We arrived in the evening to find a well lit parking area and stairwell leading to the entrance. Keys were there as stated. The unit was clean, neat, and met all our expectations. If in the area again, I would definitely stay there. The property manager worked with us as we only needed one night. The next morning, we sat out on the deck under cover and enjoyed the light rain and wildlife in the back of the property. We had 6 to 8 deer come through and stop to graze, one being a 10 point buck!

We stayed here for a week during 4th of July and I would not recommend this property. There were some dead bugs, cobwebs inside the unit as well as a tub that had not been cleaned. We notified property management there was an issue and while they did send someone out to clean, there were still some things not cleaned up. In addition, when turning on the water for the 1st time, it was a red/brown color which I’m assuming was from the unit being vacant for awhile prior to our arrival. I ended up sending an email to the actual property owners about what we encountered and I never received a response which was frustrating. The property itself has potential but needs landscaping maintained, cleaning and bug issues resolved and updated appliances to compete with other properties in the area. This was our 3rd year staying at a VRBO in Reynolds and we’ve never encountered a property with cleaning issues that were left unresolved or had a time where we communicated issues that yielded no response.

Wonderful at Reynolds

Love to stay here every time. Location is very peaceful, quiet, and private. The space is huge, bed extremely comfortable, great bathroom. Also, full kitchen with everything you could need. Also, nice to have a half bath as well. It’s always clean as well and owners are very responsive

Peaceful and Clean

The apartment over the garage was tucked about 2.5 miles into Reynolds. It was very quiet and dark at night which made for good sleeping! The place was very clean, the bed was comfortable with nice sheets, and the towels were all clean. The owner and property manager was VERY good and quick about answering any questions we had and working with us on the stay. It was a great quick get away to the lake and fairly close to restaurants and marinas. Thanks for a great stay.

Overall okay stay

Overall, the place was clean and a roof over our heads. There was some hiccups in our trip regarding our stay. The place we had reservations with was not the actual place that we stayed in. This was not relayed to us until we got to the actual home waiting for the code to get in the door, which was very confusing to find the place we were staying in since there is no signs to direct you. Communication was very poor between the listed host on Vrbo and the actual property manager. I had spoken with the host earlier in the week and got approved for an early checkin at 11am, when we arrived at the neighborhood gate the security guard called the property manager and said we cannot check-in until 3pm. When we finally were able to physically get into the place, there was no paperwork or welcome binder that told you the WiFi password, which was frustrating because there was no cell service while in the Vrbo home. There were no instructions on check-out or specifically that the hot water switch had to be turned on which is located in the bedroom closet. There was no towel hooks in the bathroom and the place had a musty smell.

Visiting the community

This is a very large 1 bedroom. Plenty of room for my sister and I. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with a glass of wine watching the sun go down. Saw several deer close by in a grassy field. Easy process in a gated community. Responsive host. We did not get enough time to explore so will want to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed the inside of the property and find no fault !! The outside, however, was so dirty as we came up the steps that it spoiled our first impression. It seemed like the deck had not been swept in months. We didn't use the deck at all because of this. Perhaps your cleaning crew could routinely sweep that off also.

Not what was expected

The property is located in an upper scale area (Reynolds) in Lake Oconee. All homes in the area are located inside a gated community that has 24 security guards at the gates. The guest apartment we rented is spacious and the deck area at the entrance to the apartment looks out over a beautiful wooded area and is quiet and relaxing. We checked in on Thanksgiving day and contacted the owner to request to check in early so we could drop off our bags before visiting family. The owner was gracious enough to allow us to check in several hours early, which we greatly appreciated. That being said when offering a home, in an upper scale area cleanliness and other factors need to be on point. I have several complaints about the property. The deck on the outside was covered with leaves and the chair cushions were filthy. Granted, it is fall and trees are losing their leaves, but it was obvious the deck had not been swept or cleaned for some time. It would have been nice to sit outside on the deck and have a cup of coffee but it was too dirty. Upon entering the apartment the entry light in the foyer was filled with dead bugs. The trash can in the kitchen had debris in the bottom and was filthy. A liner had not been placed in the can, however under the sink liners were available. The spray nozzle on the kitchen sink was broken No towels were provided in the guest bathroom for drying your hands and there was no soap by the kitchen sink to wash your hands prior to preparing meals. Also, the coffee cups were mismatched, which isn't a big deal but it would be easy to get matching coffee mugs from the dollar general for very little cost. Also cups advertising a Hospice center should not be part of the dishware. In hospitality sheets and towels should be white so that they can be bleached and sanitized between guests. One of the sinks in the guest bathroom is so stained that it looks dirty and the waste basket in the main bath was dirty and had no liner. Please invest in some descent toliet paper. I felt like I was using sandpaper! This could easily be a 5 star establishment with a little extra attention to detail.

Lake Oconee cottage

Nice place but it’s not on the water or the golf course. Call the property manager before you arrive to ensure the owner remembered to tell the security guards that you’re staying. Overall good value.

Cottage near the lake

Cute 1 bdrm cottage with lovely view of the woods and deer. The interior was very cute and comfortable. The property needed cleaning -we found several bugs, spiders and webs all over. The pull out couch mattress was dirty and therefore was not used. But, an overall pleasant stay.

Cute Cottage

The place was clean and very comfortable. The only problem I found was the pull out couch beds were not clean. We wanted pool & playground access but Overall we enjoyed out stay!

Perfect for 2

The property was just what we needed. Clean, neat, quiet area of Reynolds. When we were trying to figure out Wifi we had a small problem.. but we were able to take care of it ourselves. I did leave a message for the property manager, but never received a call or text. Also property manager doesn’t work on weekends… which is not helpful if one’s stay is over the weekend. I would certainly recommend this property!

Short Get-away

My husband and I needed a little break from the day to day. We booked this cottage for a couple of nights and really enjoyed out time at Lake Oconee. The cottage was fantastic, it offered us a relaxing place to unwind with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee while the deer played outside.

Pictures were nice but place needs better cleaning and management

No heat on check in after working all day ...it was 52 degrees, mgmt said the heat was working but then dropped two space heaters after midnight- one never did work! No soap for bathing or washing toilet paper was out 1st night - no linens for sleeper sofa, which we couldn’t use anyway as onelooked like a crime scene upon opening and the second sleeper sofa was broken.... other smaller details overlooked hair in tub counters sandy or dirty all in all we were not well satisfied

Play golf a several local courses.(GREENS & CART FEES REQUIRED). Go fishing in many of the fish ponds or in 20,000acre Lake Oconee. Watch a movie at the nearby theater. Relax on the porch overlooking the 4 acre wooded lot and watch the deer walk by. Much, Much more!!!!
