Welcome to your thoughtfully designed, fully equipped getaway near Indiana Dunes National Park — perfect for families, friend groups, or anyone chasing sandy shores and tree-lined trails. Historically pet-friendly, freshly updated, and just a few minutes' walk to historic downtown Chesterton.

3 bedrooms | 2 bathrooms | 2 living rooms with Smart TVs | Private fenced backyard with fire pit

OUTDOOR LIVING
Covered outdoor dining area, seats 8+. Adirondack chairs for lounging. Fire pit for s'mores and late-night gatherings. Private fenced-in backyard, safe and spacious for kids and pets.

INDOOR LIVING
2 Smart TVs for streaming. Dining table for meals and game nights. Books and board games for all ages.

KITCHEN
Fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, drip coffee maker, toaster, and water filter. Complimentary teas, spices, cooking basics, and knife set. Complete dishware, cookware, and flatware.

GENERAL AMENITIES
Central heating and A/C. Washer and dryer, private on the main level. Fresh linens, towels, and beach towels provided. Hair dryer. Keyless entry for easy self-check-in.

PARKING
Driveway fits up to 4 vehicles.

GUEST ACCESS
The entire home plus all listed amenities are included in your stay. I'm available by phone or message throughout your stay, and self-check-in means your time is your own.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in: 4:00 PM Check-out: 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is often possible depending on same-day turnovers for a 50$ fee — just ask. Key code and instructions are sent by message the morning of arrival. Chesterton operates on Central Standard Time (CST).

ACCESSIBILITY & SAFETY NOTES
Three outdoor steps to enter the home. Main-level bedroom and bathroom available. Homes are not baby-proofed (no outlet covers, no cabinet locks, furniture not secured to walls) — guests are responsible for supervising children. Max occupancy: 9 guests.

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
Primary guest must be 25+ with a verified government ID. Guests with positive prior reviews are preferred, or a fully refundable $300 damage deposit hold will apply. The deposit is an authorization hold only, released after checkout once the home is confirmed in good condition.

HOUSE RULES
No smoking on the property. No parties or large gatherings. Must be 25+ to book. Report any damage during your stay.

PET POLICY
Dogs allowed, $50 fee per dog. Must be crated if left alone. Max 3 dogs, not allowed on beds or furniture. Extra cleaning or damage fees may apply for violations.

RENTAL AGREEMENT
After booking, guests will be asked to sign a standard rental agreement reflecting these house rules and booking details. Information collected is used only to coordinate your stay and is kept strictly confidential.

This home is very convenient to Indiana Dunes. It is stocked with everything you need in the kitchen. The stairs are steep and my 14yr old did fall once so make sure you are able to navigate stairs. Able bodied and non-clumsy people will have no problem. You can walk to get a delicious Gyro just around the corner. The train didn't bother us at all, It is an old house but it is fixed up nice. Pretty quiet for sitting right in a town. Outside patio area is nice. We are country folks but we felt safe.

The upstairs gets really hot even with the portable/c unit provided 2nd tv room not very useful due to heat. Some items in description not available like personal toiletries left as notes and no travel high chair. Also no gazebo. But a plus is they have beach toys to use and the backyard is huge. Kitchen stocked to cook. The host is also great with communication. Location is PERFECT. Neighborhood is safe and quiet

Everything was as described! House was in a great location (Go across the parking lot to George's for lunch if you're hungry). Easy access to all highways and the train into Chicago.Beds were comfortable. Everything worked as it should. Kind of wish there was a tv in the bedroom and the couch was kinda lumpy, but nothing that would make me change my rating.Overall was a great stay and we will definitely be back when we come to visit family.

You can pack light as there are a lot of supplies in the home. The home is within walking distance to everything with exception of the grocery store and that is a 5 minute drive. Home was clean and property manager was responsive to our needs. Very friendly.

Great group vacation spot

Cozy, clean, welcoming, and plenty of space for all 8 of us! We had a great time at a nearby beach and there was enough to do in the area that we stayed busy even on rainy days. It was pretty perfect for a group weekend getaway!

Great location for the national park and state park and a day trip to Chicago. Was not happy with the host of the house. Upon arrival the house had unlocked windows, ripped blinds on both sides of house, trash from last guest, dead bug, towels were folded wet not damp but wet. Broken fence panels in yard and we paid a pet fee and picked this house for the back yard. Storm damage had the gazebo upside down in side yard. Trash on floors upstairs and downstairs. When contacting the host I was told he left bug spray if I wanted to spray for bugs, I could dry the towels and I could take the trash out and him and his team would get back with me on the rest of it. That was Sunday. We left the following Sunday and never heard a peep from him or his team. Very disappointed since this home had a high rating. I did not go on vacation to spray for bugs empty others trash and to keep my dogs on a leash. Apparently from talking to people the storm damage was not recent it was just taken care of.

The cleanliness issues, the damaged blinds and fence, and the gazebo should have been addressed before your arrival, and my response once you reached out fell short. That's on me. I've since reviewed my turnover and maintenance process to make sure guests aren't left to deal with these things themselves. I appreciate the feedback and apologize again for the experience.

Eddi's place was great! Clean, spacious, right off the highway and close to the Dunes. Great backyard but to cold for us to enjoy... Would highly recommend!

The house has recently been painted and it looks great! However, it's not white with blue trim like the online pics... it's dark gray in front. It looks sharp and modern, but I don't think the house numbers are even up yet, so that threw us off when we were trying to find it. Excellent update transformation!Eddi is a communicative host through emails. I unfortunately didn't check my emails during my stay. Check in instructions provided ahead of time worked great. I was happy to find the house in order, we followed the rules in the guide book and the checkout info on the wall, but I learned afterward that I should have taken out the garbage and stripped the beds to make it easier for the cleaning crew. Sorry Eddi, I wasn't attentive to my email during my stay. I guess I just unplugged for the vacation. My family thinks the VRBO should have provided tissues. We fixed this with a trip to the store, but I guess spring allergies were in full bloom because our group was looking for tissues but didn't find any. I personally didn't find this to be a huge issue, but my mother who is a 84 year old little Italian lady let me know it was a problem. Overall it was a nice place that met our needs just fine. Thank you for helping make our family trip a success!

I'm thrilled you liked the new paint — you're right that the dark gray is a big change from the older photos, and getting the house numbers back up is on my list so the next guests aren't second-guessing the address.
