My dad would ask us that anytime one of us left a door open. Of course not, Dad, but now I could say I've spent two nights in a barn! Black Barn Indy is a delightful place, rustic authenticity on the outside and fully modern on the inside. ( Do be mindful that there is only one bath, downstairs. It is very small but clean and functional. The shower/tub could use a grab bar too.) The kitchen is well supplied with everything you might need to prepare a meal, but we ate out instead. Indy Black barn is centrally located in the northern half of the city where it is easy to drive to upscale Keystone at the crossing or Carmel area. Closer is highly desirable Broad Ripple with lovely renovated shops, restaurants, and homes and a vibe especially attractive to younger professionals and families. Heading South takes you to downtown Indy and all it has to offer. After all of this we enjoyed our time in the hot tub before bed. Although the mattresses are somewhat flat, all is made up with comfy linens and plenty of extra pillows and such for a quiet night of sleep. Overall I recommend Josh's place for those visitors needing more privacy and relaxation than hotels offer. A car is needef to get around though.
Finally, host Josh was hihgly responsive to our needs and extremely quick to answer texts when we needed help with a couple of inconveniences due to cleaning helper mistakes. All was good in the end!
