About Kay Williams

Our love of Marble and the area around it goes back to the 1980's when we purchased our first property here. At the time, we believed this was the perfect getaway from our busy Denver lives. We have enjoyed our travels to Europe, South America, Mexico and throughout the U.S., but still appreciate Marble's beautiful and unique setting. Tom's career as an enrollment management consultant has taken him to colleges and universities across the country. Kay enjoyed a career as an elementary teacher. We now call Tucson 'home', but spend summers in Marble working in the gardens, playing with our two small dogs, reading and enjoying the great outdoors. We also enjoy hosting family gatherings at our Marble home.

Kay Williams purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Kay Williams chose Marble

After moving to Denver in the mid-1980's we bought a pop-up camper and set out with our young son to explore Colorado on weekend camping trips. Eventually, we discovered the Crystal River valley and Marble. We sold the camper, built our home and have never regretted it. The Crystal River valley is some of the the most beautiful, pristine country you will ever see. Fly-fishermen love the river. Hikers and horsemen love the trails. The back roads to Crystal City and Lead King Basin are a feast for the senses. Photographers can't get enough of the scenery, wildflowers and wildlife. We love it for the views, fresh air, great water and the occasional bear that wanders through the yard. Marble is special.

What makes this cabin unique

One RV camping spot next to the cabin enables friends, parents or in-laws to share your time in Marble. $20.00 camping fee for 2 people per night. Each additional person over age 12 is $5.00. Check out for RV is also 11:00 am. Electric and water, no dump station.

Perfect! Beautiful,peaceful and relaxing.

Lovely cabin. Very clean and well stocked. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the view was AMAZING!

We wanted a relaxing stay in the mountains, away from the normal tourist traffic, and this was IT!

Make sure to stock up on groceries and adult beverage before arriving. Town is very small

with limited amenities.

We dined at Slow Groovin BBQ twice. We're from Kansas, but this was hands down the best BBQ we have ever tasted. Lovely outdoor seating.

Take the jeep tour! You will have have acces to sites only available via 4 wheel drive, as well as a guided tour.

5 star vacation.

Absolute luxury in the Mountains!!

  • 5 of 5

This amazing retreat was so much nicer than the description or reviews. I had a wonderful time enjoying the deck and view, one doesn't need much more! Yet there is more, the great kitchen provided everything we needed, the bed felt like a cloud I didn't want to leave, we wanted for nothing! Marble offers a great little slice of heaven and the Meek's Hill Cabin was spectacular. We can't wait to return!!

Perfect cabin, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was the highlight of our mini vacation. Pictures do not really do it justice. It was quiet, cozy and very clean. The furnishings were extremely comfortable and every detail had been thought of. We especially enjoyed the extensive selection of local history books (we learned a lot about the area), and relaxing on the deck, while taking in the beautiful view of White House Mountain. Can't wait to stay here again!

Meeks Hill Cabin was a wonderful quiet getaway for the two of us. Tom and Kay are great!

The cabin was very clean and organized and well stocked with dishes/pots pans etc in the kitchen, bedroom was very comfortable, slept better then we have in a long time! Didn't want to leave.

Sitting on the deck and enjoying the fresh air and sounds of nature and feeding the hummingbirds kept us busy and quite entertained (boy do they eat a lot!). We even saw a resident marmot. Views are spectacular. We only left the cabin one time to take a drive up to McClure pass and took in more views then returned right away. We missed the cabin. If relaxing and enjoying peace is in your itinerary then this is a must! We will be back.

Great stay in Marble

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent two wonderful, stress-free weeks at Meeks Hill cabin. Coming from Charleston, SC in July, we enjoyed the cool mountain temperatures. Sleeping with the windows open and coffee on the deck in the cooling mornings were very enjoyable.

Highlights were hiking to Milton Falls and the Jeep tour to the mining town of Crystal. But noting surpasses the beauty

of the mountains in the Valley.

Our hosts, Tom and Kay, were wonderful hosts.

The cabin was perfect. The Slow Groovin BBQ had really good food and an eclectic clientele.

We will be returning.
