Lipstick on a pig—zero confidence in safety/security
Many things went wrong from the beginning after booking a week long stay here. Some simple questions about amenities went completely ignored in messaging. I had to track down the property manager by finding the same apartment listed on another rental platform and message him there. Inaccurate answers about whether laundry/hairdryer were given. After that, I had to ask them for check-in instructions as they forgot to send them. Not a confident start, but tried to remain positive.
The apartment is well located, but isn’t a comfortable stay for a week. The water pressure is almost non existent, at one point completely stopping during one of our showers. A promised hairdryer (confirmed before arrival) wasn’t provided until day 3, and then only 1 provided for 3 bathrooms/6 guests. It was 40 degrees the first few mornings in CDMX—not exactly a pleasant experience with wet hair. Not enough towels/glasses/dishes which would be such an easy fix but just added to the pile of things that fell short.
There is no way to exit the building without the doorman. At one point waited 20 minutes locked inside. Felt nervous by this.
All this was aggravating but forgiveable, as we’ve all travelled internationally and don’t expect anything to be perfect. But completely UNFORGIVABLE: we had money missing from our belongings. And little urgency to investigate.
Lesson learned. All signs started in the beginning. Not a safe apartment for your belongings—would 100% advise AGAINST booking here.
