porch off the kitchen. That's where we spent the majority of our time. The kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming .. The guys loved fishing .. Caught and ate some catfish. The house was more than we expected for sure. Beautiful kitchen! Very comfortable furniture in every room and the view of the sunset was just a wow! Would LOVE to come back and recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in a beautiful home!

Thanksgiving Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a great Thanksgiving get-together at this house. I agree with all the five-star ratings--lovely house with great views of High Rock Lake! We had much fun cooking in the wonderful kitchen, eating at the big long dining table, relaxing in the living room, etc. Some of the younger relatives enjoyed kayaking on the lake and there was also some fishing done off the deck. Bedrooms were beautiful and adequate for us and I agree, for more than 8 people, extra mattresses provided would need to be used. All relatives who visited were delighted with this place!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a great property this was!... I had planned a week long surprise retreat for my husband's parents and brother/sisters . Everyone had a great time, either relaxing by the water on the private dock, sunrise and sunset fishing, or water sports in the lake. It was a spacious house with 3 bedrooms. Just keep in mind , though that if you have more than 8 people , they will need to use the foam mattresses provided. I also really liked the nice updated kitchen and gas stove, we did a lot of cooking and was pleasantly surprised that they also provided nice pots and pans! There was also plenty of seating at kitchen table and the screened-in porches which is important for big family gatherings=) Thanks again for a wonderful time and we will probably use you in the future

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed everything; we're alwayss happy when people make good memories in our home! The 4 foam mattresses are intended for over-flow sleeping for children and adults. We've used them everywhere, including the screened-in porches, the playroom over the garage and the dock!!! The 4" foam makes them very comfortable.
