Why Lori J. Maag chose Lore City
Location, location, location! Salt Fork State Park with its 3,000 acre lake & 22,000 acres of land is right here at the base of our road. You actually are driving thru the park on your way to the cabin.Your cabin is secluded, serene & peaceful. Nicely decorated, well equipped & very clean. While on Your deck, you see nothing but woods abound - while in the Hot Tub, Grilling or sitting on the Deck enjoying your Favorite Beverage. There is a Private Bonfire Pit .Guests stay a week & could stay longer, because "there is so much to do & see". WE rent pontoon boats to our Guests to cruise this incredible Lake. This lake is a finger lake (not round) with many areas to play & grill out. No speed limit on this lake! Enjoy dinner at the Bear's Den....steaks (they own their own Angus cattle!), seafood, pasta. Great Food! & close to Your Cabin. Enjoy yourself at Timberline! We appreciate your business.
What makes this Cabin unique

Cabin is nice and cozy
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is fairly secluded. We felt the cabin is priced on the high end particularly for the time of year. The beds are outdated and not very comfortable as well. Overall stay was peaceful.
Hello Julie - thank you for taking the time to review the Whitetail.
September is still consider 'peak time', therefore the rate of $245 per night. Our rates decrease after November's end.
Sorry you feel the beds are outdated. The two twins upstairs are brand new boxsprings & mattresses. Maybe you are speaking of the bunk mattresses. Time for replacement for sure.
Thank you again..... & for visiting.
family from Pennsylvania taking vacation in Ohio
we planned a long weekend at the Richmond cabin at Timber Line Cabins, which was very close to Salt Fork Lake. We rented the cabin along with their pontoon boat. The owners were very nice and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. It poured the day we chose to be on the lake for our pontoon boat and luckily the boat was available for another day of our stay so they were accommodating to us in switching our rental day. The cabin sat back in a circle with a couple other cabins on the same lane, and there were people staying at the other cabins, however, it was so quiet and peaceful outside you would never know anyone was around. our fire ring outside was set up in the back of the yard so it was private and the hot tub was perfect after a 5 hour drive to Ohio to relax in and also was fun to hang out on the porch when it was raining in the hot tub and sitting around playing cards on the huge front porch. The cabin itself was beautiful and very clean. There were 6 of us staying in the cabin and although it was a smaller cabin that slept 6, we still had plenty of room. They also had corn hole and volley ball set up outside for community use amongst the cabins on our lane, which was great. we did not personally use them, but I noticed others were out there enjoying them.
Jen - thank you so much for the kind words. So glad you enjoyed your stay! Hope to see you again in the near future. Remember - we are open during the Winter months!
We decided to try Timberline Cabins in order to explore Salt Fork Lake park. We were very happy with the accommodations. The Cottage was clean and very private feeling even though there were other cottages nearby. We like to cook, so we appreciated the clean kitchen and newer stove. The covered side porch and hot tub were our favorite areas! There was a nice area with a picnic table and a fire ring, and each cottage had their own. The owners were very accommodating and easy to deal with. We would definitely try to stay again if we visit the Salt Fork area! I would love to try the pontoon boat rental the next time!
Hello Kathleen - thank you so much for the great review! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Yes! The Pontoon - wonderful to cruise the 3,000 acre lake. Guests tell me it was the best part of their stay. Take care.
When staying at the Whitetail, expect peace, serenity & relaxation. Relax in your Hot Tub, read a book by the fireplace, gather at the Bonfire. The area has so much to offer. Salt Fork Lake is just 3 miles away - we have Pontoon Rentals for our Guests! Just drive to the Dock & board your boat to cruise Salt Fork's 3,000 acre Lake. View deer drinking from the lake, Geese cruising around & many beautiful Trees. Downtown Cambridge is so quaint & enjoyable. Antique Stores, shops, restaurants, wineries. Be sure to stop at theGuernsey Kitchen & McKenna's Market! And Christmas time here is just so romantic & holiday like! Enjoy the Dickens Victorian Village display & the light show at the Courthouse. Thank you for considering the Whitetail Cabin.
