It's a beautiful location and the house has everything you need. It's a short walk to the fun Mango bar nearby. We enjoyed taking the bikes for a ride. For groceries and dinner, it was a very short drive into town. Jenette was really helpful and answered questions and made recommendations for tours and activities. loved the colorful festive Mayan-themed decoration.

Excellent place to stay in Hopkins. Fits 6 people. Great amenities: kitchen is fully stocked, bikes, SUP, snorkelling gear. We were not quite sure, but the ocean floor is sand and quite shallow near the house. We just wish weather would cooperate a bit better.

We really enjoyed our stay in Hopkins. The villa was great to go back to after an active day. The porch room facing the ocean was wonderful for hanging out, drinking coffee and cocktails and working on puzzles. The kitchen was well stocked. Having the bikes, kayaks and paddle boards was such a bonus. We used them everyday. The ocean was calm most days and shallow enough to walk out quite a distance. (If you need transport services, we used a local family run business that was clean and professional. MNA Taxi Service, Manuel Cal, on Facebook.)

We had a wonderful view of the sunrise and sunset and the water was perfect. The kitchen was stocked well. The showers were nice and we enjoyed our stay. It was like being at home. Perfect location for our adventures

We loved staying here for our family vacations. It’s right on the water and the ocean is warm and shallow, perfect for the kids to swim and play. It’s a close location to explore the jungle and take a boat out to the Cayes. We cooked several meals at home and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed a few restaurants at the resorts nearby and in the Hopkins Village.

The house was clean and well-stocked to cook. Beds were comfy and the AC worked when power wasn’t out. House manager Jeanette was so awesome — communicative, friendly, helpful. She also rents golf carts to 18 and our teens loved zipping around Hopkins and having some freedom. The seaweed was pretty bad at our house but plenty of docks a couple houses away to access the ocean.

Christmas Break Bliss

The Belizean Bliss was absolutely a wonderful find. The property is right on the ocean, close to the village of Hopkins, it had great amenities in the kitchen we made a lot of meals here and enjoyed the view., beds were super comfortable and the sunroom/covered porch space was sooooo nice. Great house in a great town

We loved staying at Belizean Bliss and in Hopkins. Hopkins has so much great food and nice people (much nicer than the people we met in Hawaii last year). The house was super clean with a nice entry room/porch and many windows overlooking the sea.Many of the knick-knacks, throws, and paintings in the house are also available at the big gift store in town, which was a great local touch.If we changed one thing about our trip it would have been to drive ourselves less, rent a golf cart to go to town, and have local drivers to drive us to farther destinations - the roads really are chaotic with varying speeds, horses, kids, speed ramps, etc.

Belizean Bliss was absolutely amazing! The villa was gorgeous, directly on the sea and was completely furnished with wonderfully beautiful pictures and furnishings. Cooking utensils were plentiful and it had an amazing Electric French Press, which I’d never seen before (going to buy one as soon as I get home!) We went snorkeling several times directly from the property (you can actually walk about 600 ft from the shore) and viewed beautiful fish, a ray and a perfectly unspoiled marine environment. Excursions were terrific. I’d recommend “Get to know Belize Adventures”. We also solo hiked both Cockscomb and Bocawina reserves (AMAZING). For meals, we went to Thongs (best fry jacks EVER), Ella’s (try their Hudut!), Chef Rob’s (twice!). Food is a must try anywhere in Hopkins. This was our 2nd time in Belize. Last time we spent 5 days in San Ignacio and 5 days on Ambergris Caye. I’ve NEVER had a bad day in Belize!However, be prepared for a LOT of rain if you go early in December. It rained every day we were there, but usually only for 1-3 hours, so be ready to adjust your schedules. Also, DEET! Bring at least 25% DEET. Little biting insects were a bear at first until the neighbors told me to use higher concentration DEET. Otherwise, this villa and location were tremendous and I would heartily recommend to ANYONE!

Much better than even the pictures. What a bargain!

We went during the rainy season and took a chance. The views are spectacular. The house is epic. A bit of seaweed which is everywhere in the Caribbean. The steps into the ocean were great and we just walked right into the ocean everyday. Rainy days we explored the temples and sunny days we went diving and island hopping. Property Manager, Janette, Alex and the owner went way beyond for everything we needed. Seriously, we're staying for a month next time.

Belizean Bliss Villa

Very nice house. Water was pretty shallow off shore, nice for getting cooled off. Had a couple of problems, toilet im master was clogged when we got there, but was taken care of pretty quickly. Frig decided to quit working midway thru stay, but was replace as soon as was possible since it was between xmas and new year. It was not a major problem for us except not being able to keep our beer cold. A couple of coolers and a few bags of ice got us thru.

Vibrant and Lush Belizean Vibes

An absolute dream! The breeze from the ocean under the full moon was so peaceful, I could stare at it for hours. I also did yoga on the porch to watch the sunrise in the morning which was the perfect way to start a day of jungle adventures. Yeah, that's Belize to me. The entire place has beautiful unique local art capturing the wildlife. It was so romantic for us to have dinners watching the ocean. They went over and beyond for us to help with planning excursions and finding what we needed locally from the store and markets. There are very helpful QR codes for instructions on all the appliances and electronics. I've never seen that before and it very much appreciated. All-in-all such a great place and a friendly host who truly cares about your time here. I will be back very soon :)

Awesome Home

This home was amazing! Everything you need is provided! My only disappointment was with the weather, air, and ocean conditions. Fires burning in Mexico and Belize are causing smoky air pollution and limited visability. The sargassum is thick all along the coast of Belize. There was no getting in the ocean without a boat to take you out past the sargassum. The host graciously hired someone to rake the sargassum, but the next day it was 2 feet thick again. It was HOT and HUMID and STINKY!!! Most restaurants and shops in Hopkins are not air-conditioned. Luckily, we had this beautiful air-conditioned home to retreat to after trying to venture out!

Sunrises Galore!

If a person enjoys beautiful sunrises this is the place to be. If you are looking for a home away from home Kathy’s home has everything you need. This is a very well equipped home with all of he kitchen appliances you need including food processor, microwave, juicer, coffee makers and bbq. Although the home is air conditioned, we found that with the continual warm breeze off the sea it was rarely used. The ocean was very nice to swim in but one has to walk out a few hundred feet before the water gets deep enough to swim in. The shallowness is great for children though. One problem was the very rough road to get to the village for shopping. Whenever we had to head into Hopkins village (10 minutes away) one had to be patient with all the potholes. Janette, the property manager was always very responsive to any issues we had (which were few). Also, the neighbours who own the adjacent property, were friendly although we tried to respect their privacy. We would definitely stay at Kathy’s again if we return to Hopkins.

Perfect family beach getaway

Our oldest had one bedroom and we had the other. We were so grateful for the pack-n-play for our youngest. The kitchen had everything we needed. The high chair really came in handy. The enclosed porch had the most wonderful view of the ocean and we enjoyed the bright sunrise. The kids played in the sand while we lounged next to them. We were given the hint to rub coconut oil on us to prevent bug bites, which worked. We did not see any mosquitos. The stairs provided easy access to the water. The water was very warm, like a bath, and shallow, gradually becoming deeper. There was some sea grass the first few feet (not as annoying as the Pacific kelp) and then crystal clear water so we could see the fish and sea life. We have fallen in love with Belize and this place! We will be back!

I fell in love with Belize since it was what I wanted Mexico to be. Right on the Caribbean with bath water temperatures, the epic diving on the Barrier Reef, the Best Fishing, Island Hoping and Mayan Temples I could walk around without restrictions. Everything is so raw, never a dull moment and the hundreds of beautiful birds with ocean view sun rises are the best alarm clock.

For me it was everything I ever wanted and a direct inexpensive flight from Seattle was the cherry on top. When I am not there, I love sharing this with others and knowing that it is making someone so happy to enjoy this wonder of Mother Earth fill my heart. I am always adding more of what I feel you would want and it is such a joy to share all of the treasures I have accumulated with others. I am so very blessed.


Why they chose this property

The location of this Villa is perfect! On one side is a jungle lot filled with birds, iguanas and agoutis, fabulous neighbors on the other side. A huge beach with steps down into the Caribbean Ocean which starts out as ankle high. Then you can comfortably move in and out of the depth you prefer. So it is great for kids.

It is in a great neighborhood with residents who are mostly expats that care about their properties. Right up the road are the resorts where you can enjoy their food, happy hours and festivities. It is easy to walk, bike, golf cart or drive to the main Village for more food, groceries and everything else you need.

It is a perfect central distance to access the entire country. You are not on a far peninsula or island like Placentia, Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker. You can access everything sea, temple, cave, river and jungle. There are so many inexpensive options for guided tours, rental vehicles and private transport to everything you desire to expperience and explore.

Most of all are the PEOPLE! The people are so genuine, not pushy, fun, mellow, helpful and caring. It holds a special place in my heart and I hope it will do the same for you too!

What makes this property unique

You get an entire Villa with a private beach for such a reasonable price! Every inch is an architectural and artistic feast for the eyes. Romatic to family friendly - it has every amenity because I live there a few months out of the year and make sure it is great for you!
