Wedding Weekend

Overall it was clean, I would like to note all bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs, and the driveway only holds two cars we were able to squeeze in three. We had a nice stay!

My worst experience, inaccurate description. House dust everywhere. Dirty carpet, drapes .Neighborhood dirty and unsafe. Do not rent this property. I had to clean in order to sleep there - unable to find hotel last minute. Honestly was my worst experience.

The house worked perfect for our needs while in Connecticut.

We came to visit family for a funeral. This house was perfect for our needs for this visit with family. We had 5 adults staying. The kitchen was perfect size for our needs. Having 2 bathrooms was great. The neighborhood was quiet and private parking was a plus.

Very clean, but cheap furniture

The house was definitely clean. Easy to check in and the owner responds quickly. Our issues were mostly with furniture being wobbly and seemingly unstable, and a balcony that looked like it could fall at anytime. The beds were comfortable and extra towels and sheets were readily available. The bath water did not get hot enough, though, so we heated water and poured it in for the kid to bathe. Nothing was so unbearable that we needed to bother the owner. We stayed 6 nights.

Quiet retreat

We came for work and left wanting more. We are from Los Angeles and during our stay, we experienced a snowstorm with 11” of snow. Our car was snowed it and we didn’t have tools to shovel ourselves out. To our surprise, the host arranged some snow shovelers. We were so grateful. All the worries were gone and spent the rest of the snow day playing. The property met all of our expectations. The check in and check out process was very easy. The host was very communicative and quick to respond. The hot water is very hot and comes quickly. The washing machines are large and new. I definitely would recommend this property.

Mixed review

The host had some nice touches with breakfast pods, water bottles, breakfast bars and washer detergent. The problem was there were carpenter ants in the living room near the sliding door. The host offered to call in pest control but we opted to get a can of ant spray and use it. This house doesn’t have air conditioning which I didn’t notice when reading the information online. Think if they resolve those issues, I would recommend them.

It was great hosting you Nancy. Exterminator was there shortly after you left and treated the issue of the ants., they are gone. The air conditioning was in the garage and has been installed. The house has full blast air conditioning now. Future guest will never be hot during the summer. All the issue stated has been fixed. We appreciate your stay with us and look forward to hosting you in the future.

A great place

The place is just as it is in the pictures. My guests enjoyed staying there and gave some constructive feedback that the host and the prospective guests might be interested. 1. Since my guests were seniors (the average age around 70), the bedrooms in the second floor was a little bit inconvenient for them. You should know all three bedrooms are located in the second floor. 2. The water pressure in the second bathroom was low. 3. They hoped that there are more spaces on the sink in the second bedroom since 2-3 people will share it. The host responded immediately to the questions. Thank you.

Review

This was the 2nd time we stayed here & will be our last. First off the neighborhood is not the best & it is not a Colonial. Upon arrival A/C master bedroom was leaking & upon reading reviews this is an ongoing issue. The water leak did not happen overnight or window mildew. One year ago, it was ok but no maintenance seems to be done. The baseboard heat is open with no cover, same as last year. Dinning room ceiling has a large stain area from leaking AC unit in master bedroom, water in light from leak so not able to turn on. Dinning table was filthy from water leak. Draperies in living area have water stains. Kitchen window & dining window appear to have mildew. Ran out of hot water after two showers. The owner did send over a housekeeper to clean up water upon our complaint of A/C. We paid a total of 1000 for two nights four adults & this is way too much for what you get. Owner has been responsive both times we stayed but he needs to put work into it & maintain it. The cost was too much & I feel we need some a refund of some sort as it is not worth 500 a night. Would not recommend anyone stay here.

DO NOT RENT!

Let me see if I can summarize this scam of a rental... We didn't arrive until 12:45am so we had to wait until the light of day to soak this place in. The smell alone from the minute we opened the door let us know, it wasn't going to be good. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children in for a wedding. The smell was so bad we didn't want our clothes to pick up the odor of either cat litter box or rotten salami. We couldn't decide which it was. We stayed for less then 10hrs and chose to get a clean hotel room to wash this place off of us. I contacted the owner by email once settled at the hotel. His reply was I should've contacted him sooner because there's always a maintenance staff. This place shouldn't be listed as a rental so maintenance staff wasn't going to fix that. The furniture is very cheap/wobbly, curtains on windows don't really cover the windows, broken light fixture in closet. The outside space in back is just nasty, nails in driveway and on the back "deck" which is in desperate need of repair. Overall sense of filth to this property. Personally, I loved the 1am wake up call from neighbors outside arguing and swearing at each other. Added to the ambiance of the inside. We have stayed at many VRBOs and can honestly say, this is the first and hopefully the last time we are conned by someone trying to make money off a property that has no business being listed on VRBO. I wrote an honest review to prevent other people from being scammed like we were!
