This property was just horrific. The refrigerator was filthy, the floors were filthy, the bathtub was filthy, pretty much everything in the house was just filthy. The bedsheets look like they had not been changed. The furniture was not as advertised. And worst of all there was no smoke detector. We did get our money refunded. But this host had no business trying to rent out a property.

We're sorry this stay didn't work out. For future guests, here are the facts: the home was professionally cleaned before arrival. The guests arrived in the evening. The next morning they reported cleaning concerns and a missing smoke detector. We sent our cleaning team over that morning, and the guests let them in, then left for the day. The unit does have a smoke detector, mounted behind a ceiling beam, and we showed Vrbo the detector that same day. Vrbo issued the refund because of the reported missing smoke detector, not because of cleanliness. Despite being refunded early that morning, the guests left their belongings, including a refrigerator full of food, in the home until 6 PM. We take cleanliness and safety seriously and respond quickly whenever a guest raises an issue.
