About this property

Garden Home, private and spacious with hot tub, only 5 minutes to city center

The Garden Home is only 4miles north of downtown Durango and has a park like setting on an acre of land. This home is a wonderful relaxing getaway with the exterior features such as a large deck, HOT TUB, BBQ grill, and fire pit, all for personal use. The main bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor and a spiral staircase leads to 2 additional bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. It's the perfect home for any season, as you can enjoy the flowerbeds in the summer or snuggle up by the fireplace in the winter. Home has central AC for those hot summer months and a wood burning stove stocked with wood for you during the winter months. Bonus is that it's only 20min to Purgatory! The host occasionally stays next door.

Excellent location, cute house and property. Very clean. Easy check-in and check-out. The only negative was the strong smell of air fresheners/Glade plug-ins. We all commented that it irritated our eyes. Our clothes even picked up that smell.

Nice little cottage home. It's old, but the owners have kept it in good condition. They had a lot of nice touches like firewood, a generously sized hot tub, paper towels and toilet paper. The house has a decently strong cleaner smell when you walk in, but you can unplug the air freshener by the bay window and that helps. It's very conveniently located between downtown Durango and Purgatory. The only real negative about the place is that the beds are very uncomfortable. The master bed is a queen but felt more like a full. The mattress and bed spread seemed old. The mattress was very soft so my back hurt every morning. When you move at night it shakes the whole bed. My son slept on one of the twin mattresses and said it was too uncomfortable. He spent the rest of the stay on the couch.We'd stay here again if they refreshed the beds.

Beautiful property!

We enjoyed this quaint house for our family vacation to Durango. The property is in a nice and quiet location. The deck, hot tub, and propane grill were the highlight for us!

Great spot, well-equipped for guests!

My sister and I had a lovely time staying here for several nights while visiting my adult son in Durango. The kitchen is particularly well-stocked with cookware, and we had a few people over for dinner one night and were able to make and serve a great meal. Not always possible with the kitchens in many VRBOs! It was lovely to have the hot tub as well, and don't miss the spectacular trail that goes up behind the house! What a great stay. I will try to book this home again next time I visit Durango!

Ski Trip to Purgatory

Excellent accommodations with 3 bedrooms and all the amenities that one could ask for plus a bonus outdoor hit tub to soothe ones aching muscles after one or a number of days of skiing. Only 15 minute drive to ski area ; excellent location.

A Beautiful Location

We loved staying here! This property is beautiful, with tons of green surrounding it. The home was clean and great for families, with several beds and two bathrooms. Communication with the hosts was also excellent. We hope to stay here again and highly recommend this place!

Nice “home” environment

This house made my family feel right at home. Very comfortable surroundings with a hot tub we enjoyed! Close to all activities in and around Durango. Be advised the spiral staircase to second floor makes lugging suitcases a bit tricky.

Amazing house

This house was exactly what we were looking for our weekend wedding stay. Clean, convenient, quiet. Had only one minor issue with getting into the house and the host was responsive and rectified it immediately. Couldn't recommend the house and host more, and bookmarked for future stays.
