Overview

About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms + 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-5)

Location! location! On the side entry road for easy access and parking. On the community pool for fun and sun. Around the corner from the Inn for amenties such as two pools, two restaurants, beach access and a gym. Half a block to the local store for last minute groceries. Two minute walk to the community center and security office (open 24/7). Three minute walk to the golf course.

Our Casa is wonderful and welcoming, casual and comfortable, authentic and affordable. Just to describe it a bit – enter into the indoor patio with garden and fountain - from there you open French doors into the living area with two leather couches, an entertainment center, dining for six and a fully equipped kitchen - this opens to the outdoor patio with fountain, garden and a seating area for outdoor relaxing or eating – from there you walk out to the community pool/Jacuzzi – also, on the first floor is a bedroom with a queen bed and TV, and separate bathroom with its own step in shower - going back to the entry you go up the stairs to the very private second floor - this roof top terrace has a covered pergola with a barbeque and eating area – the French doors open into the master bedroom with a king bed, TV and bathroom with a large soaking tub, Mexican tiled dual sink vanity and step in shower – the spiral staircase leads to the viewing tower with a view of the Sea of Cortes and the Sierra de La Gigante Mountains range.

Loreto, Mexico, is a quaint historic fishing community on the eastern coast of Baja California Sur, along three miles of pristine Baja beach front. Loreto Bay, five miles south of town and three miles from the airport, is home to hundreds of species of tropical sea life, with several species of whale. Jacques Cousteau referred to it as the aquarium of the world.

Activities are endless – take a short Ponga boat ride to visit the Isle Coronado, with it's pristine water, and white sandy beaches or Isle Carmen, known for it's abundant sea life – go sport fishing with one of the locals for Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Dorado, and Yellow-Fin – during spawning season you may see the whales – if fishing is not your thing, then you can always snorkel, kayak, or enjoy shelling – golf on the championship course or play a little tennis – visit town with its cobbled streets, historic Mission, funky shops and great affordable dining - or my favorite, enjoy a walk through the charming neighborhoods where each villa and garden is unique.

About The Owner

We live on the central coast of California. We hope to retire soon and plan on living in Loreto 1/2 the year where we will get involved with the community.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2005

Why The Owner chose Baja California Sur

Loreto is a short affordable flight from LAX and a long one day drive from San Diego. It is a safe and very friendly community. There is great weather year round with never ending activities being surrounded by the dessert, the ocean and the mountains. We go with our 80 year old mother and our adult sons and their children and there is something for everyone.

What makes this villa unique

A day in the life in Loreto - have our tea/coffee sitting on the upstairs patio watching the community waking up and the sun fully rise over the ocean - a casual walk through the neighborhood admiring the unique succulents and gardens - end up at the beach for a walk and a little shelling - back to the casa for a swim in the community pool outside our backdoor - off to the Inn across the street for a beer and fish taco while we watch the locals haul in their catch of the day - back to the casa for a short nap or read - the afternoon is left for either a run around the golf course or snorkeling around the point to end up diving for golf balls in the lagoon - in the evening we either go into town for a mango daiquiri on the malecon, a stroll through town, some great mexican food ususally including the fish in season and topping it off at the local ice creamery - if we stay home it's still a mango daiquiri but we are sitting up in the viewing tower watching the shadows fall on the mountains as the community rests.

My 11 year old son and i spent three days in this gorgeous community, and had a wonderful relaxing time. The neighborhood is friendly and very quiet, and the pool right in your back yard as you walk out the back gate is amazing, and where we spent most of our time. This community is around 9 km away from the main city of Loreto, however, do if you're wanting to do sight seeing, or even if you want to get some regular groceries you'll need a vehicle of some sort, or you'll be paying 300 pesos each way to get to town. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, perfect for two couples traveling together with one large bedroom and bathroom downstairs and one master suite upstairs. At the little suite down the street they have maps of the local area they will give you so you can see what's around. One word of caution though, here they advertise a hot tub, and while there is a hot tub shaped pool next to the community pool, it is not heated, so if you are going in the winter months, swimming in the pool may be a rather chilly experience. We were there at the end of April though, and the weather was absolutely perfect.

We had such a great time here! The house is beautiful and just out the back door is the community pool which we enjoyed every single day we were here. The house is gorgeous and completely supplied with anything we could possibly need. The beach and resort are less than 5 minutes walk away from the home. All the people we met while we were here were so nice and I honestly can`t wait to come back! Such a nice relaxing place to vacation and it was wonderful dealing with the owner of the house directly. So accomodating and easy to work with. This was our first time renting a home for vacation and it was such a wonderful experience. I can`t imagine vacationing any other way.
