MOMENTS FOR SALE

Moments is not your typical vacation resort. Nestled in the hills of Scarborough, Tobago, situated northeast of its twin island Trinidad, this beautifully appointed villa offers you a home away from home on this small lush Caribbean island replete with rainforests, waterfalls and pristine beaches. Tobago is not your usual touristy island. Tourism does not feel imposed on this country; the island is beautifully defined by its unique local life.

Come here to relax, replenish or rejuvenate. Come with your spouse or partner to rekindle a romance. Come to start, finish or edit your book. (contact us ref. writers packages). Moments features two elegant bedroom suites, each with a private master bath and gorgeous ocean views. You will find a fully appointed kitchen with dining sitting areas that open to a semi-circular porch for sitting, reading or just gazing at the vast ocean view. For guests seeking to reserve both bedrooms the rate is $150 per night. Please contact the owner directly for other longer term rates.

Two steps down and you are in the Jacuzzi for a soothing water massage under the sun or the moon or in the pool for an invigorating or relaxing swim. Moments surrounds you in tranquility and natural beauty day and night. Moments is close to many open stretches of beach, however, it is recommended that you plan to rent a car or hire a driver for the length of your stay or for day trips. 'Tranquility'-

Tobago is luxuriantly forested with an abundant water supply and mountainous terrain marked by waterfalls and mountain pools along the courses of its many small rivers. Protecting Tobago's coastline is mile after mile of coral reef harbouring a wide variety of marine life which feeds on the fertile convergence of two seas. The mean annual temperature is 32 degrees C (89 degrees F) with an average rainfall of 200 cm (40 inches). Dry season is from January to May and wet season from June to December. Significantly, Tobago is outside of the hurricane belt.

About K. Brisbane

I have over 30 years of experience in Real Estate and Community Development.

K. Brisbane purchased this villa in 2001

Why K. Brisbane chose Tobago

We chose to build in this location because of the weather and being outside of hurricane belt. The property is on a hillside overlooking the Atlantic ocean with a magnificent view up the island and a wide angle view of the rainforest.

high on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with a view of the northern coast of Trinidad. The trade winds provide natural and constant breezes and the waters surrounding the island as wonderfully clean and refreshing.

What makes this villa unique

It's short walk to beaches, a 5-minute drive to town. It is quiet, private and secure. You can choose to be in the mix of traffic and activity by going 1 mile into town or remain at home, lounging on the decks, swimming in the pool or luxuriating in the Jacuzzi. Owner/representative on property.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear K & Leonard

First and foremost, I feel that I've gained two new friends. Secondly, I have had a wonderfull time here at Moments. You have created a "divine" space. K - Thanks for restoring my water confidence, something I did not know I had lost. Trust me I will be back to Tobago and to Moments. Affectionately, Karen

A "Moment" to reflect

  • 5 of 5

I was a guest at "Moments" twice. First in 2004 and, again in 2006. I'm long overdue for a return trip. I am a frequent traveler to the Caribbean - my roots run deep in two other islands but I can say that, more than any other island I've been to, "Moments" in Tobago made me feel most at home. The physical space created by the builders/owners is magnificent. It does what many tropical villas DON'T do - it embodies the landscape and the climate so that there is a beautiful balance of nature and nurture. The rooms are beautifully appointed: the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable lending themselves appropriate for the romantic or the meditative or both; the bathrooms large and luxurious especially after a day at the beach when sand is in your pores and you long for a cleansing shower to refresh you. The living space blends indoor and outdoor so that you can prepare meals while gazing at the sea; sit inside or out to eat; feel the breeze that wafts through the shuttered and beautiful windows. The infinity pool is an absolute delight. You can swim to infinity and get a workout at the same time or you can tread in place just gazing at the ocean view that lies in front of you. The care and service you receive at "Moments" is unparalleled. Guest are treated like family and your every need is anticipated or provided upon request. I recommend a visit to "Moments" wholeheartedly, that's if I don't beat you to it!

Stunning view with privacy!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is all about the view! Absolutely stunning. . However, this may possibly be changing as the lot just to the west was cleared the week before we arrived which leads one to believe another home is to be built which would likely take the view towards the west. Hopefully the privacy of this home will not be disturbed as this is another GREAT point of this home. The upstairs plumbing is in need of replacement but still usable. The netting over the beds works but I would prefer screen on the windows, but that;s just me. The home and pool were clean. We swam several times daily. Mr. Nelson was extremely nice and came immediately when we called. He also hooked us up with a driver for our stay. Andy, our driver is the very best Ambassador for Tobago!!! He knows all the best places to eat and the best tours. He can answer most any question you have about the area. The walk UP the driveway is a killer but a good work out for the glutes :) The furniture by the pool was not comfortable and there were no loungers that could lay flat for sun-bathng but I would certainly still stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are always interested in the experiences that our guests have and hope to improve our overall performance using their comments as a guide. I understand the concern about the lot being developed next to ours. The owners have informed us that they are building a wall between the properties which should insure the privacy that our guests now enjoy. The view to the west will NOT be lost because the house is intended to sit back on the property allowing guests to see the westward view. Interestingly, in this instance, the property manager related an amusing anecdote about a call he got a short while after the guests arrived. They said the toilet in one of the bathrooms did not flush. He went to the house immediately, only to find out that they did not know how to flush the toilet. He showed them and everyone had a good laugh. In regard to the hill, we have a photo of the property on the website so that folks can see the hill and we include in our description, the fact that the house and villa sit 95 feet above the street level. Since parking is more than 2/3 up the hill, guests are not required to walk up the staircase from the road to the house. We have lounge chairs on the property that are available to guests. I talked with the property manager who informed me that the guests writing this review were lying, not sitting, but lying in the lounge chairs whenever he went to the villa. The other deck chairs, are upright and come with foot rests but these guests were using the lounge chairs which allow you to lie back completely. It is not clear why they made some of these statements, but we are committed to providing a comfortable, fun-filled environment for our guests. We can only hope that our guests will take care in how they describe their experience at the villa and know that we want to correct any misinformation or understanding while they are here.

Gorgeous View

  • 3 of 5

The view from this property is beautiful. Nice and relaxing to sit in the pool on those hot days. Property has most of the items you will need for your stay and property Manager, Gosnel, will help you with anything that you need. Property is a 30 minute walk into town so a car is recommended unless you like to just sit around by the pool and do nothing. Taxi/driver costs can add up over the week. Local cell phone for this property would be recommended for safety reasons.

Owner's Response: There are two beaches, one right next to two hotels with a restaurant on the beach within 2 blocks and the other within 4 blocks of the property which our guests frequent. Both are featured in our guests book at the villa. We have a cell phone for our guests which was not available because of owner oversight. It will be available. We strive to ensure the safety and the comfort of our guests in every way.

little bit of heaven in Tobago

  • 5 of 5

this house was just lovely... carefully situated in a neighborhood with other houses, it seems you're all by yourself in this tropical paradise! The kitchen was functional (you're on vacation, not slaving over a hot stove!! so it's perfect), the bedrooms clean and the view from the pool is just stunning. Had dinner in more often then not because it's the best view on this beautiful island. Marlon was a perfect host and kept things running smoothly.

We rented a jeep which was probably necessary given some of the steep roads on the eastern side of the island, and the driveway!

Another tip - we came in on a late flight, and just made it to the car rental place before it closed at 9pm. If possible, don't fly in too late.

other then that... bring the sunscreen and enjoy! there was always a gentle breeze so my bug spray stayed in my suitcase, untouched.

Love Moments!! we will be back for more!

Amazing time at Moments

  • 5 of 5

We loved Moments in Tobago. The rental was perfect for our family. We loved the comfort level of the house, the proximity to town, yet quiet of the area, and the view doesn't have words. Our kids logged multiple hours daily in your pool. Tobago is an amazing island and we had a wonderful time.

Perfect Holiday House

  • 5 of 5

My stay at Moments was wonderful!

I live in Trinidad so I arrived via a ferry service.

This house is situation ontop a small hill, very secluded but not far away from civilisation at all, it gives you the privacy and get away without wondering about security. Near by restaurants and a 5 mins drive from a grocery.

The pool was clean and a decent size, also a relaxing position to swim and become consumed by the spectacular ocean view.

The villa for rent is next to the main villa that is closed off from visitors, the downstairs has a living room/dining room/kitchen. A perfect size for you and your company to chat and spend time while eatting/cooking. The place was very clean and well taken care of.

Both bedrooms are upstairs, with its own door as the stair case is on the outside. Both bedrooms are opposite from each other with its en suite bathroom. Bedrooms and bathroom were identical.

Despite the lack of a/c, the nights were cool as the rooms had adequate windows to open and allow chilly night breeze in.

There is also an outdoor shower, a very nice add on.

I prepared myself for bugs and mosquitos, both of which was not a problem at all during my stay.

The hill to get to the villa is rather steep with a bend, so I would definitely recommend a big vehicle that would be capable of driving up with ease.

I would also recommend calling the houseman when you arrive for directions to avoid getting lost. The houseman is very helpful, and on call if needed, but also gives you your privacy and only visits on request.

My only complaints would have to be poor wifi service and the kitchen utensils. The pan/pot variety was small and may restrict some meals from being prepared, some appliances were a bit out dated, but myself along with my party made the best of it, so it didnt pose a big problem at all. I will recommend walking with a few major utensils, fry pan, can opener, etc.

All in all I will definitely return, and recommend Moments, it is a perfect holiday house, has just enough space needed, and provides the necessities of a vacation house. Perfect for a get away from the city life, a peaceful view and a very safe feeling. The owner replied to my emails very promptly and was very willing to attend to any questions I had, and interacting with the housman was very enjoyable.

Moments is a great vacation house, I fully enjoyed my stay!

Both the Atlantic and Caribbean beaches on the island have wonderful waves for boogey boarding year round. Guests may borrow boogey boards from Moments.
