Why anthony jerkunica chose Carbondale
This house is in a spectacular location affording the best views away from traffic and obscured views in Marble. I was so inspired by the beauty that building it was a labor of love. The location provides complete rejuvenation and inspires a deep connection WITH FAMILY MEMBERS, PARTNERS AND FRIENDS. This house is in a location where your mind can relax without distraction from the outside world. How rare in this day and age! Pick any mountain/alpine experience and it is here to refresh and invigorate you.
What makes this Cabin unique
First and foremost, this house offers unparalleled views compared to anywhere in Marble and is bathed in sun so it is a bright and uplifting location. Secondly, you can access almost any outdoor mountain activity by walking. Ski Marble peak, the marble ski area, fish the Crystal river, dine at the Redstone Inn, visit the Marble quarry, view Colorado wild flowers, kayak the crystal river, rock climb, ice climb, hunt for elk, grouse or deer. Take Scofield pass to crested Butte via 4 wd, Ski Aspen, Highlands or Snowmass, Attend Carbondale mountain fair, Listen to the classical music or Jazz at Aspen music festival, Dine at any of the incredible restaurants in Carbondale.Horseback riding is available in Redstone. Also, certain months out of the year a natural, free, public hot springs on the crystal river is available. Secondly, Avalanche hot springs (also 25 min. from the cabin) offers geothermal hot springs for 12.00 for adults. Open from 8 am- 6 pm daily, year round. Beautiful cabin that is literally in the sky
Everything is spectacular about this place. Every room in this house is incredible. Was very happy we chose to stay here and look forward to coiming again soon!
Truly a cabin in the sky
The reason I book this cabin was for the view and it was spectacular. The cabin was clean and well kept. All the linens and cooking essentials was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Anthony is very accommodating and very nice. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you Anthony. I hope to be back.
Larry, my wife and I really enjoyed meeting you, your wife and exceedingly cute dog! Talking with you made us realize the cabin attracts such nice people who appreciate the natural beauty there from the view and mountain setting. You were gracious to leave the cabin in impeccable condition, which we appreciate very much. Hope to talk with you again sometime. Please give a call as I enjoyed chatting. Have a great year. Cheers, Anthony
The best of mountain living
We thoroughly enjoyed this mountain property. We were lucky enough to have the fall leaves at their peak. Even on rainy days the colors were fabulous. The view was great. Living in a solar house for a few days was interesting and educational for all. You just aren't aware of your own behaviors and habits until you are on the spot. We minimalizedwater and electricity usage as much as possible but had a few overcast, rainy days that didn't help much. We used the fire stoves for heat a couple mornings. They kept us toasty warm. Plenty of room for 8 of us. The kids immediately claimed the loft space. The ladder up to the loft made the adults a little nervous initially but of course the kids loved it. Nicely stocked kitchen for cooking our own meals. Plus a grill outside. Delicious BBQ place in the town of Marble. We hiked and went fishing at Beaver Lake. Star gazing from the deck was perfect on clear nights. Definitely would recommend this spot.
Mountain Beauty, Tranquil Valley, Glowing Sunrise, Serene Sunset
Arrived after dark, no problem with Anthony's easy directions. We awoke to the warm sunrise streaming thought windows and a awesome view of the surrounding mountains with the village of Marble and Beaver Lake in the valley below. This is a beautiful place. You can't help but stare at the gorgeous views from the very large windows throughout the house, it's mesmerizing. Have your morning coffee on the deck and watch the hummingbirds buzzing around the feeder. If you seek peace, quiet and beauty, this is the place. Marble, in the valley below is a neat little village. Explore the abandoned marble fabricating site in town, grab some ribs and a cold beer at Slow Groovin BBQ, hike the surrounding mountain trails, bring your fly rod, plenty of trout in the Crystal River that flows through town all the way to Carbondale. Take the jeep tour to the Crystal Mill, quite a ride, don't try it in your vehicle This is a solar house, off the grid, so don't expect a dishwasher or microwave, didn't need them anyway. It has wi-fi which worked well. Didn't even turn on the TV all week but did listen to music on the great sound system that Anthony installed. The well water has a hint of sulfur, it's drinkable but you might want to stock up on bottled water. One bathroom in the main house might be awkward for more that one couple but fine for a couple with kids. The natural beauty of the surroundings, the serenity, the sunrise, sunset and bright stars in the night sky make up for any inconvenience. Our week at the "Cabin in the Sky" ended to soon. Anthony is a very accommodating and caring owner. It's a place you'll want to come back to again.
Wonderful home, beautiful surroundings!
We loved this house! The house was perfect with beautiful views. We have never been in a solar home before and didn't really know what to expect. It was such a wonderful, relaxing home. The town was so quiet and charming. Thank you, Anthony, for allowing us to stay in this home.
Anthony was a gracious host and did a great job in making us feel comfortable and did a good job "prepping" us for the house. We have been coming to Colorado since the early 80's and this cabin by far has the BEST views you could ever hope for. Every window has an incredible view. House was very clean and stocked with everything a person would need. I highly recommend this cabin to everyone. Make sure you bring food, there is only one place to eat in Marble, the Slow Groovin BBQ. Most people are raving about this restaurant, but we were not impressed. I can make better ribs and beans than Slow Groovin!
Fly Fishing, Marble Peak Back Country Skiing, Marble Quarry Tours, Lead King Basin 4WD Tour, Back Packing, frisbee golf, ATV riding, horseback riding, visit the famous and photogenic Crystal Mill, soak in Penny Hot springs, intertube river or snow hills, sled on road visit the marble museum for local history. ALSO, Peoania and Hotchkiss are an easy and beautiful 50 miles where you can enjoy the states breadbasket fruits (Peaches, nectarines, plums, berries, apples, cherries, etc). Also, the veggies are gorgeous! There are some great restaurants/bakeries like the 'flying fork' and some local wineries to sample the local flavor.
