About the property

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.25 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Shhh! Mt Washington is one of Vancouver Island's best kept secrets. This family oriented ski hill boasted the 2nd largest snow pack during the 2010 Olympics. Mt Washington is easily accessible driving directly from Victoria, BC , or it is a quick trip over on the ferry from the mainland. During the summer it is a destination for hikers and mountain bikers as they explore the slopes of the mountain or the world renowned Strathcona Park. During the winter it is a magical snowy wonderland.

This beautiful new and modern townhouse offers families a wonderful place to relax. Located perfectly between the cross country lodge and the alpine resort, this drive-in, ski-out townhouse is a treat. Views of Strathcona Park dazzle non skiers and skiers alike. In the winter the home is perfectly set up for families who can quickly escort their children right across the street to the nearest chair lift, and quickly back again for apres ski when the day is done.

In the summer you can dine 'al fresco' on the patio after a day of hiking, fishing or biking and revel in the peace and serenity offered. Ample storage is available in the garage to store all the toys you like to travel with.

This unit is one of two available ( side by side) for rent. Perfect for summer weddings and Christmas celebrations.

Tastefully decorated and 'new' as of 2007. Well equipped, comfortable beds and 12 foot ceilings, this spacious townhouse will provide one of the most wonderful bases for your family vacation. Enjoy!!

About Samantha Stone

We are a fun loving couple who enjoys our time with our children. We love to travel and our vacations are active.

Samantha Stone purchased this townhome in 2009

Why Samantha Stone chose Comox-Strathcona C

We were excited to learn that there was a ski hill on Vancouver Island that was affordable to access and to teach our children how to ski. We have since learned that it is one of the nicest family oriented ski hills with a range of skiing from beginner to technical. It also has boasted some of the best snow in the province.

What makes this townhome unique

We couldn't believe how beautiful it was in the summer.

Instant access to trails and boardwalk area around Strathcona park in the summer. A beautiful place to be too to access day to Qualicum Beach, Courteney, Comox, Parksville and Campbell River by day but peace by night.

Perfectly set up for families. We have a playpen and high chair for use as well. The drive-in, ski-out feature is helpful for parents wanting to balance and share ski time and child care. Sooo close to the chair lifts you can see them - and the road in front is maintained by BC highways. This is an added bonus if there is a HUGE snow dump.... which IS what we want. Alpine or Nordic - you are close to both sites.

We had a wonderful time. Very convenient to the lift going up and snowshoe trails right across the street. The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable. Enough room to spread out and enjoy. It was a wonderful trip.

Great family accommodation

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time in this place. We were three generations spanning ages from 2 to 65, and it worked for all of us. It's nice and close to the ski hill. There is a great table for family dining and a counter with stools for feeding smaller contingents. There is good separation between the bedrooms and living area, which meant some people could be sleeping while others are up. The owner was easy to reach and helpful when we had questions or needed something. We would stay here again.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights in February, and loved it. There's lots of room for everyone, and we were able to (almost) ski right back to the house. We'll definitely be back to stay again.

Great views and lots of room

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in the summer and it was very serene and quiet! Loved that there was a floor for everyone in our family and the balcony was great to sit out on in the morning and at night to enjoy the views. Enjoyed the sauna after being out in rainy days and the kids enjoyed all the toys and the 4 bed bunk room. Beautiful drive to and from the surrounding towns which most are only 45 min away and lots of deer and elk to see. Will definitely look at coming back again with the family during the summer months!

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, on Vancouver Island

  • 5 of 5

We like to hike, so stayed here in the non winter time. It was perfect! We hiked and explored all day and came home to everything we needed. The townhome was roomy, clean, well maintained. The owner very responsive to any questions. We hiked up Mt Washington and got to ride down on the chair lift! The views from the top are gorgeous. Forbidden Plateau was a lovely hike, a 5 minute walk away from the townhome. We loved the Black in Pub in Comax. We took day trips to Campbell River, Gold River, Parksville, each having charm of their own. Miracle Beach is a must see too. We stayed a week, cannot beat that weekly rate either! Highly recommend!

Perfect winter wonderland!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better location! This town home has everything a family could need and the location is beautiful! We were lucky to have lots of snow and could even go sledding right next to the condo:) Plus, the skiers in our family were able to make short pit stops for lunch and then just walk back up the hill to the chair lift to ski. The snow was cleared off the roads a few times a day which made it easy to drive. We would highly recommend this town home and hope to stay in it again. The owner was also extremely helpful and answered my emails in a prompt manner. We really could not have asked for a better place and have wonderful memories to last us a lifetime!!
