About Cindy Barnard

After many fun years in the health care industry (research pharmacist , pharmaceutical sales and marketing) , I moved from Colorado to enjoy my family ties in Oregon --where my grandfather homesteaded. I live full time in Ashland, Oregon. I enjoy travel, walking cooking,, gardening, bridge, theater, good friends and my doggy, Honey.

Cindy Barnard purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Cindy Barnard chose Waldport

I loved to join my cousin in her home here at Seal Rock after moving to Oregon. When her happy, long stay (23+ years) in this home ended, I purchased the cottage to enjoy with friends. I have had fun renovating and invigorating the home to share as a rental with others in this special spot. I hope you enjoy your time here. It is a fascinating area.

What makes this cottage unique

Walking with my grandsons, friends and my lab on this beach is wonderful--no matter what the weather! I can watch them play and run for miles and know that this area of the Oregon coast is especially safe and friendly for my loved ones. Good coffee, family, friends and doggy-- beautiful sunsets. Wow! I am blessed!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a good place to just do what you want! Took some drives, shopped a little. Did a crazy Passover took us two days. Read watch movies eight and eight. Took our little dog to the beach. He ate a lot of sand but he ran and ran – 12 years old. Love the house and all the wicker! The yard and blooms are so nice! Love the time here!

Cozy and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My Cousin's Cottage and host Cindy were wonderful. I had a difficult decision to make prior to my arrival pertaining to a once-in-a-lifetime-event and Cindy was helpful to accommodate my concerns. I ended with a memory I will treasure the rest of my life! Thank you Cindy and for sharing your lovely home for my family.

Perfectly clean and cozy spot near the beach! Charming.

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this quaint, cozy home! It was a short stay (just one night to be exact), but it was charming. The decor and artwork make this place feel peaceful and homey. We were able to access the beach easily, walking about a block up the street to the path mentioned. The beach is breathtaking and very private.

Cindy was amazing to work with. She was helpful in making recommendations regarding places to bring our girls in the surrounding areas as our vacation was nearing. I am thankful we booked this VRBO as a place to stay during our drive up the Oregon Coast. I appreciated having a nice washer and drier to do our laundry mid-way.

Thank you, Cindy, for providing us with such a delightful place to stay. We took you up on your recommendation to enjoy a cup of coffee at the Green Salmon. The Mexican coffee drink that I ordered may go down as my favorite cup of coffee of all time.

Thank you kindly,

Tami

We had a great time at the coast except for the constant rain.

  • 3 of 5

This property was well taken care of. Beds we're small for two people. Didn't seem like they were queen, more like double.

The TV's are outdated and there is no internet as advertised. Large TV was in the bedroom and tiny one in the dinning room area. Not a great selection of videos and DVDs.

Overall it was worth the money but I think next time we will go with something a little more luxurious even if it's more money.

Great people to work with though.

Great, comfy & clean

  • 5 of 5

It is everything as described! The cottage is comfortable and clean. There is no Wi-Fi and no tv in the living room, just an old tube tv in the master bedroom and a small one in the dining area.. and some VHS movies! But that is in the description.

It was everything we were looking for. Cindy was fantastic!

Cozy place to stay with wonderful beach nearby

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this little cottage. There was plenty of room for us. It was so nice to come back after a day of exploring and have a place to relax and make a meal. The best part of this cottage is the very private beach just down the road. We saw wonderful sunsets and it was easy walking. Saw very few people on the beach. One of the downsides to the cottage is the musty smell, especially when you first enter the place. Also, we did not mind not having TV, but it would have been nice if the TV and DVD player could have been in the living room instead of in one of the bedrooms. All in all, it is a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Cindy!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback-- the dampness at the coast is a challenge and the dehumidifier can usually handle it. I'll have it checked out. Glad you had a great time! Cindy
