Explore this Bahamas Out Island from our brand new home just completed in Spring, 2011. You will find plenty of room to enjoy your stay in Bonefish Cottage’s 1,900+ sq.ft. with its bright, cheerful, airy Caribbean atmosphere. Built by one of the leading local contractors, the island-style cottage will surround you with high quality workmanship decorated with all new wicker furniture and tropical-motif upholstery throughout. The two bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with twin beds) and two baths are separated by a great room that includes a fully equipped kitchen, sitting area with flat screen TV, dining area with glass-top table and chairs, and a pantry with ample storage space and stacked washer/dryer for your use. But perhaps your favorite part of the house will be the over-sized front porch with its own wicker-furnished sitting and dining areas where you can begin your day outdoors with your morning coffee and end it gazing at the stars with your favorite rum beverage.
Bonefish Cottage is located on appropriately-named Panorama Road with views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean. Large sliding glass doors on both the ocean- and sea-facing-sides of the house let you enjoy the views and the breeze from our ridge-top location. To compliment the sea breeze, you will find ceiling fans throughout the house and air conditioning in the bedrooms.
Only 15 minutes north of Governors Harbour Airport, Bonefish Cottage is in a prefect location from which to explore Eleuthera. An Atlantic and a Caribbean beach are both within walking distance and a short drive will get you to more pink-sand beaches, prime snorkeling, productive bonefish flats, and what many consider the best surfing in the Caribbean. Restaurants and basic groceries are minutes away.
We originally came to Eleuthera for the bonefishing. We will be glad to provide information on guides, tackle and places to go if you are interested. Now we come to stroll on the island’s countless beaches, collect shells and sea glass delivered by the waves (Bonefish Cottage’s library includes several reference books on both for your use along with “Elusive Beaches of Eleuthera” to get you headed in the right direction), snorkel in the gin-clear water (basic gear provided), explore the back roads to discover yet another beach or cliff-top vista, dine on the unique local restaurant cuisine or cook up a feast back home in your kitchen (lobster, stone crab, conch and grouper are a few of our favorites you can purchase right off the fisherman’s boat), learn about the island’s fascinating natural history and visit with some of the most friendly people you will find anywhere in the world. We have not tried the surfing yet but Surfer Pete in Gregory Town can fill you in on the surf breaks and provide rental equipment. Do all this and whatever other island activities you wish to experience from the comfort and convenience of Bonefish Cottage. But be warned – you cannot do it all on your first visit. We will look forward to welcoming you back to Eleuthera and Bonefish Cottage!

Recently retired from publishing a weekly family owned newspaper and education we are spending as much time as possible enjoying Eleuthera. Look forward to making our home available for others to enjoy when we are not there.
Shirley Pool purchased this house in 2011
Visited the island numerous times before building and stayed in Rainbow Bay each time because of it's location. Other parts of the island can be reached conveniently our cottage.
Bonefish Cottage offers views of both the Caribbean and Atlantic. Beaches on both shores within walking distance. Many pleasant walking options in the neighborhood with great views.
Home is decorated with a tropical theme that our guest will enjoy.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bonefish Cottage. It was perfect for long morning walks along the Atlantic Ocean, close to many beaches and the accommodations were perfect. The covered veranda was perfect for the rainy days we had - we could still sit outside and enjoy the tropical air (and not the raindrops). The kitchen was well equipped and the house was clean.
The bonefish cottage is the perfect place to stay in Eleuthera. The location is excellent and from here you can explore North and South Eleuthera. Everything you need (and some things you did not know you needed) is there. From beach chairs, to snorkel equipment, salt, pepper and even olive oil. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in and enjoy dinner on the beautiful porch. Everything is very clean. Freddie, the caretaker, is a very kind and always avaliable for anything you might need. Having a local pre paid cellphone was great because my Verizon phone did not have service. I will be staying at the Bonefish cottage during my next stay in Eleuthera. The pictures do not do the house justice, it is beautiful!
Bonefish cottage is perfect in every way. The location is great, the house is very clean and comes equipped with everything you need for a great vacation in Eleuthera. Shirley and John have a wonderful binder full of useful information, dining, shopping, beaches, fishing. My husband is an avid bone fisherman and all the information left for him from John made the trip. We will certainly be staying there again on our next trip to Eleuthera. Freddie, the caretaker was always available for any questions, very kind and nice. The perfect place to stay in Eleuthera!
Bonefish Cottage is impeccably clean and so affordable. The location is perfect. The huge front porch is a jewel in the crown of this spot. The island of Eleuthera is perfectly underdeveloped and nearby businesses and restaurants are full of local flavor. Snorkel gear was used daily on a variety of dives, including a Drift Dive in the town of Current. The caretaker, Freddie, is attentive to every need in a timely manner. The lack of WiFi didn't bother us as there are places nearby (i.e. Rainbow Inn) that offer free access. We didn't miss it!
We stayed at the bonefish cottage for the week of the new year 2015 We had the best time! The house is so relaxing and filled with everything we needed, including coolers and beach chairs. We rented with another couple and had plenty room. The enormouse patio was perfect to invite other friends that were also on the island. We received a packet of information from Shirley and John that had a lot of information about the island and some places to shop, beach and good restaurants. We are planning to revist soon
Had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage. Everything you need is there - it was so great to have access to comfortable beach chairs, cooler bags, and the snorkelling gear was such an excellent bonus! Rainbow Bay beach is so close (2 minute drive) and is so beautiful - although we had a car, we spent most of our time there! We really enjoyed the deck, even at night it was perfect, as we would watch the amazing starry sky. Eating nearby was easy to get to and delicious and East and Final's little grocery spot nearby was perfect for food staples. Would definitely come back to this relaxing, beautiful, and very affordable cottage again!
Beautiful pink sand beaches within walking distance.
