We hired Master Chef Chris MacFarlane for the 7 day stay and requested for native island meals. He was the best!
We shopped together and had salt fish, Ackee, bammy, breadfruit, ox tail, Beef bone soup, jerk chicken, rice and peas, fried fish and crab, yams, green bananas, plantain and more veggies. He would cook it up so scrumptiously..
The accommodations were not quite like the vrbo ad. The jacuzzi didn't work, the electricity was inconsistent one night, there was no hand soap in the house, the outdoor lounging areas was non existent, there was no laundry dryer only outdoor lines ( not always useful in the rainy days we were there), the sofas are dated and lumpy, there was no hot water for bathing only Luke warm, and if you are particular about your pillows I suggest bring your own. The decorative pillows on the bed were too big to sleep on. The living room TV speakers are blown and there is an x box but no way to plug it in to use it. The fans on the front veranda and the master bedroom did not work.
