About Kimberly Faulkner
We want your stay to be as comfortable and easy as possible. We don't want you to have to spend hours of research trying to figure out where to go eat, shop, rent boats or any other activities you wish to do. So we have done it for you. We mapped out and described over 55 sites including addresses, hours of operation and phone numbers. Everything listed is 15 miles or less with the exception of 7 which are all less than 20 miles. With the vast majority of them being less than 10 miles. There are activities listed most people don't even know about. Please take time to review our map. If you look under the Dollar Store icon there is 'view guide' in blue. Click on this and you will see all 55 items on the location map along with full descriptions. Although these are far from the only things to do at Grand Lake, they are some of our favorites.
Kimberly Faulkner purchased this House in 2005
Why Kimberly Faulkner chose Afton
This home is located on the shores of beautiful Grand Lake O'the Cherokees, situated in the foothills of the Ozarks. This area is blessed with natural beauty. As soon as I walk in the front door all my stresses are forgotten and a feeling of peace takes hold of me.
What makes this House unique
Location, Location, Location. This home sits 5 miles from Interstate 44, 3 miles from Historic Route Highway 66, 4 miles from Highway 59 and 4 miles from highway 85 keeping your driving times at a minimum. This unique location sits right in the middle of every thing to do and every where to go. As you can see from the detailed map below. If you are looking for breath taking views, ours has the best bar none. The home sits on an acreage with beautiful tall pine trees and gives you a lot of privacy and tranquility. It is one of the few coves left on the lake that still feels private, pristine and yet is large enough and deep enough to do all your boating activities.

We loved this home, it suited our family needs wonderfully. The trip to the dock is hard with little kids and older family members, though. The propane tank was empty when we went to grill so we had to fill it, which was graciously refunded. We had a very peaceful week. We would have loved to go walking more, but there was a pretty aggressive loose dog living near the intersection that attempted to charge us while we walked past
This was a great place for our family to get together! Comfortable, clean, roomy. It is a bit of a steep walk up/down the stairs to the wonderful dock. So wonderful to have a dock for our watercraft, fishing, swimming. (It was missing one of the jet ski platforms advertised that we were counting on-but we made due.) We look forward to coming back!!!
Beautiful Views and Restful Stay
My family and I really enjoyed the home. Very clean and well appointed. Plenty of room for larger group than the 3 of us since there are 3 private bedrooms. Gives a very nice feeling of seclusion and safety. The lake views are expansive and impressive. The 76 steep steps to and from the boat dock and lake would not be advisable for everyone but were actually great exercise for us. Grove is 15-20 minutes away and had everything we needed. Very quiet and restful weekend.
Great, very nice for our family.
Everything was super nice and clean. Also, very homey and comfortable. There were eleven of us, so we did have to buy more toilet paper and ran out of trash bags and hand soap in the kitchen. The two air mattresses didn't hold air, but we made things work with the kids. We had 4 children 8 through 2 years old on the trip. There is a section of the railing that is missing in the middle section of the rail going down to the dock that we were not aware of, and the fall is steep and a little scary for the littler ones with nothing to stop them. Other than this, the dock and swimming was wonderful, also fishing off the dock. We caught several catfish. The kitchen is set up well for all cooking and eating. It was awesome to have all the videos, games, and tvs in each room. Mattresses were super comfortable and nice. The washer and dryer were awesome for towels. The fire pit was great for making smores and hanging out together. It was very quiet and private, which was wonderful. Decor super cute. The open layout was perfect for family time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and stay.
Thank you for letting us know about the hand rail. We immediately repaired the lower rail in that section.
A Vacation My Grandkids Will Remember Forever!
What a charming place! The water was so calm in the cove - just perfect for my little first-time tubers and jet skiers! Although they didn't catch any fish, they didn't make a sound as they concentrated on watching their bobbers. We took a family photo with the beautiful lake in the background and with the lovely trees out front as a back drop. It will hang on my wall as a remembrance of our wonderful vacation at Faulkner's Landing....
Clean! Looked as advertised. Garbage disposal didn’t work. AC was great. Killed a scorpion.
Loved the location! Clean! Lots of room. Wish the price had not doubled for the holiday. Would definitely recommend to others! We had a great time! Family reunion only 3 miles away at my Dad’s farm. AC was great! WiFi signal not so good. Boat dock was great fun.
