The Fisherman's Cottage, located 35 minutes south of Savannah, Georgia in Historic Sunbury Georgia, offers comfortable and affordable accommodations directly on DEEP WATER that serves as the the gateway to the best kept secret on the East Coast – the unspoiled Georgia Barrier Islands. These protected islands and waterways offer pristine beaches and a reef ecosystem that attracts incredible fishing. Bring your boat, easily back it into the river at the public boat ramp within walking distance of the cottage and dock it at our own private deep water dock. We can also arrange for a charter boat for a day of inshore fishing or a leisure trip exploring the undisturbed beaches and wildlife of the barrier islands.

Drive, walk or take the boat to the nearby Sunbury Crab Company Restaurant for fresh local seafood and incredible views of the river from this open air restaurant.

Fisherman's Delight!

Great Anniversary getaway for people who LOVE to Fish and have a boat to dock. Beautiful Sunrise and Sunsets on the screened porch overlooking the River. Crabs and Fish for dinner an absolute dream!

Fisherman’s Paradise

The Fisherman’s Cottage did not disappoint. Great location, quaint cottage that was very relaxing. The morning sunrise views were incredible. The private dock was a nice feature. Can’t wait till we visit again. Our host was very helpful and made our experience easy.

What a fun relaxing time

House was so nice and cozy, and the view of the river rigjt from the living room to die for. I caught over 3 dozens of crabs, and alot of fish, black bass, flounder, croaker, and small grouper, had a fish fry, we will definitely be back again soon

Perfect weekend getaway

Fisherman’s Cottage was the perfect weekend retreat! Quiet, cozy, and right on the water. We couldn’t have asked for a better combination. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed crabbing from the dock! I highly recommend staying here. Hopefully we will be able to return.

A tranquil and beautiful escape

This is an obviously well-maintained and very tastefully decorated cottage in a gorgeous, historic waterfront area, just 40 minutes south of Savannah. Surrounded by hypnotic Spanish moss, live oak, magnolia, palm, and tides from the sea. The private dock and screened porch were amazing and the sunrise over the Medway sublime. Would love to stay again!

We love the cottage! This was our 4th visit. Being able to have the boat docked out front all week is a huge plus. The screened porch is heaven and where we spent a great deal of time. The area is very peaceful and quiet. Overall one of our favorite getaways!

Christmas at the cottage

We enjoyed our week at Fisherman's Cottage despite the unusually cold weather. The cottage was warm and cozy and tastefully decorated including a Christmas tree with a nautical theme. Watching the spectacular sunrises was a real treat! We also loved seeing the dolphins swimming in front of the dock. The location is perfect for a quiet and restful vacation.

A sweet little slice of paradise

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the owner. What a great spot to unwind for a few days. We came down to tour SCAD with our daughter, and my brother joined us to do some fishing which was amazing. We caught sea bass, hogfish, toadfish, flounder, spots, croakers, mullet, black drum, bluefish, sea trout, speckled trout, rays and a couple of sharks! We had three adults, a teenager and a toddler and did not feel crowded at all. Our 16 year old camped out on the screen porch hammock all week and could not have been happier. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the grill was in great shape. I already miss the view. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you to the great host who was very responsive and helpful. No complaints!

Lacked Hospitality

This was our second time staying at this property. First time was in March 2018. Being a native of Savannah, I knew exactly what to expect as far as the weather, sand, gnats/mosquitos, etc., but we did not feel as welcomed as we did the first time. I mentioned to the host we were visiting my sister and her husband and was immediately asked or it was somehow implied we would be housing more than just ourselves and the house only allows 6 people, but since we did not list more than 2 occupants we could not have more than 2 occupants there. I am not sure the nature behind this, but my husband and I are in our 50's and not throwing any house parties these days. We left a day early due to a conflict back home. We followed the closing instructions and vacated. I realized when I got home that I had left my work computer battery plugged into the wall so I emailed the host and asked if there would be any way to send it to me and I would be happy to pay any costs associated. The host responded a day or two later and said okay. I never received the battery or any communication to say they would not be sending it or if they sent it at all. Overall, the stay was nice and we enjoyed the location very much, but don't expect that warm southern welcome the low country is well known for. You will be disappointed if you do.

Amazing.....

From the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out - we were loving this home away from home! Dana was amazing and attentive and we were even able to reserve an additional night! Relaxed and enjoyed every minute we spent there and cannot wait to come back.. it was literally the perfect place for us!! The Davis Family will be back...
